"No, no need to do that," she said, cutting Nate off. Jennifer turned around to face Vin. "Your eagerness to save the Earth is a turn-on, really, but let's play Captain Planet later when the kid isn't around." She gave him a smile before facing forward again, taking off the hat as she ran her fingers through her hair. 

"Are you okay?" Jennifer finally asked. She'd noticed a couple of times that Nate was in pain, and someone like him wouldn't be showing it unless it was something serious. "What happened to you after you left my apartment? I mean, I'm a little concerned right now because we have to go face whatever the hell is waiting for us in Harlan and if you're not 100% healthy, then the odds are against us."
