Well don't feel like you have to change things on my account, but I think it will streamline your writing. You don't have to dream up new connections between factions, or new ranking systems, and now you can run it as a prequel (preferably) or sequel (less so because it hasn't finished yet) to the main continuities events. (Which I think  would be a good idea, as you can have characters make surprise appearances).

If you think that your writing skills are good enough that you don't need ToG's story as a backbone don't let me stop your creativity. I'm in either way.
