Admara's 1x1 Thread

About Me
My name is Admara. I'm an eighteen year old living in a flyover state. That's about all the personal information you get, unless we become friends, that is. I've been roleplaying in one form or another since I was twelve. It's my method of destressing and letting the creative juices flow. Thus, I hate unneeded drama (which is one reason I avoid group roleplays), and it's a nice segway into my rules, and how I write. Please read them before going any further.

My Rules
◈ You need to be willing to chat back and forth separate from our roleplay. ◊ I like getting to know my roleplay partners as people. It helps me connect to their characters more. ◊ It makes it easier to world-build and plot, which is important. I simply can't roleplay if I don't know where we're going. ◈ Be willing to work with my schedule. ◊ I am a high school senior with more than a full schedule, lots of extracurricular activities, and a part-time job. Thus, I am only going to be on at night. ◊ Even on busy weeks, I will always try to reply three or so times to our roleplay. ◊ On weekends, I will be on late into the night, as in, you might get a roleplay reply at 2:00 AM. ◊ I'll always let you know when [s]impending doom[/s] finals approach, or other time-gobbling events. ◈ If you work with me, I'll work with you. But if you ghost on me, we're through. ◊ I understand life can happen quickly, however, if you vanish and reappear without explanation regularly, expect a break-up message. ◈ If you aren't enjoying a roleplay or want to terminate it, please let me know. Again, just don't ghost. ◈ I will roleplay in the forum or via PM, but I will not roleplay offsite or via email. ◊ On that note, I might respond to our chat threads from my mobile, but I will never reply to a roleplay that way. Ever.

Writing Style and Preferences
◈ I am fairly literate, my posts a generally multiple paragraphs. ◊ However, if a post is dialogue driven, it will be shorter, for obvious reasons. ◊ I also give back what my partner gives me. If you consistently only post a paragraph, my style will mimic that. ◈ As mentioned above, I love world-building and plotting. ◈ Though my roleplays often contain romance, I prefer it to only be one aspect of the plot, and not the entirety of the story. ◊ I blame my past partners more than myself (lol), but most of my former roleplays had an element of dominance and submission. ◈ I often write a new character for roleplays. I'll play any gender or sexuality, and do any pairing. ◊ I have a few standbys, but they are altered often to better fit story lines. ◊ I also genderbend them so much that I can hardly remember what gender I initially wrote them as. ◈ I DON'T do any of the following: ◊ Furry/anthropomorphic characters (unless it is in some sort of fantasy setting where it makes sense, plotwise). ◊ Slice of life stories with no real overarching plot. ◊ Uninspired "feral" roleplays. There has to be a really good plot to get me hooked. ◊ Fandom roleplays, for two different reasons: ◅ They've left a bad taste in my mouth. People get bent out of shape and leave no room for creativity. ◅ I don't like using preexisting characters. It feels like plagiarism. ◈ Anything that isn't above is fair game! I'm incredibly open-minded. Have a weird plot no one has ever wanted to do? I'd probably give it a go.

Current Plot Ideas
Fun fact: I almost never have plot ideas! I like world-building, but I'm garbage (generally) at coming up with the basic premise and moving factor of the story. So, if there's something here, I'm probably really craving it. P.S.: I am always open to doing your plot ideas too! Just message me! All of these plots could be 18+ if my partner so wishes. If you have questions about anything relating to the content a roleplay may contain, please message me and do not post here.
The Satyr
MxM and MxF options available. Multiple settings. 18+. Must play human character. Already have a few takers. May still do this plot if someone is extremely interested.

Ben was yelling from his beat up sedan as he rolled slowly along the sidewalk. You tried to keep your eyes fixed straight ahead, fighting back tears. First the texts, then the phone calls, now this? All you wanted was a clean break, a fresh slate. You refused to slow down and tried to not let your eyes wander to his face, red from the liquor and his passionate yelling. He reminded you that you were stupid, that you could just come home and stay with him. All your things were still there. And, of course, he still loved you. He pretended that his words meant more than the contusion on your arm. "Don't make me get out," he warned, bringing the car to a slow stop. That's when your unlikely savior arrived, a young jogger who slowed to your pace and gently grabbed you by the elbow. Something about her didn't make you pull away, when you looked into her eyes you only saw pity. Wordlessly, you picked up the pace as she did, and followed her as she veered onto an overgrown path. You vaguely registered the sign of the old, overgrown city park. You almost laughed when the jogger victoriously flipped Ben the bird before the path curved and you were out of his line of sight. Too drunk and uncoordinated to unbuckle his seat belt fast enough, Ben gave up, you could hear the shrill noise of his tires screeching as he tore away. "Thank you," you finally said to the willowy blond woman as you both slowed to a walk. "I know what it's like, having someone like that breathing down your neck all the time," she said, her voice warm and friendly. But her eyes... they wandered nervously. "I-I'm just glad I was able to help," she added, a strange smile on her face, green eyes misty, as though she was ready to cry. Just as you were about to ask if she was okay, he head violently snapped to the side, peering into a dense pocket of trees -- why were there so many trees anyways? -- as though she was expecting someone. Or something. She went very, very still. Your fight or flight response kicked in, and flight won. "Uhm, well, thank you for all the help, but this is actually the opposite direction of home, so, uh, yeah," the words tumbled out of your mouth as you turned around to get the hell out of there. You meant to keep your head and walk, but you swore you felt the presence of something... inherently wrong. You ran. Hard and fast, leaves crunching underfoot. There was no longer a path, just a vague dirt track littered with tree roots and vines that hung like nooses. Where was the entrance? You hadn't walked that far, had you? You had to have stepped off the path. "I'm sorry," the clear and familiar voice of the jogger rang through the trees. You whirled around, hoping she knew the way out. But all you saw was a dense, dark forest that stretched in all directions. "It was either you or me," the bittersweet, disembodied voice sighed. Before you could wonder what the meant, you felt someone standing right behind you. Your heart leapt into your throat as their breath tickled your ear, a smooth voice echoing through your mind with a terrible greeting. "Hello, gorgeous."

You were raised in the forest. A hunter by trade, you always knew there was little to fear if you walked with care and treated the gods with respect. There was especially no need to fear when you had a sharp knife and keen eye. You knew the woods around your village like the back of your hand. Only the womenfolk were afraid of it. Your life was one of pastoral bliss. There was little to worry about in your small village. You had your family, your land, your trade. And your future wife. Everyone agreed you were a match made by Eros. But it was not to be. One night, she vanished. Without a trace. No tracks, nothing. A man possessed, you poured yourself into trying to find her. You swept the forest through, never knowing you were playing right into the hands of a beast you'd never conquered before. It is said that the weary satyr, if it wins the affections of a man, can take his earthly form. But that means turning the human into a satyr, a long and tiresome process that requires much pain and toil. Still, for a creature that has grown bored of the world and seeks mortality, is a few months of ritual that much of a bother? Will you escape the clutches of the satyr? Or will you become one?

You always loved the forest. As a little girl, you told your mother that the wind called your name when it danced through the leaves. While most little ones stayed away from the woods, you yearned to spend your days playing in its shade. But it was dangerous for women to be in the forest alone. You were never told why. Just that it was so. Your life was spent in the glen that your village was built on, surrounded by nature. Every afternoon, when the sun was high in the sky, you venture to the edge of the forest and pray. Sometimes, you knelt for the goddess Artemis, who surely hunted wild beasts somewhere in the sea of the trees, and other days, you didn't pray at all. You just listened. Listened to your name on the breeze. That's when the whispers started. No one wanted to wife a woman touched with madness, or worse, touched by some sort of divine craze. Your parents spoke in hushed tones about sending you to a temple as you started spending days on end on the brink of the forest. Then one night, something broke the spell. You ran home, tears streaming down your face. You wouldn't talk to anyone about what you saw. But that night, wild shadows are cast upon the field, and haunting music creeps its way out of the woods. You can't help but approach it. It's as is the flute calls your name...

Icarus
MxM. Modern Times. Could be 18+. Can play either role.
O Icarus, Beware the sun's seduction, Wings of wax were made to melt, And man was made to fall. They say Icarus flew to close to the sun out of personal foolishness, but the heart is an uncaged beast. For years, the only thing young Icarus could count on was the sun that shone through the prison window, even on the cloudiest day. His father said it was a trick of the mind, that the perpetual light was from the candles. But Icarus knew, when he stood in those rays, that they were divine. And when freedom was found on wax wings, Apollo called to him with such a force that it was undeniable, his fate unpreventable. Death always found him in the sunlight. The sun was the last thing he saw. Every time. In every life. Apollo cannot shirk his godly duties. Plagues must be wrought. Medicines created. Music and poetry written. There is prophecy and knowledge to be gleaned, and light to be brought. One mortal, one soul, is not worth his time. The soul of Icarus, clearly, is marked for destruction and unhappiness. But what will happen when Icarus, reincarnated, has the gift of divine sight?

The Ballad of Life and Death
Any gender pairing possible. Modern Setting. Could be 18+. Can play either role.
Death seems to wait for you at every turn. The doctors thought you would be stillborn when you were born so terribly early, and again when you were five, after you got struck by a car going 50 mph on your quiet, suburban street. Your life is littered with these sorts of incidents. You've reached the point where you've stopped asking "why is this happening to me?" Because there's a more interesting facet of life, because misfortune strike everyone around you. Except for them. Since the beginning, there's been different people. They're only in your life a short time, but at this point you're certain. Somehow, they're all connected. And you always see them before something terrible happens. Your imaginary friend. Your best friend in elementary school. The terribly nice substitute teacher in high school. The man at the bus stop. A little girl who was just playing in the park. You can't explain it. But you just know that they're some kind of being. All the same entity. Maybe in pieces, maybe just separate consciousnesses. Someone is watching out for you. But who?

The Servant's Story
Any gender pairing possible. Medieval/Fantasy Setting. Could be 18+. Can play either role.
You were not born to rule. It is not in your blood. But as your leader lay dying, your name left their lips. They named you, their favorite servant, as the successor to the throne. None can usurp their authority, even after death. But your life is now fraught with challenges and dangers, both within the castle and nation, and beyond. Who can you trust? Who will you become? What will make you the most famous (or infamous) ruler in Adristian history?

Sweet Dreams and Nightmares
Any gender pairing possible. Flexible setting. Could be 18+. Can play either role.
Every night, when you fall asleep, you see me. I'm your fantasy. A person, a place, an abstract idea come to life. Anything your heart desires. I could feel your heart join mine in heavenly union while you slept. You were my escape to something whole, something human. I would be lying to say that I didn't love you, too. But you were selfish. You wouldn't spend all your time with me. Work. Friends. Family. Who needs them? I could be any of them. I could be all of them! You're starting to drift away. Does the connection scare you? Why am I suddenly unpleasant to see when you aren't asleep? Don't you love me? Or am I only a fun when I'm all in your head? I will do anything to have you to myself. Anything.

Candles and Chloroform
Any gender pairing possible. Modern setting. Could be 18+. But when you walked through the door, you found rose petals scattered around the house, and hand written love letters. It would be sweet. If you had a significant other.
Will add more soon!

Leading Men and Women
I'll put some short summaries of my commonly used characters here. When I'm not feeling lazy, that is.
