A nation state forged anew in the anvil of war. The Veldlands, named so because of the vast vistas of plains and hillocks upon which the nation sits, is a nation heralding a distinguished history of naval prowess and colonization which before it's annexation under the Great Tyrant, had allowed the nation to flourish for centuries under an ever shifting government. This second-rate naval power, ever shadowed by the major powers in it's neighbors and the likes Gilbradia, would find itself annexed in the early 19th century.

When war did break out between the allied powers and the Great Tyrant some years later, and the tide turned, the Veldlandians would overthrow the Tyrannical rule in 1813 with the backing of the Empire of Gilbradia. And, after the Velandian-Gilbradian Treaty of 1814, would go onto name their state the "Unified Veldlands" which would gain official recognition following the Tyrants defeat, by the Congress of Nations in 1815 which would oversee the state's official recognition as "The Unified Kingdom of the Veldlands", the unification of the past nation's provinces and the reinstatement of the rule of House Orlowski which had since escaped to the safety of Gilbradia. 

A short amount of time has passed since it's resurgence as a nation, and the Unified Kingdom now under the rule of King Edmund I Orlowski, finds itself in an uncertain period of it's history and not entirely unscathed, for while the ships are being commissioned, it's regiments of men reforged and it's lands returned, the state finds itself in a struggle to retain it's colonies from the victors.
