The alone part is because it's easier to ignore someone when you can at least pretend to not notice them by talking to people you're walking with, but evangelism in general irks me. It's the church/bible study/ christian club/etc begging for members, so remember that they're the ones begging others to join them, and they have nothing aside from Christianity (and [i]maybe[/i] free food, but that's less likely) to offer in return.
