[indent]Jacob is a hard-ass. Anyone who knows him from work will tell you he’s a tough man to love, an easy man to like and a good man to respect. He pushes his employees to work to the bone but will sit right next to them during an all-nighter eating take-out. This has earned Jacob the reputation of a fair leader. He grants his employees extended paid leave, medical insurance and is always down to listen if there is something important going down in your life. Be it a wedding or a funeral. In return he asks them to give him every minute they can spare. Merges get shorter deadlines than the industry standard dictates. Deals are sharper and he’s not afraid to yell at an employee for screwing up.

At home, where he isn’t often, he is spent quite often. He lives in a pretty small villa for the area’s standard, but as he lives alone he’s happy with not having a too big house. He often tries to relax, not looking up any excitement like partying because he knows he got plenty of “excitement” at work. He rarely gets visited too. By all accounts of his employees, he pretty much lives like a hermit. Which isn’t entirely true. He won’t slam the door in your face if you come ringing. He’s welcoming, but rarely will he ever invite someone over.[/indent]

[indent]Born from Leonel Darcy and Samantha Upenheimer, Jacob’s future was planned until his 50th birthday by the moment he was born. As second son he was destined for a world of hard work at another company than the Darcy Bank. For his brother would inherit the CEO chair. In his early life, he never fully understood what that meant. Still, he was groomed to fulfill an important role in the high society of the world. From an early age he was enrolled in the Lacrosse and judo club. Teaching him physical and mental discipline. To enhance his mind even more, they taught him how to play the piano at home. All in all, Jacob’s early life was filled with activities. Most he liked. Those he did, he never lasted in for long.

His older brother, Darell, seemed a lot more carefree. Despite going through the same kind of grooming, Darell appeared to still have a lot of free time. To Jacob this meant he was just far better at it so he had to practice less. Pushing himself to become more like his older brother, Jacob kept going with the activities well into high school. He had a few friends there, but nothing worthwhile. When Jacob turned 18, Darell suddenly announced he would leave for Hawaii. His parents were utterly flabbergasted by this. Suddenly their heir and oldest son vanished. This sent them into a depression that was kept behind closed doors, even for the family. For another 2 years, when Jacob was at college, their marriage deteriorated. Until his mother simply vanished. This drove his father towards alcohol.

In the meantime, in absence from his own family, Jacob rose to new heights. He graduated from Harvard with a degree in Advanced Economics. He got a junior job at the NWTB (New World Traders Bank) and showcased his talent and hard work. Which made him a blip on the seniors from the NWTG, the umbrella corporation of all the NWT-institutes. They gave him a shot as Junior Manager and he swiftly rose the ranks even there. Now, in a time of computer advancement and the requirements of fresh minds to keep the world flowing, the board of directors took a risky shot at promoting Jacob to CEO. So far, he has not let them down. Yet.

Now the family that he long left behind called on him again. His father is a miserable drunk and the worst part about that: he knows it. In a fit of desperation, he called his only remaining son, telling him the family honor would rest on him during the wedding. His father would only be a disgrace for his nephew, so Jacob would have to represent that side of the Darcys.[/indent]

[indent]Drinks quite a bit of alcohol. This never affected his job and he can drink with moderation at an official company party or places like that. However, should one be foolish enough to put him in a club and he will start draining the bar down (and get obscenely drunk).
