[indent]Jar stands at a lanky 6 feet 1 inch and is fairly thin. His vegetarian diet and love for morning runs keeps him fit and trim, but nowhere near beefcake muscular. Notable facial features include high cheekbones, a sharp jawline, and warm, honey colored eyes that border on hazel in some lighting. The longest locks of Jar’s hair brush his collarbone, while the rest is cut into shorter ‘emo’ fringe that frames his face. 

Jareth currently only has a few tattoos, including a patch of hearts on his stomach near his right hip bone that he got when he was seventeen and plans on covering up someday because they look like absolute shit, a blue pacman-like ghost with a heart speech bubble on his inner right bicep, and a red star-like shape on his inner right wrist. These are just the first of many tattoos in Jar’s mind, he plans on having full sleeves and then some someday. As far as piercings go, Jar has 2g gauges in both ears and a piercing on the right side of his lip. The lip ring started as snake bites when he was sixteen, but he has since removed the left in favor of an asymmetrical aesthetic - hence the right side positioning of all of his tattoos. His clothing style consists of band t-shirts, brightly colored and random screen tees, the occasional plaid button-up, super tight skinnies jeans and Toms or Vans. And, yes, he occasionally wears guyliner.

[indent]It is easy to look at someone like Jareth and think that you know what they are like. At face value, he might look like some burnout stereotype, and in some ways he is. Jareth has never excelled in school, he scrapes by with average C grades and the occasionally B if he finds the subject interesting enough. He smokes a lot of pot and is no stranger to the party animal crowd. Jareth’s looks and flirtatious nature hook him a lot of female attention, but his twin fears of commitment and, ultimately, abandonment keep him from ever getting too attached. Also, he kind of just likes to play the field romantically and is known to some as a player, but never a cheat.

While Jareth isn’t ashamed to indulge in carnal desires, he isn’t totally hopeless. His passion for music overcomes everything else in his life. CrimSon, and his band mates Ari, Jessie, Erik and Kyle, are his life. Jareth’s ultimate life goal is to chase this passion into stardom, and he is well aware of the level of work and dedication that might take. It will be worth it.[/indent][hr]

[indent]Jareth was born to a drug addict groupie and some mystery musician. His teenage birth mother gave him up for adoption immediately upon giving birth and, to this day, he hasn’t actually met her. It wasn’t one of those happy adoptions either, as his first set of ‘parents’ didn’t work out and, as such, he wound up in the foster care system. This lack of unconditional parental love or stability lead to behavioral problems throughout his childhood, which made finding a forever home all the more difficult. Jareth bounced from home to home - some families were too soft and kind to handle a ‘troubled kid’, and others were just plain abusive. 

When Brian and Charlotte McKinney stepped foot in the foster home, Jar had unknowingly met his match. The ruthless politician and bombshell model saw the potential in young Jareth immediately. Their decision to foster Jar 6 years ago was a loveless one. This was a political and social move… he was a trophy to be put on their mantle and display what [i]good[/i] people they were, taking in a troubled preteen like that. Because of this, they were just hard enough to handle Jareth’s behaviors, putting up with his outbursts and rebellion because they saw the ends to justify the means.

In time, Jareth grew out of the violence and accepted that this was the way things would be from now on. For better or for worse, he had found his forever home. The stability of the McKinney household allowed him to explore his love of music. The McKinney’s certainly didn’t hurt for money and, when he was 15, they bought him an Ibanez guitar and sound equipment to play around with in his ‘little’ garage band that is now known as CrimSon. Of course, they aren’t supportive of this hobby as a career goal, but Jareth doesn’t give two shits about their opinion. 

Nowadays, Jar can be found picking petty fights with his foster parents just to instigate. Jareth’s teenage rebellion has become more peaceful and secretive than his violent childhood, including things like sneaking out to hook up with girls, smoke pot, and attend parties, not necessarily in that order. I first met Luther in detention in 8th grade. He got caught with spray paint in his locker and I was cutting class or some shit. Anyway, we really hit it off. Lu is really into activism and stuff, so we’ve talked about animal and human rights in the few times that we’ve hung out. Davy and I met… actually, I’m not quite sure of the exact moment we met, the important thing is that we did. The kid is a monster on a set of wheels, watching him do his thing is pretty amazing. I love when a person has a talent or a skill that they passionately work on, it’s admirable, I can relate to that. David is definitely a little bit odd but, in my opinion, all the best people are. I made an effort to talk to and try to hang out with him. Turns out he has this awesome little dope cave at his parent’s place, his ‘secret spot’ as he calls it. Davy grows his own green down there and sometimes we smoke up the place together sitting in bean bags while he plays his skating games and I play my guitar. We don’t really talk all that much when we hang, but we’re definitely friends. OH! And did I mention he has a duck… and a turtle?! She’s the lead singer of East of Eden, a neat local symphonic metal band. I would love to collaborate with her someday… sing with her band, or have her sing with mine…. Either way! Ari is like a brother to me, honestly, I don’t know where I’d mentally be without him. I think it’s safe to say that the feeling goes both ways. As far as personality goes, Ari certainly keeps life interesting: when he’s up, he can be obnoxious as hell, but fun, and when he’s down, he’s really down. My bandmates are my best friends, and I tell them everything, even the deep stuff. Ari has shared quite a bit about himself with me as well, and some of it is pretty dark. I don’t know what I’d do if something happened to him, CrimSon needs our kick ass guitarist. He has his quirks, and he could really use better hygiene habits, but he really is my closest friend and it’s nice to have someone solid in good times and bad.[/center]

I think I see more of this kid through my pizza delivery job than I do at school. He’s the king of the geeks, but he is really nice, so I don’t have anything negative to say about him.[/center]

Ehh, I don’t know all that much about him besides the fact that he’s the head brain…. Valedictorian or whatever they call it. He offered to tutor me and a bunch of the other kids that weren’t making the oh-so-coveted A’s and B’s. I politely told him that I didn’t really give a shit about my grades, passing is passing. What? I said it politely! Truly, there isn’t really good or bad blood between us, we run in very different circles. He’s adopted too, so I guess there’s something to be said for, uhhh, empathy and all that if we ever talk in the future.[/center]
