Personality can be it's own thing as it doesn't depend on their gift. The instrument, bio and gift should correlate in some way. For example, "throughout her middle school years, the trombone was always something she felt drawn to. . . " Then proceed to explain what her gift is. A given characters gift does not have to be directly tied to the instrument they play. If they are a singer however, their gift would naturally have something to do with their voice.
