Jaden-Pallet Town
Jaden waited eagerly for the Professor to finish his speech before hurried coming up to select one of the many pokemon. The Professor's warning about choosing wisely had fallen on deaf ears for him, as he snatched up the very first one he could get his hands, looking down at with a slight frown before walking over to one of the Professor's assistants. Excuse me Sir, I hate to bother you, but I was wondering if you could help me with something. "Oh, it's no trouble at all, young man. What may be the issue?" I was wondering if you could take back this pokeball, as well as all the others ones the Professor gave to me. The young man stated with a sweet smile on his face, seeming completely oblivious to the dumbfounded expression that took over the man's face as he heard the boy's request. I don't plan on using them. "Wait a second, do you mean to get rid of your first pokemon, just like that? Then why did you even-" No, I'd never abandon them like that. . . but I also don't like the thought of keeping them locked away in their pokeballs either. It doesn't seem quite right to me, as I know I wouldn't like that if I were in their shoes." The assistant looked a bit perplexed, but gave a nod, easily following the boy's train of thought. "While I get what you're saying, you do know that'll make it much harder to build your team and . . . I really can't convince you otherwise can I?" The assistant gave up half-way in his argument as he saw Jaden seem to dig his heels, not seeming to move an inch. The man sighed, rubbing the bridge of his knows before gently taking the pokeball from Jaden. "Fine, if you insist, I'll take this pokeball and release the Pokemon inside. However, do know that if they decide to run off or stay here in the lab, then that'll be the end of your journey. Once again I must ask, are you absolutely sure about this?" Jaden merely nodded his head, a determined look on his face as he stood there. The man let out a sigh before placing the Pokeball in a machine, then typing in some commands. The ball quickly began to shake back and forth before popping upon, depositing it's contents directly on the lab floor in a dazzling display of light. As the light began to take shape, the assistant tossed the pokeball back at Jaden, who (not expecting it) fumbed a bit to catch it, nearly tripping his own feet. "If you want my advice, keep the Pokeballs. Just in case you have a change of heart. Good luck kid, you're sure going to need it." Jaden nodded to the man, stowing away the Pokeball in his bag along with the other supplies the professor had, then turned to who would hopefully be his new friend and partner. Kneeling down so that they could look each other eye to eye, he offered his hand to them, a warm smile on his face as he introduced himself to the pokemon before him, a petite little Vulpix in a beautiful red dress that Jaden recognized as a Kimono, which was a traditional garb of the Kanto region, and more to the point, was extremely well-made. Hello there, my name is Jaden Locke and, if you'll have me, I'd like to be your trainer. I'm kinda of new to all this, and may not be the most capable, but I'm sure that we'll have a ton of fun journeying together."
