While he may be injured (and this takes quite some effort to do), Herakles has the ability to recover quickly from any injury. -Heraklean Strength: Herakles’ strength is almost immeasurable. In the sense of raw power, Herakles is the strongest of all the Olympians (although Zeus is still the most powerful when other factors are taken into account). -Olympian Physiology: As the son of Zeus, Herakles has the endurance, speed, and durability of the Olympian gods. Characters Skills: -Weapons Master: Herakles is proficient in various hand-to-hand and ranged combat. These include bows, spears, swords, and even unarmed fighting (boxing or wrestling). As the greatest hero of Greece, his adventures allowed him to hone these skills and become a dangerous warrior. Origin Story:
Sing, Muse, of the hardships of Herakles, The Lionhearted son of Aegis-bearing Zeus, The greatest hero among all mortals. Remind us how he withstood the ire of Hera, From the very moment of his conception, When Zeus, the father of Gods and Men, Laid with Alkmene for three entire nights, While her husband, Amphitryon, was away in war And their slave, Sosia, was blocked and confounded By Hermes, the trickster son of Zeus, Up until our present modern day. Even as a little babe, he suffered her wrath. Before he strangled with his bare hands The two snakes sent by Hera, Little Herakles was exposed to the elements. Grey-eyed Athena, always mindful, Handed the child over to queenly Hera, Who was unaware of the child’s identity. But while suckling the babe in her arms, Hera, experiencing the strength that only The stock of Aegis-bearing Zeus would have, Tossed Herakles aside from her breast. Rage, rage sent from Hera always seized The mighty son of Aegis-bearing Zeus. For every time he was sent into a mindless rage And slayed someone close to him, Herakles had to be purified for these actions. He became a shepherd because of Linus, A slave of Omphale’s on account of Iphitus, And he undertook his twelve labors, Prescribed by Eurystheus, the descend of Perseus, After he had slaughtered his wife, Megara, And his own dear little children. Even after the son of Zeus had atoned for his errors, Hera planted seeds of worry in Deianira’s head, That she too would be thrown aside for Herakles’ next conquest. Thinking that she would regain his love, Deianira gave to her husband a robe, Soaked in Nessus’ blood and the Hydra’s venom. The endless pain of this sinister gift drove The mighty son of Aegis-bearing Zeus To throw himself upon a pyre and to command One of his faithful companions to set him aflame. These healing flames burnt away his mortal form And Herakles was welcomed into Olympus By all the gods and Hebe, the young lass of Hera, Was wedded to the one who had just been lifted up Into the heavens and enrolled in the gods. Bring us to our own time, Muse, And tell us of the age of heroes, At whom the horseman Nestor would shake his head in shame. Long has it been since an Olympian press his foot upon The Earth’s rich and well-populated soil. Once Thor, the thundering son of Suebian Hermes, And the might son of the Aegis-bearing Zeus Met each other in a fierce battle, Just like two bucks interlocking their horns together As they battled one another over the affection of a doe. In this way did these two gods fight and victory teetered between the two combatants, Just like the ebb of the ocean when Its waves rolls onto the shore and receded back Into the domain of the Earthshaking Poseidon. Long and hard-fought was this struggle And in the end, neither godlike son achieved victory So that a stalemate had to be called. But when Thor, the thundering son of Suebian Hermes, Was banished to Earth and became its new protector, White-armed Hera contrived a plan to punish The mighty son of Aegis-bearing Zeus, Because her hatred for him still remained in her heart. Therefore, the queenly goddess summoned Pheme, The ever-spreading rumor of fame and infamy, And commanded her to make it known That some mortal, whoever he is I don’t know, Has taken up the mantle of a god, Thor, the thundering son of Suebian Hermes, And was making a mockery of his noble name. Muse, help guide me, just as a favorable wind Pushes the sails of a ship over the ocean’s waves, So that I might recount how this plot tricked The mighty son of Aegis-bearing Zeus Into confronting Thor, the Thunderer. Tell us how this second struggle, A tale that both men and gods shall sing of, Pitted these two gods against one another And how this dispute might be settled.
Story Arcs: Sons of Gods: Long ago, Hercules and the Norse God, Thor, fought each other that eventually ended in a stalemate. Now, word has come to Hercules’ ears that some imposter is using the name of his worthy adversary. It is time to show this imposter the Might of Hercules! Love & War: Herakles must prevent the Omphalos from falling into the wrong hands, so that they might not reshape the world in their image. The Wrath of Hera: Hera continues to make more plots to make Hercules’ life difficult. Maybe releasing a bunch of supervillains from SHIELD custody might be a good start. The 2nd Titanomachy: For centuries, the Titans have been imprisoned in Tartarus, the max-security prison in Erebus. But know, since they have escaped this prison, it is time for Kronos and his siblings to retake their rightful place as the high gods and the rulers of Earth. Team Potential: Whether it is with the Avengers, the Champions, or some other team, Hercules will be a valuable asset for any group that accepts him into their ranks. Supporting Cast: Allies and Friends: Athena: The Greek Goddess of Wisdom and Warfare. Half-sister of Herakles and constant companion of various Greek heroes, including Herakles. Zeus: The Father of Gods and Men. Hebe: Half-Sister and Wife. Various brothers and sisters: Zeus has over 100 kids. That’s WAY too many to list here. Frenemy: Thor: The Norse God of Thunder. Hercules had a monumental battle against this god in the past. He is an equal in Hercules' strength. Enemies: Hera: Queen of the Gods and Consort of Zeus. Punishes Zeus’ lovers and their children because Hera herself does not have many important children. While the marriage between Hebe and Herakles was supposed to end her feud, sometimes Hera just cannot let a grudge go. Hippolyta: Queen of the Amazons. Ares: The Son of Hera and Zeus, despised by all of the gods, save Aphrodite. Neutral: Hades: Ruler of the Underworld. Satisfied with his lot, but hates it when people break into his house and steals his possessions, like Kerberos.
