Years have passed since the bloody times of the Meiji Restoration, when the Emperor got his divine power back from the hands of the Shogun usurpers. The Empire of Japan is now living an era of peace and prosperity like never before, but this peace is threatened by the encroaching of foreign powers who seek to besiege Japan and force it to surrender its freedom. To fight off these invaders, the Imperator tapped on the forbidden powers of the Twelve Demon Lords, however, this has driven him insane, or so is said.

Now, the Empire of Japan is getting ready to bring the war back to its enemies doorsteps, using the supernatural power of the Demon Kings, the Emperor wants to force the whole world to bow down before the Imperial Flag.

However, there are those who oppose the Emperor's divine order. Backed by the last descendant of the Shogun, they call themselves the Sakura Revolutionaries and are against the Emperor's decision to employ the power of the Demon Kings and this war of aggression against the entire world.

The two factions fight a shadow war everyday, with the destiny of a whole nation or maybe even the whole world at stake. Who'll get victorious out of this conflict?
