[b]Personality:[/b] Kathra is a steady, calm, person for the most part. She doesn’t bounce around like a young girl or lunge at the opportunity to fight and argue. This isn’t to say she’s a pushover though. She is also confident and sure of herself and her abilities. While at times she’s feisty she does her best not to be annoying or step out of place. There is a constant doubt deep within her that she does her best not to show, and while it may be a weakness it’s also a strength in that it has driven her to try her hardest and improve. It still has a way of edging in on her and causing her to hesitate at times. 

Due to her upbringing and way of life Kathra isn’t accustomed to expressing her softer emotions. This can cause her to seem distant or awkward during certain circumstances. A part of her does long for more compassion and tenderness, but she isn’t eager to admit it. 

[b]History:[/b] Like his father, Kathra’s father lived far out in the country and made his living trapping and hunting. After years of living alone he decided he wanted a wife, and as is the custom for many in the area he traded material goods for one. He treated her with kindness, respect, and, before long, love. She never reciprocated these feelings though. Her heart longed for a more glamours life in a big city, not living in a small cabin on the edge of the forest married to a man much older than her whom she didn’t love. For several years she stayed. Despite her efforts she had a child, Kathra. Her feelings towards Kathra were much like those she had for her husband. While she never abused or outright neglected Kathra she never showed her love either.
 
When Kathra was still a young girl her mother left with a trader who passed through on his way to the city. Heart broken, Kathra’s father packed her and their belongings in a wagon and set off in search of his wife. It took weeks to find her after arriving in the city and when he finally did he was sickened to see what she had become. Willingly she had sold herself into prostitution and didn’t show an ounce of regret. She was making good money, very popular with the men, and constantly had beautiful gifts given to her. Finally she had gotten the life she wanted. His eyes were opened to what she really was, and just like that he lost all love for her. 

Not wanting to return home, feeling as though it was tainted, Kathra’s father took a job as a member of the King’s Huntsmen. No longer having a mother to care for her Kathra spent her time with her father who gladly taught her his trade. She got to spend her days going on hunts, tending the hounds, and exploring the palace grounds. Along the way she met many different people. Huntsmen, stable hands, maids, cooks, servants of all kinds and even guards, knights, lords, and ladies. 

As the years passed Kathra’s abilities grew stronger and she earned her own place as a Huntsman. Eventually her father was promoted to head of the Huntsmen. This was a great honor for the both of them and they were always thankful for it. It wasn’t an easy life, especially for Kathra since a woman wasn’t considered worthy or able to perform such a job. Gradually though she made friends and was accepted by many. She used this as an opportunity to further her skills, asking her friends among the guards and knights to teach her how to fight. Kathra has become a talented hunter and a capable warrior. 

[b]Other:[/b] Kathra’s weapons are a bow and arrows, a shortened broad sword, and a number of knives. She’s accustomed to traveling light and living off the land, as she commonly does during hunts.

When she was appointed as a Huntsman her father gave her a pendant that was made of silver and turquoise shaped as a bird of prey. The pendant allows her to summon a small Griffin by the name of Stephanus. He has become her beloved hunting companion. Stephanus has low level magical tracking abilities. 

[b]Appearance:[/b] Standing 5’9”, above average for a human female, her overall figure is somewhat more broad than what is generally considered desirable. Kathra is a fit and sturdy person, not petite or frail in the slightest. She has long orange hair that is almost always tied back or in a braid. The countless hours she spends outdoors has tanned her skin and the many mishaps she’s endured have left her scared all over. Her hazel eyes show a certain sharpness that comes from her many years experience, this goes right along with her confident stance.
