"If they let us run, circle back. They never expect you to circle back," Delta whispered to the rat man. He would be OK. Or at least that's what Fox assumed from the smile. He would be alright, and if one that got immediately pushed around, he would be alright too. The woman's steely gaze made Fox forget the thought of being alright. She made him want to run into the jungle or go back to sitting in the truck. He couldn't do either though. Delta just closed his eyes, waiting for them to speed up the inevitable. The thought of death made him shiver and then stand still. Not even a slight twitch of his ear. This was Delta moving the panic to the inside. He wanted to go home, where ever that was.
