We must make them feel like they need us.” “I agree, jeonha.” King Seo Tae Sun massaged his temples. He was in the uncomfortable position of leading the crisis committee that had been convened in the reaction to the Dominion’s conquest of Earth. Sitting with the governors of the Kingdom had been a tiresome procedure for him all his life and it wouldn’t be easier for his daughter in the future. Right now, though, she had the task of making sure that Admiral Tae had all the necessary supplies she would need to efficiently defend the border. “I think we should secure alliances first before we deal with the Dominion”, the governor of the Silla province pronounced breaking the silence. “With that in our hand, we might have some leverage against the dominion.” “He has a point.”, a couple of governors murmured in agreement including the one of Jin, one of the provinces caught in between the two Dominion borders, which was highly unusual since they, naturally, were known for their fear of the Dominion and would support anything to keep the fiend off their borders. A little bit of prattle was going on between the sector’s representatives when King Seo raised himself out of the chair he was sitting on and, under the eyes of everybody watching slowly marched towards the map of the known empires that was on the table and put down his finger onto a coloured blob that represented a nation. “There. The governor of Silla is right. We can’t afford trying to deal with the Dominion without any backup. Now, if we can get a deal with Musashi we’d have one of the biggest navies in the galaxy on our side… and!” The King lifted his finger in the air. “Musashi has very recently signed a defensive pact with the Dominion. If we can shove ourselves in between that, we might be able to secure the status quo.” With a smile on their faces, the governors of Silla and Jin nodded while others called the King a genius. Seo Tae Sun was used to that kind of sucking up to him and didn’t even acknowledge the career politicians who did so. His opinion on these… creatures was already well known in the Kingdom and even his daughter caught on to it and seemed to continue his “tradition” of hating the slimy politicians. But he could not do without them. King Seo motioned for the governors to rise. “I thank you all for your advice, now, however, I ask you to return to your posts and make sure your sectors remain peaceful. Yang Ji Han’s mission will fail if we don’t assure him that he has the popular support and maintain that support, good day, gentlemen.” After King Seo Tae Sun delivered his final statement, he left through the door to the palace grounds to seek out his wife, who was with head diplomat Yang Ji Han and his crew. You don’t need to preen every single one of your feathers!” A young Tatara called out through the hallway of the Pyeong-on. It was a tiny ship, just barely enough room for the three people currently living in it. One bathroom, one bathtub, one bedroom and two beds, which prompted the two girls to sleep in the same bed. The young, just barely eighteen, Tatara was called Sang Na Mi and she was currently complaining about her bedmate and companion, Yeo Ae Ri, a Nyali of the same age. Right now, the latter was using said only bathtub in the entire spacecraft. It was an arduous task, this mission to Musashi, especially in such cramped conditions. But all three, including their teacher and lead diplomat on this mission, Yang Ji Han, had gotten to know each other quite well during that time and now greatly appreciated each other’s presence… even if Ae Ri was hogging the shower all the time. Soon they would arrive in Musashi’s space and then they three would be responsible for Cheonsang’s survival or demise.
