[@Doc Doctor] The smell of trash and piss met Joey's nose when he turned the corner into the alley leading to his apartment, scowling he pulled his leather jacket tighter around himself against the chilly air. Talking to himself, he sighed out "Damn, a day like today could tire even someone like me out. I'm not doing any more jobs for that dick. It's time to move..." before he could finish, the slightest flash of light, to quick for Joey to notice, and the sound of a gun going off rang out. Without thinking Joey rushed next to the wall and flattened himself to it. Straining his eyes Joey looked for something, anything. Nothing. Joey didn't see the shooter at the end of the alley, didn't know of the danger he faced as he relaxed and stepped away from the wall. He still moved cautiously though, to many years on to many different sides of the law taught him to be careful. Joey began walking towards his apartment halfway down the alley, the barest hint of cigarette smoke wafting past him, when he noticed the figure standing near his apartment building. On high alert still, he was certaint that very soon he'd know the source of that gunshot.
