Each picture had one thing missing: herself. It was always of something largely insignificant to the normal masses: trees, fences, graffiti or even junk. It didn't matter, not even to Analise Arnette. There was no meaning behind the pictures, no abstract message other than for her own memory. That's not to say that there weren't any pictures of her parents hidden around somewhere, those memories just as precious as the trash. She'd spent the summer shuffling between different states - or more specifically clinics. Sight-seeing wasn't the main motive for the Arnette family this summer, but that didn't mean Anna didn't have a fun summer! It's good to keep a positive outlook on things, right? It's not like its hard for Anna to be positive anyway, and she gladly embraced that trait. Settling the camera back down on the messy sheets beside her, Analise stood up slowly from her comfortable cocoon of a bed, crawling out of the little blanket fort she'd formed that night when she realised she was too jittery to sleep. She was anxious, yes, but elated to see her beloved friends once more. Hell, she was even willing to suffer through gym to see them again. Her light pink lips curled down into a little frown at the thought of gym. 'I'm probably still failing that this year...' The dreaded thought sat in her mind like an unwanted (drunk) uncle at a dinner party. Winston jumped on top of the bed, pawing at the sheets Anna was once sitting on before laying back down on his paws while watching his human with large beady eyes. "Winnie, were you really just waiting for me to get up from that spot?" The blonde royal pouted at her pup, getting nothing but a blank stare in return. It was times like these that Anna wonders whether her pup hated her, but the chipper girl knew otherwise. Or she just refused to believe it. "Alright, fine. You win, Winnie." Instead of cuddling her darling for an hour, Anna decided it was time to get dressed and maybe even surprise her parents with some breakfast later. She headed over towards her clothes, already ready and picked from the night before and still as blue as ever before picking it up and hanging it over her shoulder. Anna reached out for her phone that was sitting on the dressing table before swiping and scrolling to a name. Niles Rise and shine! I hope you're excited~! Hitting send, the girl then set her phone back down onto the table before heading towards her ensuite to get ready for the day. An hour later, a bright and perky blonde was out of the bathroom and sitting back down on her bed once more, this time ready for the school day ahead. "Will you wish me luck?" Looking towards her moody pup, Analise realised a little too late that Winston had taken her bed hostage as his bed. "...I'll take that as a no then." Accepting that her pup wasn't willing to give her any love that particular morning, the royal slipped out of her bedroom, heading towards the kitchen where she dismissed the cook with a polite (and sheepish) smile. "It's okay, Charlie, I'd like to make breakfast today. Would you like me to make you some tea while you read the paper?" Charlie, taken aback, declined the offer with a slow shake of his head. "Are you sure? I could assist if you'd like." This time it was Anna's turn to shake her head, the smile still on her face as she collected the pans and ingredients out of the large fridge. It was pancake morning. Or... it was supposed to be. 30 minutes later, Anna stared at the pan with a forlorn look on her face as the batter became something akin to charcoal in the pan. "Um, Charlie?" There was a hum from behind her, and she turned to look at the chef sitting on the island stool with an amused grin on his face. "Is it too late to take you up on that offer?" "Of course not, Miss Anna." The sad face turned into a childish pout. No matter how many times Anna insisted Charlie to drop the formalities around her, he refused to listen. The chef stood up, stepping around the island to take over the job as the cook as Anna prepared to watch carefully. "Charlie, did you let Anna cook pancakes again?" A low voice sounded from the doorway, the two (or one chef and one helper) cooks turning around to see Analise's father: Stephen Arnette leaning against the door frame, tiredly rubbing his forehead with out hand as his other held his glasses loosely. "It smells like a cremated squirrel in here." "It can't be that bad, can it?" Anna inhaled sharply, her nose desensitised to the burnt smell of her previously atrocious attempt at breakfast. Instead, the sweet smell of a properly cooked pancake filled her nose instead. "It smells great, dad, I don't know what you're talking about." "Oh yes of course, it smells like a sweet cremated squirrel, my bad." "Dad!" "Anna! Sweetie shouldn't you be at school?" This time it was her worried mother that piped up, a little more awake compared to Stephen. "I thought you wanted to arrive early to greet the freshmen?" That was true. Analise had spent so long getting ready and making breakfast that time had slipped past her. She yelped, looking at Charlie panickedly ("I'll serve it you your parents, Miss Anna, don't worry.") before running around the island to press a kiss to both her parents' cheeks and disappearing down the hallway. While Anna did arrive a little too late to welcome the fresh new faces to the scary halls of Beverly Hills High School, she arrived in time to slip into a seat close to the back in time for the assembly to begin. 'Maybe I'll have more luck at the fair.' Ever so hopeful, Anna listened to the same old speech again, this time with a little nostalgia - hey, it was her last time listening to it, why not cherish it a little? - and when it was time to leave, she was the first one out. Niles Nilessssssssssss where are you? Thought we should catch up! She noticed a tiny brunette talking to the volleyball captain, her eyes wide and a grin on her face as they discussed something (most likely about volleyball) before her eyes landed on Audrey's figure by the dance team's booth. A wide grin broke out on the blonde's face, and she bounded over to her friend - almost stumbling on her way there. "Audrey! I missed you!" She cried out, reaching Audrey and pulling her into a sudden hug. Oh, it was good to be back. Eva was certain it was supposed to be a lot more... fun than this. She'd already been at the campus before, knowing Alyssa and Connor made her already somewhat accustomed to the supposedly scary hallways. She'd been hyped, most certainly, since she'd graduated junior high months ago. It was mainly to see her closest friends - her partners in crime but she couldn't just credit her friends for all her excitement. This was a new chapter in her life, she was in high school now. A big girl, as her mother would love to remind her every second of the day. It was common knowledge to those that knew the brunette freshman that her relationship with her mother was complicated to say the least. It would've been hatred, if Evalyn didn't already like the spotlight that came with modelling. The assembly had been long and boring - just as she'd expected. It was just about the codes of conduct, rules and expectations - nothing out of the ordinary. It was just filled with other freshmen and sophmores, so she could only guess that the older students were already out doing their own little thing. It was boring, but at least Eva knew she'd be able to see Alyssa out there by the time her assembly was over. Eva had even arrived a little early to school so she could see the halls empty, slowly filling up with attractive and popular (some even famous) students. Just like Alyssa had taught her, she carefully considered each one (to the best of her novice ability) to determine whether they were someone Eva was willing to interact with. Last thing Evalyn wanted was a boring person to hang around with whenever Alyssa or Connor weren't available. When the students were dismissed, Eva left, joining a group of somewhat excited freshmen that she recognised from junior high and was guided out by a member of staff towards the football field where the Activity's Fair was taking place. She pulled her phone out of her shorts pocket, looking down with disappointment as she noticed no messages from Lyssy. Maybe she was waiting for her to message instead? Lyssy Okay so you were right, assembly was boringggggggg. Are you even at school yet? I'm waiting :( Pressing send, Eva approached the volleyball stand after breaking from the group. The freshman already knew which club she wanted to join, and after approaching the stand with a smile and somewhat hesitant stride she spoke, "Hi! I'm Evalyn and uh... when can I try out for the team?" The captain pointed towards a sticker on the board, and Eva's cheeks darkened. 'Oh... it was right there.' Cursing herself for being such a bonehead, she forced a smile on her face, stepping away from the stand with still heated cheeks. From the corner of her eye, she noticed a blonde girl literally glomping a brunette by the dance stand, with strength she didn't think the blonde had. 'And we got those types too, fantastic...' She missed Alyssa.
