Some time ago I got pretty excited when I saw FOX ordered a script from Len Wiseman (Underworld series) described as being 'the Dirty Dozen in space'. I haven't seen anymore on it, however, but the upcoming film Suicide Squad put me in mind of it again. I always thought about how cool it would be to do 'Suicide Squad' or 'Dirty Dozen' in space. It was the character-dependent formula of Mass Effect 2 that materialized the idea for me. When it comes to science fiction, one might imagine spectacular starships, brave heroes, and the beauty of an unexplored frontier. That's not what this is going to be about. Each character is required to be scum. That includes, but is not limited to, thugs, assassins, bounty hunters, criminals, smugglers, mercenaries - you know the type. After everyone has been recruited we will begin our adventure - or rather, a series of misadventures. But the RP isn't going to focus so much on the story as it is the characters. As the saying goes it's about the journey, not the destination'. Each of you will start with very little to no background, and this background will be explored over the course of the RP as each and every one of you interact and get to know one another. Ultimately, some of you may have special requests, or little jobs pertaining to your character's past/agenda, and the whole crew will help you complete that job - further cementing your loyalty and camaraderie. The bulk of the RP will take place on our starship, no doubt, as we interact and get to know each other. Every now and again we will embark on missions important to the storyline, and visit various locations to do god-knows-what. So... that's what I got. Bunch of bad, mysterious guys and gals on a starship doing dangerous stuff, all the while bonding with one another. Suggestions or posts of interest are welcome.
