Leisy Takigawa
”Hm,” Leisy hummed, examining the shelves of merchandise. A colorful array of bottles and containers lined shelves of the Pokecorp store, but Leisy was unfamiliar with it all. Burn heal, Leisy read off the label of a green spray bottle. A spray-type medicine. It heals a single Pokémon that is suffering from a burn. The girl pursed her lips, frowning. Is this usable for humans? Setting the bottle down, Leisy made her way over to the counter where a cheery clerk in a blue uniform apron greeted her. “What can I do for you today?” he asked, flourishing his hand over his wares. “See anything you’d like?” ”I’m actually at a loss for what to get,” Leisy admitted, flashing the man a awkward smile. ”Any pointers? I’m heading to the mountains for the first time, and I only have one pokemon.” ”Well if you only have one pokemon, you should probably get a pokeball,” the pokemart worker said, pointing to the red-and-white capsules in the shelves behind him. ”They’re five trainer points each.” ”Trainer points?” Leisy echoed, confused. The clerk gave the girl a friendly smile. “It’s the currency popularized by Poke Corp. Whenever you see new pokemon, catch pokemon, or defeat wild pokemon, your pokedex will automatically add points to your account,” the man explained, pointing to a list of items for sale hanging on the wall behind him. “Here’s the items that the Poke Corp is only selling for trainer points. All other items are sold for regular currency, so even the richest individuals can only get so far as a trainer if they don’t do any training themselves,” the pokemart worker explained. “So, what about that pokeball?” ”That’s perfect,” Leisy said, handing over her pokedex. The man did the necessary button-pressing before handing Leisy her pokeball with a smile. “Use responsibly,” the man said, smiling at her. ”Thank you,” Leisy said, receiving the yellow bottle with wide eyes. Waving goodbye to the clerk as she exited the pokemart, Leisy suppressed a wave of giddiness. She had her second pokeball!
[@balthazar007]
