She reached out and touched the splinters and then began inspecting the rest of the table. "Hmmm." Kassidy's mood was plummeting by the second. Her mom didn't look mad but she was sure that the damages she had shown her just added to the problems she already had. She watched as Susan tried leaning against the table the way she had the night before, expecting the wood to splinter under her mom's weight. But nothing happened. "Do what you did last night," Susan instructed as she patted the area just beside the damaged part. Kass complied. She put her hands on the table and leaned forward to look out the window, the exact same thing she did the night before. Nothing happened. "Strange. I don't think it's termites. But I can be wrong. I'll have to call pest control later for inspection," Susan said. "Hey Kassidy!" came a cheerful voice. Kass turned around and saw a familiar face. Leo Reagan. She was a nice girl and one of the few that she actually often conversed with when they were still in school. She excused herself from her mom, who was still puzzling over the hand shaped damage, and headed to the freckled girl. "Hey Leo. What's up?" she smiled and greeted back. She blinked when she noticed the sudden change in her expression. She went behind the counter and got the girl the water she asked for. "Here you go," she laid the glass of water on the table and slid it towards Leo. "Are you okay?"
