[b]Background:[/b] Kaen belonged to a small gold mining village in the Northlands, when he was a babe the village came under attack by bandits. A wandering hermit was passing by when he saw the smoke and heard the screams of the people. The hermit was Ryuu, master of the Dragon Style, and he combated the bandits in the name of the villagers. Master Ryuu was able to beat back the bandits, but not before taking a bullet to the knee. 

Unfortunately the villagers had all but been murdered by the marauding bandits. It was when Master Ryuu was preparing to leave that he heard the faint cries of a child inside a burning building. Selflessly, he rushed in and rescued the infant the infant that he would later name Kaen, in honor of those lost that day.

Not exactly knowing how to treat a small child, Master Ryuu would raise and train Kaen more like a student than a son. He provided a somewhat harsh, spartan and very disciplined lifestyle. Since Master Ryuu had been crippled during his fight against the Bandits he had decided that Kaen would be the one to take on the task of preserving the Dragon Style of fighting.

He would train Kaen hard until the day that Kami came to him, telling him of the trouble in the south and that they would need the help of his student. Reluctantly agreeing, knowing that Kaen's training was not yet complete, Master Ryuu sent Kaen forward to aid with the will of Kami and lend them support.

[b]Training:[/b] Kaen is the sole practitioner of the Dragon Style of combat, a vicious style of combat that relies rending strikes and controlling the tempo of battle by pressing the attack and overwhelming your opponent. The Dragon Style practitioner uses their bodies Ki to strengthen their attacks, amplify their speed and increase their durability. 

[b]Abilities:[/b] Flame Breath – Kaen is capable of releasing a breath of Ki that takes on the properties of fire. The fire while hot, and capable of burning human opponents, is not yet strong enough to melt stone or steel like Master Ryuu's is. 

[b]Items:[/b] He carries a backpack with only basic items for traveling.

[b]Bio:[/b] Kaen is just over six foot and as one might expect of a martial artist is in incredibly good shape. The tattoo of a dragon extends down his left arm, signifying his allegiance to the Dragon Style and as an apprentice to Master Ryuu. He ritualistically keeps his body free of all hair except for eyebrows, which are a deep black.
