Well, considering that Zoru was a bloodthirsty wolf before who thrived in the battlefield, it was obvious why he would vote for Desaius. But he didn't become Alpha and Zoru got an injury. Once he mellowed down, he got why Desaius never became Alpha. It was because of his attitude.
