Nate was visibly shocked by JJ's refusal to help him but even more so by the fact that she used the "It's not you, it's me." line, like she was breaking up with him. After he had let himself look vulnerable. Admitted to being in a lot of pain. She still wouldn't help him. Sure, he had more or less been a complete asshole to her this entire time but still...He was like a kid who had spent the afternoon drawing dicks on the walls and then got upset when he was told he couldn't get ice cream. A thought flashed in the back of his mind that suggested maybe JJ was right. Maybe his wounds were too much for her to take. Maybe her smaller frame couldn't take the weight of the injuries like the military trained body he had. But he quickly shut that thought down and attributed it to the concussion. She was a terrible person. That's what he told himself anyway. In the space of only about five seconds, Nate's face shifted from his usual happy-go-lucky expression to shock, then to anger, then confusion, then to a look of deep thought and eventually settled on just completely expressionless. His face showed no signs of emotion at all. Not even his usual smile. It was almost creepy. Nate heard Vin suggest that he let someone else drive but took a long second to reply. Eventually, he said in an almost robotic tone "No thank you, Vincent. I'm fine with driving...Driving this fast moving, two ton box of steel and glass." It was only then that he started to show any sign of emotion again and that sign was a slightly creepy smile that was soon made even creepier when he started softly chuckling to himself like something was really funny. He wouldn't actually crash the car. He was annoyed with JJ but not so much that he would kill himself to make a point. But it sure was fun to think about. [@Xandrya] [@Rawk]
