When Bao was born his parents decided they needed to take control of things and hid in a ship that took them to America with nothing on them but a few Renminbis and whatever clothes they could bring with them. After a couple hard years of finding odd jobs the couple were able to make enough good money, especially with help from Bao's grandma who was living in New York City with her successful business. Letting them buy a nice house in a small town in Nebraska. However when Bao's parents moved there, around the time Bao himself was around 6. The Chinese family wasn't taken well by the locals who didn't take very well to immigrants. The hassled the family, calling them every slur in the book. Eventually a chapter of the KKK came into town at some of the locals suggestion. While they had only wanted to put a flaming cross on the family's front yard. The fire from it spread uncontrollably and eventually set the house on fire. Bao was saved by local firefighters but his parents were killed in the flames. Those who had put the flaming cross out were charged, and Bao was forced to move to New York City where his grandma lived. While the transition from the country to a city like NYC was jarring at first Bao eventually grew to love the city life more. Though his heart still ached for his parents he wanted to keep going stronger and better than ever for them. It showed in his athletic endeavors. At first Bao picked up aggressive in-line skating from other kids in his school. Often heading out at night and filming their riding sessions more for fun than anything else. His grandma, worried Bao might grow up to be a punk if he just had that as his hobby. Had Bao learn martial arts through friends of her’s. Although Bao wasn’t a fan of their teaching methods at first. He quickly learned to accept it and started showing exceptional skill and ability. Even winning a few martial arts exhibition contests. Eventually though Bao met a transferred student from France who taught him freerunning. Which quickly became Bao's other major passion. Both lended themselves to when Bao worked for his grandma's Chinese Restaurant. As he would usually be tasked with delivery which he accomplished in record times with his aggressive in-lining or freerunning. As the mutant scares escalated Bao suddenly felt wind around him get strangely more powerful and less powerful almost at random. One night he casually brought it up with his grandma at dinner. Following the news, and seeing parallels between the mutant epidemic and the same kind of unknowing fear that created the racism that killed Bao's parents. She quickly that next day arranged for Bao to be transferred to the academy under Mr. Latour. Bao was shocked at first, but now he's more than ready. People like the Equalists killed his parents, and he still has plenty of aggression to take out on someone because of that.
Appearance:
Stands at around 5‘7 and with a very lean athletic frame. Bao's wardrobe consist of pretty loose but still fitting clothes, inline shirts, fitness clothes, a few jeans, but more cargo shorts which he likes to wear, even in cold weather.
Powers:
Bao's powers is being able to control the wind through a kind of mental telepathy. Eventually with training Bao can use wind to essentially glide through the air and knock people around and out without using direct physical force.
Personality: Bao can be seen as a bit two faced when it comes to things outside of the X-Men and things away from that. Outside of being an X-Men Bao is a pretty cool dude to be around. Admittedly lazy in some ways, and a bit of a smart ass. He does work hard to be a good guy to be around and help out however he cans. However his background and history have led him to becoming one of the X-Men’s most formable fighters even without a strong handling of his powers. That coupled with a burning hatred for the kind of hate the equalists exhibit makes Bao a firecraker when its time for combat.
