Chika, or Chi(-chan) as she prefers to be called by those closer to her, seems to be the type that always strives to see the best in people, she’s relatively selfless, extremely extroverted, and quick to compliment or just give a good cheer. She doesn’t have many close friends, aside from the aforementioned peer, though many look upon her favorably, with the worst they can say about her being a penchant air-headedness and terrible skills with computers — though she can use a phone just fine. Chika has a passion for cooking and baking, and some would claim that bread made by her is seriously something special. Though she receives a fair amount of invitations to join the baking club, she would rather spend her time after-school tending to her mother’s bakery, often inviting people to visit or giving out free samples as random tokens of friendship. Previously mentioned, Chika is quite attached to her best friend, Goji. Though perhaps not (outwardly) romantically attracted, she certainly treats him like an important sibling, speaking with him on a first-name basis and often spending much of her time spoiling the student with free food and drinks, homework notes, even test answers, and all sorts of other petty favors. Originally, some thought the former delinquent was probably threatening the sweet girl into being his lackey, but time eventually cracked the image that she’s seriously just loyally humoring the boy on her own prerogative. There is, however, a dark side to the generally bright Chika: a former delinquent, herself, and a part of a rather broken family, she is susceptive to the occasional bout of depression and despair. Usually during these times, she can break down crying and will be overall miserable to look at and be around. Furthermore, she will every now and then break out a (illegally acquired, of course) cigarette to smoke, an action she finds relieving, if not a tad despicable. Chika, in these states of stress or sadness, is incredibly self-deprecating and carries portents of self-destruction. →Appearance←

→Clubs/Occupation← ♦“Going Home” Club (Not in a Club)♦ ♦Cashier/Waitress, Family Bakery “Pan-gaea (パン時屋)”♦ →History← Born outside of Aikaga in a city to the south, the Chika of today is not at all like the Chika of the past. A former delinquent, Chika is the younger of two sisters, having once been the rebellious black-sheep of her family with a rather nasty reputation in her previous middle school, much to her older sister’s great worry and admonishment. Her father, an affluent businessman, at some point cheated on his wife and left her following several bitter — sometimes physical — altercations. Sometime during the process of the custody battle for the two sisters, in a somewhat cliche turn of events, Chika’s sister was gravely injured and admitted into a hospital, though the actual event has never been detailed by Chika or her mother. However, whatever had happened changed had Chika permanently. Upon moving to Aikaga, she has since turned over a new leaf. Once in the city, Chika resolved to emulate the positive points of her admirable big sister, with a few extras to “make up” for the hole left behind by the rough departure. At some point, she met her neighbor, Goji, and the two bonded over similar pasts, becoming fast friends — perhaps something more. →Miscellaneous← ☆It’s less that she’s bad with computers, honestly, just that they tend to mysteriously break down when she touches them, at least fifty percent of the time. It could be supernatural, who knows~?☆ ☆Despite a great deal of hard work, Chika’s tendency to give away samples of bread, and its relative success, Pangaea is not particularly in the best way, financially.☆ ☆Mentioning that Chika and Goji should just shut up about not being a couple and start dating just gets a head tilt and an awkward smile. She is not particularly strong, physically, but makes up for her lack of physicality in droves through mental strength and guile. Few around the popular Vice-President find much to fault her over, besides a mite of eccentricity when it comes to advertising antiques from the store she runs at. Setsuna is quite cheerful and often very jovial, usually surrounding herself with small crowds of friends and fans, and defending herself against detractors with a touch of iron-will — if her fans don’t jump the detractors, first. Setsuna also holds a reputation for never once having been spotted as frazzled or outright angry, often taking a smiling (perhaps demeaning) grin and gently scolding anyone to draw any sort of ire from her. Ultimately, Setsuna is a controlling and furtively manipulative of nearly everyone around her, though not without her own sense of magnanimity, conscience and gratitude. Generally, one can expect her to be loyal to herself, first and foremost, but she is known to award those she trusts with favors and accolades. She is the type of girl that prefers to take charge of situations, establishing a working order and managing the labor so that she doesn’t have to. Further her self-interests, Setsuna seems to deeply care for the Antique Store she works at, and, given the store’s proximity to Graffiti Way, many often wonder how a musty old store like Refractions even stays afloat. The answer, of course, lay within Setsuna’s (quite well kept) secret of frequenting illegal gambling dens in disguise, using her intellect and smarts to work their systems before withdrawing. →Appearance←

→Clubs/Occupation← ♦Vice-President, Student Council♦ ♦Store Clerk, Antique Store “Refractions (In English)♦ →History← There is nary a person in Aikaga Central High that knows of Setsuna’s past prior to her enrollment. The cliche turn of phrase “cloaked in mystery” would not be far from the truth, in this matter. Despite admitting to be an Aikaga native, no one can particularly testament to having known her from previous schools, and her surname doesn’t exist in the city registry. Some even doubt that Ryoushi Setsuna is her real name, with others further wondering if she’s Japanese at all. Setsuna is, in these regards, a little bit of a ghost among mankind. The reality may be a bit more mundane than the rumors that spread around her, but the air of mystery is one that will always follow her. What people do know for sure is that she is a woman of many pursuits, with some of those pursuits a tad shadier than others. Also known is that her birthday falls on April 1, and she lives alone one subway stop away from the school. →Miscellaneous← ☆Setsuna holds a part-time job despite being the student council’s vice-president. This is rather notable as the latter position usually leaves one with incredibly little free time on weekdays. She gets around the issue primarily through getting people to do things for her: a furtive whisper there, a knowing glance here, and maybe a proper speech or some paperwork, now and then.☆ ☆Setsuna loves, loves, loves the random antiques found in her store. She’s also fond of history, itself. This is probably the sole place that Kazuko and she will find common ground on.☆ ☆Setsuna is also fond of stuffed dolls and other plush toys. She can be found carrying one around school, and sometimes her playful admonishment of misfits involves a good bonk with a doll.☆ ☆Student council members get a slightly modified Aikaga Central High School uniform. It’s black with white trim in both summer and winter versions, features an entirely different blouse design, and is overall a bit more elegant.
