The road was as endless as ever, and daylight was still a few hours away as the foursome continued their journey into the middle of nowheresville. Vincent, cooling from his earlier vicious breakdown, brushed Jennifer’s hair out of her face and around her ear as he held her close in the back seat. He still reeled over the whole situation of Nate pushing her to execute a power she still wasn’t sure about, nor really wanted to use in the first place, but at this point it all had to play out as it was. Vin didn’t know what to think anymore, so he didn’t, instead he simply held the girl, feeling her irregular breathing and momentary bouts of muscle spasms, knowing that this was about the most he could do. He had no medical knowledge of his own, no healing powers to help anyone. He was a tattoo artist with a curse that seemed to be as deadly and destructive to himself as it was to everyone around him. The trouble was, he had no idea when it would decide to lash out, and this made him a potential liability until he had proper control. The new guy was in the passenger’s seat, clearly feeling better after Jennifer had healed him, and part of Vin hated that as well, considering now she was the one who probably felt like a ton of bricks had fallen on her while she was being run over multiple times by a Mack truck. Nate on the other hand was soldiering through his pain, as he usually did, and very little came out of his mouth for once. The new guy had more questions than anyone cared to answer, and even when either Nate or Vin mustered up the will to care, he’d interrupt with yet another question. They both understood it though...the guy was scared, hyped up on adrenaline and who-knows-what, and he’d just been fully healed by a chick with super powers. So who wouldn’t carry on with an overwhelming personality after that? Nate suddenly groaned, the first sound from him in almost an hour, and Vin looked up ahead to notice a man standing in the road near an old pickup, seemingly armed with some type of weapon or weapons. “Ah shit, not again...” Vin grumbled. “Is there anyone on this fucking planet who is not looking to kill us?” The car rolled up slowly and came to a stop several yards from the stranger in the road who didn’t appear to be taking much action other than pulling a few drags from his cigarette. “I just hope for all our sakes, that this is the guy we’re supposed to be meeting.” Vin said, no doubt echoing the thoughts of the other two. “So Nate...eh, go introduce yourself.” [@Subject Zero] [@Xandrya] [@Automaton] [@Remipa Awesome] [@Thundercrash] [@AcerRo]
