Jaden Locke -Pallet Town
Another shaky start "That's a rather odd rule of thumb, if you ask me." Jaden said, his face sporting a frown as he found the idea of going his whole life without a name until some random person came and gave him one rather upsetting. Before he could comment on it further however, his partner spoke up, declaring that she would be known as Vix from hear on. Jaden nodded at first, though he did flinch once more as she called him Master again, though the emphasis placed on it was lost on him. However, what caused Jaden to drop his mouth open in shock was when she spoke to Rasa. He was left slightly flabbergasted by the sudden change in attitude, unsure what caused her to say that, before he turned to Rasa, giving a much lower bow to his new rival. "I'm truly sorry for my partner's behavior, I really don't know what came over her. I'll be heading on my way, so I hope to see you again." With his apology stated he ran outside to talk to Vix, looking less than pleased(though not in a way that spoke of anger or anything like that, just shock and disapproval). "Vix, I don't know what that was all about, but you really shouldn't be rude to people, especially someone you just met. No matter how much you don't like someone, you should always try your best to be polite and cordial." The young man would've went on, as the look on his face made it clear that this was something he wanted to make sure she understood, but before he could, the sound of tires turning on a dirt road and lots of people gasping caused him to turn his head. As he soon as his eyes locked on the approaching vehicle, his face would pull into one of disgust and frustration for a moment, though eh quickly hid it under a mask of calm politeness as he whispered under his breath. "Arceus, why must you test me like this?" Pulling up in front of the Pokemon center was a black limo flanked by two black SUV's, the windows shaded to prevent anyone from looking into the vehicles. The Limo would stop a bit further away from it's escorts, the driver side door opening as the rather meek looking Ratatta driver stepped out to open the passenger side door, before quickly stepping out of the way. From the depths of the luxury vehicle stepped a rather stern-looking man dressed in what could only be a deep-red suit that looked like it was worth more than a majority of the town he was in. Looking around with a somewhat dismissive glare, his gaze focused on Jaden, focusing first on his hair, then his attire, before finally falling on Vix. He said nothing for a little while, just observing his Nephew with a heavy silence in the air. This would continue for only a tiny bit longer before the man finally deemed it worth his time to speak. "I still can't believe my brother let you dye your hair, much less dye it white of all things. You look like a clown, I hope you know." "It's nice to see you too, Uncle, I do hope the drive wasn't too much of a trouble. I do thank you for driving my hiking supplies out here." The man merely clicked his tongue as he looked towards the Pokemon Lab that Jaden had come out of. "This entire venture of yours is much more vexing then any simple errand, though I do hope you don't expect me to do this everytime you need something. I'm a busy man, and I don't have the time to assist you in playing Trainer. Just be sure to contact me when you give up this fool's errand or actually start acting like your taking this endeavor with a modicum of seriousness." "Uncle, I assure you that I'm-" Jaden began, only to be shut down by his Uncle, who merely had to glare at him in order to cow the young man into silence. "You're dead serious, yes, I know what you've told your parents a million times to get them to give in, but let me ask you something. Is this one currently registered to a Pokeball? "Well no, I had Vix released shortly after getting her because as I've said I-" Once again, Jaden spoke up only to be silence, this time by his Uncle slapping him full across the face. Jaden wouldn't even flinch, struggling not to show any emotion to his Uncle, knowing the man would be quick to berate him even more if he did. "Watch how you talk to me, boy, cause as long as you're in Kanto, you have to answer to me. . .*tch* your parents have clearly been to soft on you if you think you can talk back to me like that. I've heard your naive idealistic drivel many times before, so let's skip it and come back to reality, shall we? If it's not registered to a Pokeball, that means that it isn't under any obligation to stay by your side, making barely any different then the layabout strays that you will meet on your travels. As such, as soon as it sees what an immature child and fool you are, it is, more likely than not, going to abandon you when you least expect, or perhaps call upon some others so they can rob you of your valuables. Why you decide to put your faith so utterly in such a creature, more than anything else, is a sign of how terribly naive you are." As Jaden's Uncle continued to berate him, Vix wouldn't see that while his face remained as unchanging as stone, the hands which he had placed behind his back were curled into fists so tight that his knuckles were turning white from the pressure. He would remain silent for a bit, causing his uncle to raise a brow at him in question, wondering what he was going to do. He was about to ask if the creature had taken his tongue already when he suddenly spoke up again. "Well I'm sure you've reasons for feeling the way you do, Uncle, I will have to respectfully disagree. Now, if I have your leave, me and Vix here have to head off for Route one and talk battle strategies for the Pewter City Gym, which as I'm sure you can see will be rather difficult given our current Team composition. I've got a lot of work to do, and I'm sure you know that there are only so many hours in the day." Jaden's tone was a bit harsher then he'd meant it to be, his feelings managing to slip into his speech after the Man had started insulting his partner like that. While he hadn't meant to let it slip out, he also would refuse to go back on it, and thus readied himself for another dose of his Uncle's punishment. However, the man would simply narrow his eyes, his gaze seeming to pierce the boy before he seemed to relax, not finding it to be worth his time to reprimand the boy. There would be plenty of time for that later on, as he was going to be the boy's guardian until he inevitably gave up on this fool's errand. As he went to return to his limo, he left the boy with a few parting words. Very well, then I'll be out of your hair for now, though I'll be sure to test out your skills sometime later in the future and test the true extent of your resolve. Until that point comes, I bid you a good day Nephew." With his piece said, Jaden's uncle quickly went back into his car and the escort was quick to ride out of the small town, leaving the few town folk to talk and gossip, eyes turning every now and then to look at the white haired boy and his Vulpix partner. Jaden, who had been so chipper and bright before, looked rather depressed and low-energy as his Uncle left, though this was quickly over come by anger as he suddenly started walking off towards Route 1, muttering a great number of curses and vulgarities towards his Uncle as he did so. As he walked he would assume that Vix was following, though would be quick to notice if she wasn't and wait for it. Whatever the case,as soon as his anger passed, he would once again enter a depressive state taking a seat on the outskirts of Pallet town with an frustrated sigh. Of all my relatives, why is it that only one would watch me is the one I can't stand? Damn that bigoted bastard, only reason he came personally was so he could shame me in public, I'm sure of it. He'd continue to mutter for a bit, rubbing his reddening cheek, only to let out a hiss of pain as it still stung a quite a bit.
