It was probably a good sign that the first few minutes of open contact had not resulted in shooting just yet, especially from those vessels who were close to the same size as the Vorascant. Especially the one that named itself the Paramount. Carina had the feeling that a vessel like that could do quite a bit of damage to them before they got out of range or defeated it, and so she was glad instead to hear them offer to use their vessel as a meeting space. "They are scanning us," Alera noted as she continued to face ahead, seeing beyond the ship itself to the void beyond. Carina wasn't surprised by that, of course, and while they might get some things they wouldn't be able to see everything. Such was the nature of the technology that they possessed. Carina nodded, looking over the various holographic screens in front of her. "It's alright," she told them with a calm mood. "We have nothing to hide." The Unity did not act through deception, though they could. For the moment it was hearts and minds which would ensure their security in this place. "I don't like it," Lorana said with a shake of her head. "It could be a trap, and if we lose you then we shall be without guidance in a far off place, surrounded by potential enemies." "She has a point," Alera noted, now turning to look at Carina. "If we attend this meeting then you should send someone else. Any of us can represent the Unity as easily as you." Carina shook her head, grateful for the advice but making her decision nonetheless. And with her mind made up no one would contest it. "They will expect to see the Captain of this vessel. To send someone of lesser rank may offend them, even if they do not know how our culture operates." Given the various strange societies and ships present, she did not want to spark a conflict sooner than she had to. "if that is your decision," Lorana ceded at last, not happy but accepting of it. "If they betray us then no one here will forgive them." Their vengeance would burn the very stars themselves, as the TEC had so unfortunately learned. Carina smiled nonetheless, nodding. "I know." With that she turned to the radio, once again speaking to those she had addressed before. "We shall attend the offered meeting as well." That done she turned to the other crewmembers on the bridge, ready for anything. "Make sure the ship continues with repairs while I am away," she told them before heading for the hangar bay. She had the feeling that this was going to be an interesting meeting
