[@Vec]: I had half a mind to be a sarcastic git here, but decided against that for the sake of not getting flamed like a skewer over a spit. First things first: No underground magicians or anything. Nope. While their existence may be feasible, the existence of such groups would be stomped out quite quickly, given how the humans within were able to survive the years of war. Being politically smart means you handle all problems from within the country just as much as you handle those outside them. Not to mention, well... If an incident like that is happening, intense crackdowns are almost guaranteed. If it happens in the years following war, then the Tawken humans now have the benefit of hiring whatever races are best for detective work, and the problem is solved posthaste. So no. Following that... This is the launching of a flagship on a symbolic voyage overseas, and thus would be occurring in broad daylight because publicity for publicity's sake. If it was late at night, the ship would likely have already sailed out a few miles, which is impossible for someone who was malnourished and weakened to swim, if they could even do so at all. If it's late at night before the voyage, then it's even worse, since there were (as I mentioned earlier) parties meaning to sabotage the voyage, and thus there would be guards to protect the ship overnight. So that part also fails. Next: Well... I was about to mention the issue of food and water, and I really can't overlook it. There's a limited supply of food and water on board, and with all the people there I'm fairly certain that people would notice if the stuff that was being rationed started disappearing. Stuff adds up. Next on the list: Two years of that mess. Two. Years. It's a miracle the kid didn't lose his sanity, much less retain the knowledge that you claim he did over that period of time. He's 14 now. 14. A 12-year-old kid would not retain that sort of information after years of experiments and torture. It's not feasible. Then there's the issue of magical abilities, which I'm not even going to BEGIN to rip apart because then I'd be here for another half an hour explaining why that sort of thing would not only wreck balance, but is unfeasible for the sustainability of the RP itself. So... Yeah. Complete and utter denial from me. Just... No. Also, a kid who has been malnourished would likely not be able to survive being capsized and floating out at sea like that. Brittle bones and stuff, combined with weak muscles and a lack of exercise... Nope. Would not live. At all.
