~Charlotte Lachance~
"You could make a Mortar and Pestle?!" Charlotte immediately brightened at this. She clasped her hands together and stared brightly up at the ogre. That would be something she could definitely use. It wasn't something she could use to make some super complex concoctions, but she could make some powder-type medicines and remedies that could certainly be used to help people, especially if they get injured. She wasn't a craftsman at all, and couldn't make one herself so this action was something that was definitely welcome. "That would be much appreciated!" She said, following after him. Mostly, she didn't want to be alone at the moment. The chances of some predator or sneaky thing attacking her was low, but she wasn't a fighter by any means. The best she could do was snark something to death at the moment, or glare them down with a gaze of pure unadulterated hatred. Both of which, would likely be not so effective. She should make an effort to try and find some useful roots, berries, and herbs around here. Thankfully, it seemed Urgoth had noticed some berries himself further in. She'd have to collect some herself. "Berries?" She mused coughing quietly, regaining her composure just a bit. "I would say caution once again. There's no telling what those berries actually are...but if you're certain they're safe I shall trust your judgement." Urgoth seemed like a trustworthy sort, at least. "I'm going to take a few for myself. I am rather...accustomed to the properties of things. You can't tell much of how useful something is without running thorough tests, but I am confident in at least discerning some properties in certain ingredients." If she had some fresh water and a retort she could also possibly make some...at least, somewhat effective tonics. So the alchemist walked over to one of these berry bushes. Even if the berries weren't useful for anything other than foot, there was a chance the root could hold some properties when crushed or ground into a powder. He asked if she could search the coast for survivors and other possible wreckage. Though, she had to wonder what exactly the 'amazon' nickname was about. Normally, she would have said yes to such a thing. However, even being early autumn conditions weren't exactly the best for flying at the moment. "Hmm...that would be a good use of my skills, hunter," She replied. "but it is rather...cold. Garuda wings do not fly well in colder temperatures. It is unfortunate. If it was summer I would have done it without being asked. But it is cold in these lands compared to the forest, even during the summer. My wings will be of little help flying any higher than the trees I am afraid." She wasn't lying. Garuda wings were highly sensitive to cold temperatures, wind, and water. It was one of the reasons she was glad nothing was broken when she washed up on shore. Letting that water stagnate on her wings during the autumn months was asking to get frostbite on her wings, and that was not something that would help anyone. She'd likely have to be very careful with them in the coming months unless she wanted to seriously injure herself. She didn't get a chance to speak much further though, as she was interrupted by the elf. "What? It's not as if it isn't true, Do you have any idea what to do with it? I don't think so." An arrogant statement, though a true one. Garuda were not exactly a magically inclined race. A shaman was a rare thing among their people, wise and often revered as a source of learning and wisdom. Something this Elf seemed to not have at all, and that was rather disappointing. In fact, she would say this Elf was soiling the good name of shamans and magic users everywhere. "It's a magic gem, fire specifically, There's nothing else anyone here can do with it. Aside from, I don't know, make jewelry, but what a waste that would be. Only someone who has the capabilities of a mage can make use of it, and I'm the only one here who even has knowledge of spells. It's not idle arrogance when it's the truth." The Garuda simply narrowed her eyes at the Elf, wings shifting in mild annoyance. She gave a brief nod to Gamie, signaling she was done speaking to him as she spoke to the elf. "Perhaps not, cute little Elf. Truth is truth, as you say." She replied. "But arrogance is still arrogance. You think yourself the only one able to use it and immediately labeling another incapable. If you wish to help, and were not arrogant then you would have instead thought to see if there were others capable instead of immediately labeling all of them as incapable." And that was all she was going to say to the Elf on that matter. She had no reason to speak to her further, and at the moment it seemed something more required her attention. The fox needed help moving a beam, but as much as she would have been glad to assist her it seemed something that was more suited towards her skills appeared at the same time, and it seemed someone else had already managed that. "A snake...? I think that's a snake. Crap. Hope it ain't poisonous. Guys! Careful over here! Anyone got, like... Something to kill this thing? Or at least scare it off? I'm pretty sure we don't want to risk poison right now, y'know?" A snake? That was certainly cause for concern. She walked over to the Oni, calmly observing the serpent. A spear was far from an effective weapon at combating a swift moving, small snake. Unless they had another weapon, however, then that wasn't going to leave them with much of a choice. Not to mention, it looked like it was sitting on some valuable food. She had some experience in dealing with snakes at least. They were abundant in the forest. "Spears are not a good weapon against such creatures." She replied, with a shake of her head. However, that was what armor and protection was for. Her clothing may not exactly be the most flashy of things, but it was good enough to at least protect against a snake bite...probably. "But I think I am the best equipped. I shall handle it, Strong One." Also, if they could kill the snake, it'd mean another source of food for the day. What? Snakes were delicious when cooked and served with some alcohol and spices. Had nothing to do with being part bird at all, nope.
