Ren Moyra
Sunlight. 'God, that's annoying...' Groaned the young orphan silently as she rolled away from the light, trying to lull herself back to sleep with her dark and damp surroundings, but to no avail. Despite her coat being able to block the sunlight completely, Ren couldn't escape the impossible heat both it and the light generated in tandem. Hell, it even caused her to start sweating! Either that or it was a nightma- "Gah!" Suddenly, the young girl sat up, panting. 'That's right...', she thought, 'another nightmare...' There was no doubt about it. The sweat had come from a nightmare, and a nasty one at that, tearing her from her precious sleep. The phantom dream even hid itself until she thought about it, which made Ren curse in annoyance. "All I asked for was five more minutes..." Mutters the exhausted Moyra as she stares out the window with the eyes of a dead fish. "Well... doesn't really matter now... I'm here, anyway." Her fake excitement could convince the most slowest of people, though considering there was nobody in the cargo hold of the ship to begin with, it didn't really matter. At the very least it gave her energy. She pulled her savings from her pocket and gave a quick recount. 'Five-hundred... Just to be safe.' Of course she would scavenge what she could from these containers, though it seems everything was sealed tight behind some kind of container. In fact the only item of worth was a potion, which she could apply to her new Pokemon if the need arose. 'Ah, yes, my very first Pokemon. Supposedly your first Pokemon is that which you cherish the most. I have yet to be convinced.' Of course, she'd find out soon enough. After all, she'd just arrived in Argentglade...
It took Ren a little longer than hoped to get off of the vessel and onto the snowy port undetected, though eventually she was able to make her move. Sneaking out the side of the ship and dropping down onto the pier, she maintained secrecy by hoping behind a large stack of boxed goods which had been piled up beside the barge. The ice was thin by the docks, causing it to crack under even Ren's lightweight frame. Her eyes momentarily took note of the vegetation and caught marine animals, though thought little of either and continued on. She took note of her surroundings: hills far off in the distance, houses sparsely spread though not too much, and snow everywhere. Just about what she expected from Argentglade. Her inner child was suppressed to maintain her stoic impersonation; she'd never seen snow before, and wanted nothing more to experience what it was like to touch, however she figured there would be plenty of time for that around less people. She was also doing well to suppress her hunger, with the sweet aromas that waft throughout the air causing Ren's nose to sniff on in bliss, though she did wonder as to why she could even smell such things. Why did people have their windows open? Unless they were baking outside, though with this snow, that seemed rather... stupid. It was at this moment that she was so rudely interrupted by a passerby offering food, having spotted how thin Ren was. Despite assuring the man that she was perfectly healthy and fine, he offered food, and Ren was a little too hungry say no. After providing the teen with enough bread to feed the Alola region, the man went on his way and Ren was left to munch on her surprisingly warm bread. Looking around, she couldn't help but notice that all the people of the town seemed to be happy and friendly. She made a mental note of that kindness for possible use later... Despite not knowing which building belonged to Prof. Evergreen, Ren automatically assumed it was the building with all the scientists and young trainers entering and exiting, and made way for the white, cubic building with the black satellite tower on top. Finishing her bread and taking a breath of cool air after the light jog, Ren Moyra entered the Pokemon Laboratory of Professor Evergreen. Despite being perfectly warm in her own coat, the temperature inside the lab felt heavenly compared to outside, and drew Ren inside with one big swoop. Before her stood -- or rather sat -- the one she assumed was Professor Evergreen. Comparing her own appearance to that of the professor, Ren wouldn't be surprised if someone mistook her as the bratty twin sister. With light blue hair that fell just below the shoulders, and a shade darker eyes which beamed curiosity, the two looked practically identical, give or take a few key differences. For one, Ren could stand. “Oh, do come in! My name is Dr. Evergreen, I’ll be your employer. If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask. ERIC will assist you from here.” Although a little confused as to the common courtesy, Ren managed to shake the woman's hand, give or take a moment. 'So much for greetings...' With a simple nod, Ren studies the lab with curiosity. The lab itself was a constant buzz, always moving and active. Despite this, it also had a secondary function as a home, with both science and economics merging together to form the most comfortable laboratory in Huji. At least, that was Ren's interpretation. At the mention of an assistant, the one she presumed was ERIC, made his appearance: a computer system of sorts, capable of controlling many sections of the lab. “IT IS A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU.” Though surprised, Ren didn't let it show. She hadn't seen technology like this before! It was fascinating, though she knew she couldn't divulge in curiosity presently. After all, curiosity killed the cat. “He will be taking you into the terminal room. I'd do it myself, but it's a bit crowded at the moment... see you soon!” The professor took off no sooner than she appeared, though no-one could blame her. It was a busy day, and the children took priority. Ren may have even done the same under the circumstances. “RIGHT THIS WAY, PLEASE.” Ren had already made note of the various clones of ERIC. He sure was an efficient system, running so many processes and having this many commands inputted, all being responded to and solved in real time. It made Ren wonder just what kind of hardware the Professor was packing back there in her wheelchair... The Moyra girl followed closely behind ERIC into an empty room, having him as her guide. She was taking to the back corner and scanned with a strange blue light, reminiscent of an Aqua Ring, before exploding and reforming into the word: [REGISTER]. Just below it was a thumb print, where she could only assume Ren had to put her thumb in acceptance... ... She hesitated... 'Take a deep breath,' sighed the black-coated female, 'no more emotions. This is it.' She pressed her thumb forward, and a wave of blue traversed the 'screen' before her. REN MOYRA AGE: 17 SEX: F HEIGHT: 5’ 2” WEIGHT: 112 LBS [IS THIS CORRECT?] Ren pressed the button in acceptance. CALCULATING... Before her was something not entirely foreign, but new. Ren knew of machines which put together other machines, though she'd seen nothing like this. The level of detail and quality was impeccable, and Ren couldn't help but be fascinated by it. The robot wasn't going to go about spreading rumours, now was he? As the Pokeball was created, Ren was left with a unique dilemma which she hadn't anticipated: YOUR POKÉMON IS... SHINX [WILL YOU GIVE SHINX A NAME?] It wasn't the Pokemon which she was caught up on, it was the nickname. To be honest, she'd never even thought about nicknaming her Pokemon. Though, after giving it some thought, she could see the tactical advantage in nicknaming one's Pokemon. After all, there are some circumstances in which you may surprise a human or Pokemon by calling out a foreign name. Plus, it was a saying among trainers that nicknaming one's Pokemon brought them closer to the trainer. Ren wanted to test that theory. The name couldn't be something too strange, otherwise it might confuse the Pokemon too much. After a little more thought, she finally had an answer: 'Shyn.' No 403 SHYN (SHINX) FLASH POKéMON LEVEL: 5 HT: 1’ 08” WT: 20.9 LBS SEX: M NATURE: IMPISH INCREASED STAT: DEF DECREASED STAT: SP. ATK FAVORITE FLAVOR: SOUR DISLIKED FLAVOR: DRY ABILITY: INTIMIDATE (LOWERS OPPONENT’S ATTACK) THE EXTENSION AND CONTRACTION OF ITS MUSCLES GENERATES ELECTRICITY. IT GLOWS WHEN IN TROUBLE. PLEASE TAKE YOUR POKé BALL. GOOD LUCK! "~You caught Shyn, the Shinx!~ CONGRATULATIONS.” Despite lacking facial expression and tone, ERIC sounded more genuine to Ren than most people. "Thanks..." She said in a quiet voice, barely audible, averting her gaze. Thankfully she spotted the drone coming toward the two, and retrieved one of the two silver Pokedex which it brought over. “THESE DEVICES ARE KNOWN AS POKéDEX. POINTING THEM IN THE VICITNITY OF A POKéMON WILL GIVE THE TRAINER A SUMMARY OF INFORMATION FOR THAT POKéMON. THAT POKéMON’S INFORMATION WILL THEN BE DOWNLOADED TO THE DATABASE. THE POKéDEX IS LINKED TO PROFESSOR EVERGREEN’S POKéDEX, AND SHE MAY BE CONTACTED AT ANY POINT IN TIME.” ERIC explained. He paused for a moment so Ren could keep up, though she was a pretty good listener anyway. “EMPLOYMENT UNDER EVERGREEN LTD. REQURIES TRAINERS TO UPLOAD AS MUCH POKéMON DATA AS POSSIBLE. MONETARY SUMS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR SCANNING WILD POKéMON. ADDITIONAL MONETARY SUMS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR SCANNING BOTH WILD AND RARE POKéMON.” Once again, a momentary pause. “EMPLOYMENT UNDER EVERGREEN LTD. DOES NOT ALLOW FOR THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY PROVIDED BY OTHER COMPANIES. TECHNOLOGY WILL BE PROVIDED BY EVERGREEN LTD. AS THE TRAINER BECOMES A MORE VIABLE ASSET THROUGH THE QUANTITY AND QUALITY OF DATA UPLOADS. TO BEGIN EMPLOYMENT, EACH TRAINER WILL RECEIVE A COMPLEMENTARY EVERGREEN BALL.” 'So you endorse child labour, professor? That's funny.' Thought Ren cynically with a quiet sigh, a noise grabbing her attention. The same drone from before had returned (or maybe they all just looked the same?) with a Pokeball in place of the Pokedex' this time, with this no doubt being her complimentary Evergreen Ball. Ren took the ball once she'd found a place for her Pokedex and Pokeball in her pocket and belt, respectively. “DO YOU REQUIRE MORE INFORMATION?” ERIC said. Ren looked over to the hologram with a curious glance. 'He can answer questions...?' Ren thought. She really was curious as to how advanced ERIC was, but didn't want to stick around too long. So, she kept it simple. "ERIC, what are your specs?"

N/A [s](Actually I'm really, really lazy XD)[/s]
