[@Lacks] Just so we're clear, how common is it for a user of magic to be able to hear someone else's song? I would imagine it would be a rare and powerful ability that can be used only by those of great power (helpfully ruling out Alice before she can ruin your character dilemma!)

Edit: Maybe at a base level most mages can detect magic, talented ones can read magic and a few gifted users can actually hear it? Often at the loss of sanity due to listening inbetween realities...
