Her eyes are the colour of a clear winter sky and her hair is a pale shade of ash blonde that runs in smoothly down to the base of her back. Her clothes usually consist of some delicate and airy fabrics in light colours, though she will dress appropriately for any occasion, not shying away from exposing skin (sometimes too carelessly) or putting a tracksuit on. Her signature are her camera, an arsenal of cute trinkets to dangle off her bag or belt and a variety of braids in her hair. Tokarin's wings seem too big for her size, making her look even smaller than she actually is. They have a brilliant shade of white, each feather glistening in the sun as if it held a little rainbow inside. She usually wears them relaxed on her back, where the end feathers touch the ground and drag across it like a feathery mantle. Despite that carelessness, she will get annoyed or offended if anyone would step on them, even if it’s accidental. Social Status: While well-liked, Tokarin still hasn’t done anything to make her name heard by most people. She has many casual acquaintances, especially homeless people. Relations: She’s on good terms with everyone she meets and will always assume the best in people until proven wrong. Friendships to be negotiated. General Activity: Documenting all the current affairs in Loom and the surrounding area, trying to understand and help people from all sorts of backgrounds and trying to remember her past lives in her spare time. Abilities: As a Clairvoyant angel, Tokarin is capable of foreseeing the future. Her skills are strong and well-developed, but short-sighted. She is capable of perdicting upcoming events at will, her foresight capturing details of what would happen up to five minutes ahead of the current moment. Due to this ability she’s usually capable of avoid danger by figuring out what actions would lead to nasty results and thus choose the most favourable ones. While her visions are always correct, they have some very important limitations. She is unable to see more than five minutes ahead of time, and cannot predict events in the distant future. Furthermore, while glancing in the future she loses sight of the current events, thus rendering her helpless for the few seconds it takes her to find the right course of action. What’s more, her foresight only captures a snapshot of the future which can easily change due to a variety of reasons. Last but not least, the more details she wants to see, the more concentration and time Tokarin needs, thus making the predictions hazier the more she'd distracted by anything happening around her. On the up-side, her clairvoyance is never completely absent from her life, often manifesting as a passive intuition or premonition even when she's not actively looking. Equipment: Camera, a satchel full of books and food and a tazer. Personality: Tokarin is an easy-going girl who might initially strike some people as too innocent or naïve. Growing up within a small community, she has been fairly sheltered before coming to the Surface, and has a romantic view of the world, thinking that there is good in every person and some are just very good at hiding it. A bit of an idealist, Tokarin will do everything she can to help people uncover that inner good or accept it. Her second foremost trait is her curiosity – one she wears openly on her face and that's obvious to all whom she sets eyes on. Tokarin is eager to get to know most anyone and doesn't easily judge. This set of qualities lead many people to like her instantly, while others have the completely opposite reaction. Biography: Tokarin grew up in a small community of angels who had fled Judas' madness by settling in Heaven. Still a baby at the time, she didn't know anything about the Surface except what she was told growing up and what she saw through the broken clouds beneath her feet. Her “parents” were a paranoid and suspicious couple so everything she heard about the world underneath was about how scary it and all its inhabitants are. As the girl grew, she started questioning her community's opinion, spending more and more time looking down through the clouds. That was her first little rebellion, sparked by the fact that Heaven was a terribly boring and almost desolate place. The more she saw, the more curious she grew and one moonless night six months ago she got her chance to sneak away, never looking back. She settled into one of the shelters in Loom and spent the next month exploring the city and its inhabitants. She came across many different people, some more dangerous than others, but always came out unharmed. Slowly she started gathering knowledge of this world and people's drives, desires and identities, and some of those she adopted as her own. She started dressing less modestly and became acquainted with more words and practices than she'd known back in Heaven. She made a few friends and a few enemies and eventually managed to find a part-time job as a freelance photographer.

Andri Yrjan
Theme 1; Theme 2 Name: Andri Yrjan Nicknames: Churchill (said as a teasing compliment), Rasputin (due to an unfortunate debate he once had with some friends), Afro (he lost the hair but the nickname stuck) and Lovebird. He hates them all. Age: 22 Race: Until recently he was human, now he’s in the process of becoming a demon. Appearance: Andri is slim but not tall, fit but not build - all round, he’s pretty average. What stands out about him are his handsome face and his posture. There’s an easy grace to the way he walks and the way he sits. It conveys a calm confidence and inspires respect in most anyone who sees him. Perhaps that’s what draws people to him even when he’s not explicitly trying to stand out. His eyes are a deep brown, almost black, as is his hair, but he’s noticed that both have been changing recently. A dark crimson is weaving its way into his irises and he seems to be getting lighter streaks in his hair. So far the changes are subtle but they seem to be progressive and show no signs of stopping... Social Status: Due to his quick thinking and strategic mind, Andri has often been the (reluctant) leader in group operations in the Academy. He’s not the heart of any party but he’s reliable and generally well-liked and respected by his peers. Relations: Kanna: His girlfriend. They’ve been together for a few years now and they’re almost always together in the Academy’s halls. On missions, however, they prefer to work separately. Kanna is serious, reliable and beautiful. She’s also skilled as a Musician, although not at the top of the chart. Mary Anne: The social worker who’s been helping Andri adapt ever since he left the orphanage. At nearly 70 the woman is now retired and suffers from poor health. Andri still keeps in touch with her on a regular basis. She still lives in Oslo and she’s still the closest person to his heart. Nick, Fatima, Nikola and Travis: Musicians like himself, they’re among his best friends at the Academy and his usual team when serious missions need executing. They specialise in hostage situations and direct confrontation. Kou: A younger Musician at 15 who seems to admire Andri and consider him his mentor. Andri is both flattered and annoyed at the fact but tries to always be nice and patient with the boy. Hazumi: Their relationship is mostly official but Andri has had private meetings with her on a few occasions. General Activity: Do his job as a Wielder; keep Mary Anne and Kanna safe. Abilities: Andri has few abilities aside from those that come with his fragment. Aside from being excellent at doing his own laundry, cooking and managing his time, he’s devoted some time and effort in studying the martial art Systema as a way to supplement his fighting style. He’s far from being a master at it but the years of practice have made him quite capable. Equipment: Andri chooses his equipment depending on the specific needs for the mission but most often it consists of clothes that allow fast and agile movement, a gun and a pair of enchanted handcuffs capable of keeping most creatures docile. Instrument:
Kineri Andri’s instrument is called Kineri but nobody is sure what exactly it looks like since it’s been years since anyone saw it. Technically, it belongs to the woodwind family but unfortunately for him, Andri has failed to display a gift when it comes to music and the five years he’s spent studying at Master Melody’s has done very little to change that. He can play a few tunes on a recorder but that’s about it. Failing nearly every musical classic should have meant that he can't really make a career as a Musician, and twenty years ago he wouldn't have been able to. Since the attack on Master Melody's, however, a new branch was created and children who have little talent for music but a strong one for combat still get a chance to become part of the elite peacekeeping force. The Instrument has largely merged with Andri as it was implanted in his body to enhance its effects. Kineri’s physical manifestation is thus very different, and very subtle. Usually it’s only visible from up-close as rows of shallow grooves made of silver that run parallel along his neck, arms and legs. As the air flows around his body and passes through the exposed grooves, it emits a specific noise. Sometimes it’s simply a low hum akin to a white noise while other times it can resemble a wind’s whistle or the call of a bird - the latter being quite an unsettling phenomenon for some who presume it’s the screaming voice of Ashley herself. When necessary, the metallic furrows can elongate and sharpen to the point of becoming rows of sharp blades protruding from his skin. The are extremely durable as they are part of his very body and essence and can’t be broken or ripped out unless his very flesh follows. This shape that he refers to simply as “kin”, is a modification he uses very rarely. While working as a team he typically doesn’t need to resort to it and if he does, the damage dealt is very likely to be fatal - an undesired outcome in most cases. Fragment abilities: Kineri is more of an armour than a weapon. It shrouds Andri and the area around him in a force field that repels most projectiles and severely slows down melee attacks. For an attacker it feels like they're struggling against a strong gust of wind that only grows stronger the closer they get to the Wielder’s physical body. The inner one meter radius is an invisible armour that reacts to the outside world according to Andri’s will, while the spread and effectiveness of the outer circles depend on the assailant's own strength and the energy Andri’s pouring into the shield. With enough, a whole area of maximum ten meters can be covered, affecting everyone within. It slows down the movement of friend and foe alike but allows Andri himself to move unobstructed. He's working on allowing his teammates the same luxury but so far he hadn't been able to. To many, the effects of Kineri appear like air magic, or one connected to gravity and few outside of the Academy have been able to recognize it for what it is. The differences are very subtle as both types of magic affect essence as well as the physical world. Kineri is capable of dealing damage as well, although not as easily as preventing it. With a sudden, concentrated and directed activation of the shield, Kineri can create a outlash blast to slam into an opponent, knocking them off balance or tripping them. On the up side, it works at a range. On the down side, it’s merely as strong as a good human punch and can only cause blunt force trauma. In addition, its most effective when using the element of surprise, thus making it a one-shot for most fights. Fragment personality: The most prominent part of his instrument is a guardian angel called Ashley. She can talk to him and she sometimes makes herself seen when he closes his eyes. That’s all Andri’s ever revealed to his peers but his teachers might know more.
Personality: Will show IC. Biography: Andri was born in Norway but he has no idea where exactly or to whom. Orphaned from birth, his first memories are of people whom he assumes to have been foster parents - a long string of caring women and nice men, none of which particularly memorable. Some were human and some weren’t; some had other children but still a few hugs to spare. Andri was never maltreated but he never felt truly loved either. As he grew older, he started wondering why so many people took turns to foster him. Trying to think of a reason why that could be, he developed the dangerous habit of staying up late and trying to overhear private conversations that weren’t meant for a child’s ears. He heard a lot of things he shouldn’t have, the most notable of which being a gentle verbal caress between two demons: “we’re getting better at this, one day we’ll be ready to adopt our own child”. Realising that he was merely a training dummy for those people, Andri decided that that’s the ultimate answer to his question. His mind got caught in a vicious cycle of blaming the parents or blaming himself, making him skittish and unrily. The doubt, blame and hurt he felt changed his attitude completely and as early as eleven he started withdrawing and growing more and more distant. His smiles were replaced by long, calculating stares and his desire to please was snuffed out and replaced with selfish worry about his own well-being. The staff at the shelter were puzzled but as Andri wasn’t showing any serious signs of depression and lacked any violent outbursts, they attributed the change in personality to him growing up. Eventually though, Andri stopped caring for foster parents altogether. When the staff tried to pressure him into going to yet another stranger’s house, he finally lashed out and things got physical. One of the caretakers suffered a large gash on her arm while another got a black eye. A lesson was learned by all that day. The caretakers left the boy alone while he himself went back to acting calm and simmering quietly beneath the surface. He lived in the orphanage and forced himself to cause no further trouble as long as he was left alone. However, the detached gaze that could pin a man to a wall at a moment’s notice became a worry to some of the older children and problems were soon to follow. After some very unpleasant incidents, Andri asked to leave and everyone breathed a sigh of relief when he was allowed to do so. At fourteen he was given a small studio in Oslo and assigned a personal social worker - an elderly woman called Mary Anne. She was supposed to live with him but she quickly realised that wouldn’t get them anywhere and left him on his own, moving instead to a flat a few blocks down. This independence seemed to calm the boy down and even though his relationship with Mary Anne was rocky to start with, they ultimately became very close. She understood the boy perfectly and knew how to help him adapt to living on his own without becoming overbearing. When he came of age to join Master Melody’s, Andri got an interview with the patron and the principle and became a Musician in training. One of Hazumi’s conditions to his admission was that he should live on campus and even though he was reluctant at first, he ended up agreeing. The past five years have served to smooth his edges somewhat and developed his ability to work in a team. Recently he’s even been tasked with being team-leader in drills and official missions and has proven his worth as a versatile fighter, be it on the frontline or as backup.
