Jaden -Pallet Town
A shaky first impression and a sudden declaration Jaden's smile became slightly strained as the small pokemon called him 'Master', a title he was very familiar with and irritated him to no end whenever ii was directed at him. He was quick to recover, however, as she asked him to name her. The question drew honest confusion to Jaden's face as he considered it a bit before responding. "Please excuse my rudeness, but how can you not have a name? What have people been calling you all your life? I don't really think it's right for me to impose my own horrid naming sense upon you so, if you truly are without a name to call your own, then take sometime to think of what you'd like to be called. Until then, however, would you be adverse to me calling you . . ." The young trainer froze for a bit, his mind running blank before he reached back into his bag to pull out his brand new Pokedex, easily finding the small girl's entry in the data log due to the fact that she was the only pokemon he had met. Reading through the information presented quickly in search of some form of inspiration, he looked back at the girl every now and then, trying to come up with something that he thought would fit her until she found one of her own." . . . V(i)? Would that be fine until you can think of something you like more?" Jaden's face was somewhat flushed as he spoke, embarrassed by the overwhelming simplicity and lack of real imagination and thought put into it, even if it was only to be a place holder. Before he could possibly get a response from the small pokemon, which he now knew to be a Vulpix, he felt a faint tapping on his shoulder. After muttering a quick 'Excuse me a moment' to his partner, he turned to see who exactly wanted something from him, curious since he doubted anyone would recognize him or his family name this far from Kalos. Somewhat surprisingly, it turned out to be a short blonde girl who looked a few years his junior, and was apparently now his rival if her declaration was anything to go by. Jaden seemed a bit confused at first, as he didn't even know this girl, much less did he think he did anything to offend her, but then he realized that she meant rival in the more friendly connotation. He remembered reading in a book on Trainer lingo that trainers usually declared rivals during their journeys in order to spur on the competitive spirit between them and foster a stronger growth for both individuals. As this realization dawned on him, the quizzical expression on his face would be replaced by a wide, excited grin before he placed his hand over his heart and gave a small bow towards his new rival. "A pleasure to meet you, Miss Rasa." He spoke with what would seem like an unusually dignified air when compared to how he spoke with his new pokemon partner, and as he rose, there seemed to be a glint of steel in his gaze. While Jaden wasn't really the competitive type, he felt it would be rude to meet the girl's declaration with his usually lackluster attitude towards competition. Besides, he'd have to get used to it, since it was one of the ways one could get their pokemon partners to grow in strength, and if he wanted to travel, he'd need to make sure his pokemon were as strong as possible. "My own name is Jaden Locke, and I hope that when we next meet I don't disappoint you." He reached out with his hand in greeting and, after that, would step to the side to showcase the young Vulpix by his side, about to say something when he noticed how disheveled her appearance was from her recent tumble, most noticeable her Kimono. He had been to excited to pay attention before, but now that he took a good look at her, he couldn't help himself and bent down to promptly fix it, muttering a rapid series of 'excuse me's and 'sorry's as he went about doing it. Once he had finished, if everything went well, the Kimono would once again be properly set, and then Jaden would turn back to Rana to continue the introduction. "Sorry about that, now, if you will allow me to introduce partner for my Pokemon Journey. I'd tell you her name but apparently she doesn't have one, a fact which I can't help but find rather odd given that she doesn't look that much older than you. How could one go so long without receiving any kind of title to identify themselves is most perplexing . . . oh, that reminds me." Turning towards his tiny pokemon with a smile still fixed on his face, he gestured towards his rival. Have you come up with any name ideas yet? Cause while V(i) isn't a bad name to use as a placeholder . . . I would rather not use it for personal reasons. Of course, it's completely up to you, it's your name.
