Notable NPCs
The Ansharin Oasis
Name | Marak Karlup Gender | Male Age | 74 Appearance | Marak is an elderly man who appears quite small with his crooked posture and reserved stature. Make no mistake though, Marak is a fierce person with piercing gray eyes that stand out even against his wrinkled face. His skin tone is charcoal, which stands at a stark contrast with his silvery, wiry beard that reaches down to his chest. He has no hair growing on the top of his scalp, though wisps of hair still cling to the back of his head. His hands, while not as strong as they used to be, are still hard and calloused. He has many scars along his body, particularly across his chest, which he wears proudly. His attire is similar to that of the other Ansharin, though as an elder he also wears a headdress made from the feathers of a Djara; a snow white bird that migrates to the Dreamscape during the dry season. Personality | Marak, like most of the Ansharin elders, is a proud man with a deep commitment to his tribe. He can be seen as quite stubborn and somewhat paranoid, what with his advocating of keeping certain information from the tribe for their own safety. Though his intentions are always good, Marak has a bad habit of being incredibly presumptuous about the needs of others. He thinks he knows best, and that the tribe should follow he and the other elders without a second word. While this method has usually been the way the Ansharin have existed, the newer generations have quite a handful of curious individuals that refuse to leave things be.

Name | Kwilana Karlup Gender - Female Age | 64, though she appears much younger. Appearance | Kwilana does not look like she is supposed to. Despite the flow of time, Kwilana has managed to maintain a youthful visage over the many cycles. This is attributed to her heretical connection with dark forces, and as such most of the Ansharin avoid her at all costs. If you dared to gaze upon her though, you would find a tall beauty with gorgeous locks of bushy, yet tamed, hair that reach down past her waist. Her smooth complexion is almost too perfect, with barely a blemish or scar in sight. Her face is round with soft features, though her eyes are by far the most hyponotising thing about her. The other tribesmen are very superstitious of her beautiful appearance, claiming it to be the witch's way of luring unsuspecting victims to her. Kwilana is forced to wear rags, scraps not even befitting of a Ngarlak. Personality | Despite the rumors surrounding her, Kwilana is actually a very kind and compassionate person. She enjoys the company of others, though is very understanding as to why not many people feel comfortable around her. For many Ansharin, Kwilana is the only 'magical' entity that they have ever experienced in their lifetimes. Being superstitious people, they are quick to shun her and label her as a heretic. She is known in the Ansharin tribe as an evil spirit, a witch who represents an omen of doom for the tribe. Kwilana's forgiving nature has lead her to not hold anything against those who persecute her. There is much more to Kwilana than meets the eye, and anyone who is brave enough to venture into her hut will find a warm smile and a tender hearted person waiting for them. Skills

Witchcraft While no one in the newer generation have ever seen Kwilana use magic, her eternal youth is enough proof to them that she possesses some form of power. No one expect for her brother, Marak, knows the true extent of her power.
Biography | Born as the sister of Marak, Kwilana could have been recognised as an elder like her brother. However in her youth, she ventured to the forbidden mountain and went missing for a long period of time. 30 cycles later, Kwilana emerged. She had not aged a day and supposedly possessed powers that caused the other tribesmen to fear her and label her a heretic. While anyone else would have been turned away and exiled to the Dreamscape, Marak pleaded with the elders of his time to let her stay. They accepted, but on the condition that Kwilana must remain inside her own hut for the rest of her life. She would never be allowed to step foot outside again, and all of her food must be brought to her. More cycles have passed, and while Marak grew old and frail; Kwilana still retained the same appearance of a young lady. Still refined to her hut, Kwilana is seen as a witch or evil spirit among the tribe.
