As for my opinion I like the two worlds idea with the magic non magic places. Mostly because of all the potential for making up magical creatures. But a close second is the 100 year war, especially the playing with a dynasty family tree. hehe.

Goth nightmare is a simple and fun sounding. it would be my third place. 

I am not sure about the scifi. I adore futuristic, but it may be a bit big of a world  to tackle and technology vise discussion may end up taking the front instead of more interesting aspects like culture/history/important individuals that shaped the rich past.

ps I will be off tomorrow most likely because of travel but after that I am right back.
