Henry
”Oh, oh, alright. Gotcha.” The clarification on how Denys' magic worked elicited a vigorous couple of nods from Henry. Satisfied with the other man's proposed course of action, he returned his focus to Candy Cane. In a way, her attire reminded him of a female dark mage's. Of course, this resemblance was only cursory. While she shared some of the sensuality that characterized their attire, there was none of the elegance or mystique. Candy Cane looked more like a prostitute than a mysterious, alluring magical force—not that Henry knew anything about them. In short order Henry found himself beneath the microscope of Denys. Though many Plegians would have been instantly suspicious of anyone trying to glean any information about their theocracy, this dark mage answered without reserve. ”Harena? Hahah, nope. Actually, I don't know what the continent's called. We've got Ylisse on one side and Valm on the other, though if I'm not around to kill the nice folks from Valm, there's gonna be a whole lot more Valm in the world and a lot less everything else.” He shrugged, talking about the potential world conquest of the Valmese Emperor Walhart as if it were a sports team doing well in the current championship.
Birdie
Just when the big man thought his chain would ensnare Gaige and draw her into piece-of-mind-giving range, the thin guy in red leaped forward to pull her out of the way heroically. The chain itself continued on, flying toward the Scout, but before it even got close the familiar profile of a pistol appeared in his hand. Birdie's eyes almost popped out of his skull. He wouldn't even have time to protest before another gun-toting psychopath shot him full of holes! Just before the Scout started to fire, he vanished behind a sudden wall of flame. The fact that it damaged his favorite chain didn't matter so much; Birdie simply started running. He turned tail and hoofed it out of there with surprising speed. ”Aah! Does every bleedin' psycho on this stupid farm wanna put me in the ground? Why me!?” After making a mad dash out the main gate, he took it into his head to make a rush for a town in the distance. There, with buildings and people aplenty he could use for cover, he'd be safe. The thought that all of those people might have guns or molotovs crossed his mind as well, but he blanched and discarded it. With this in mind, he raced onto Hyrule Field. At first, he didn't even notice the skeleton threat. One arm popped out of the ground to try and grab his boot only to be torn from its socket and thrown to the side. Birdie failed to even feel it; like a raging bull, he simple barreled heedlessly through obstructions. Only when a full-bodied skeleton rose from the earth a few meters before him did his eyebrows shoot up in surprise. ”Wot's this? Some 'alloween prank? I'm not in the mood!” Without a second's hesitation he ran straight into it, smashing it to the ground and then crushing its bones beneath his weight. He left it in his dust, thoroughly trampled and regretful. A few more skeletons appeared, but none could come close to stopping the big man's wild, adrenaline-fueled charge. That said, he did pick up some new scratches courtesy of undead fingers, but in this state Birdie didn't notice them, either. By the time he reached the perimeter of Castle Town, he was huffing and puffing immensely. More than anything, he wanted to relax and eat, but Birdie could tell he wasn't in the clear yet. Between him and potential safety stood two women, one with a big sword and one two...no, four guns. Though maybe a little better than two people with guns and one with pyromania, this situation didn't sit well with Birdie. Lingering outside of effective handgun range, he wondered what he should do. A skeleton appeared beside him and swung its arm at his stomach, draw a few drops of blood. Baring his teeth in rage, Birdie grabbed the bony thing by its shoulder and bashed it with its head, instantly destroying the skull. As the thing collapsed, he looked back at the women, only to find them in the process of leaving. ”Finally, everything's comin' up Birdie!” With this pronouncement made, he walked in their footsteps and entered Castle Town.
