[@Guilty Spark] Anything can be enchanted yes, but Arcanite is the most easily enchanted material in the canon since it literally acts like a battery or conduit for arcane energy. For example, staves usually have Arcanite cores, and wooden/brass/iron/etc frames.

You could potentially enchant anything without Arcanite, but it would be more difficult, and pretty pointless if you have access to the material, obviously. I would imagine it to be more complex as well, but if a character specialize in enchantment, then obviously they'd be able to do it much quicker than others.

Ultimately, enchanting and arcane technology are the same concept, technically.

Of course, weapons that have attributes are already 'enchanted'. Guns that run on Arcane energy are dependent on their ammo, though.

Oh yea, there are magical guns. It's kinda steam-punky, to some degree, relatively speaking.
