[@Leslie Hall]
Character Name: Lucas Rosati Title: Prince of Chains Character Age: 15 Character Gender: Cis-male Nationality: (Originally) North American (Japanese now since his family's moved to the country.) Appearance:

Lucas is 170cm and weighs about 59kg, which is slightly on the spindly side for someone of his height. He favors dark pants or slacks coupled with dark cardigans over muted tartan-patterned button-ups with a lazily looped tie to "tie" the appearance together. He also likes bad puns. More on that later. Light amber eyes, pale skin with the subtlest shade of cool pink undertones, and platinum blonde hair give him a distinctive look that he enjoys playing up for maximum effect with his contrasting shades of clothing. With big, doe eyes, naturally pouty lips, and a slender face, Lucas is aware he looks better than the average girl, something he occasionally uses to his advantage for a quick discount here and there. When transformed, Lucas sports a dark grey, steel mask behind which only his eyes are visible. His battle outfit is a black trenchcoat ("I'd call it a robe, personally") that reaches his ankles, with two parallel lines of white and red running straight up the front before the red line branches out in two paths across his collarbone, extends midway down his arms, and ends in a thick red band around his biceps ("I do have muscles, thank you"). The outfit finishes with white gloves, dark slacks, and black dress shoes ("What part of this is a combat outfit, again?"). Personality: Lucas likes bad puns, bland food, and incessantly clicking his pens. One of those guys. By simple negation, he hates clever people, strong food, and deafening silence. If he cannot amuse himself, the world must do it for him in the dumbest way possible. Lucas finds everything either boring or annoying, aspiring to be as close to every typical teenager's first-world problems as possible. From complaining about the two-degree deviation in preferred room temperature on the thermostat to whining about how long the next season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was taking to air, Lucas lives his life in shades of "I'm so boooooored" and "Auuuuugh." He's the kind of student who would show up to class for the last 15 minutes and wonder why the teacher's giving him a disapproving look ("What? I went to class, right? Isn't that enough?"). Not so much lazy as simply apathetic, Lucas is perfectly fine going through life achieving the bare minimum. His career goal is "anything that pays decently enough for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment, electricity, water, food, and internet." Ambition is not his strong suit. And yet, even the waste of oxygen that is Lucas can be motivated, though the risk-reward factor is fairly severe. Danger amps him up. The more dangerous the situation, the more excited he feels. Where crippling fear and panic would set in for others, Lucas feels only a reckless abandon that persists throughout the fight with a startling tenacity, which tends to lead to reckless endangerment of himself or others--or both. In combat, he's likely more of a liability than an advantage. Good cannon fodder, though. Faction: Sun Prince Magical Weapon: Spear-tipped chains that source from Lucas. The chains have a long range and can change directions at will, making them versatile while losing one-hit-wonder capabilities unless Lucas strikes something vital. Magical Abilities: Lucas is a crowd-controller, with magic exclusively tailored to ensnare his targets so his chains can home in for the killing blow. He can summon distortion fields that slow targets down or blind them in an impenetrable darkness (one or the other), smaller trap fields that can bind a target in place for a short period of time, and an attraction or repulsion field (one or the other) that pulls targets in or pushes them away--as effective or ineffective as a target is capable of rendering it. Strengths: Managing the tide of battle, supposedly, if he wasn't so busy trying to fight on the front lines all the time. Weaknesses: Close-quarters combat, raw damage output, defensive capabilities. Biography: The only child of a completely normal, suburban family, Lucas breezed through life without really thinking about it. Everything just kind of worked itself out because he didn't quite care enough to demand anything better. He took to heart his dad's favorite phrase about wearing shoes instead of trying to cover the world in leather, so Lucas learned, from a very young age, to take everything in stride. And somewhere along the way, he just let everything pass him by, instead. He kept casual friends at school and kept casual conversation at home, not really cultivating much of a personality besides the basics necessary to casually fit in with a bunch of students he casually cared about. Whatever he did form of his own identity was more a byproduct of simply existing than any conscious desire. If asked for the names of his old friends, Lucas would have to pull out his phone, scroll through his contacts list, and try to remember which names were friends and which names were the dentist, the doctor, the optometrist, and the long-distance girlfriend. By a miracle of foresight, Lucas had actually labeled his parents in his phone as "Mom" and "Dad," so there was no danger of forgetting there, especially since he had added footnotes to the contacts--"Mom" was "Emily the sappy" and "Dad" was "George the whipped." ("God, I'm brilliant.") How his parents found so much tender joy in the small moments of life baffled him, and Lucas would often watch them at the dinner table, exchanging loving glances with each other while excitedly talking about their mundane days. Completely baffled. A "good morning" note from his dad on the dinner table would make his mom's day and her happy "Welcome home!" would do the same for his dad. Lucas sometimes felt no guilt for wishing something would happen for once. Anything. And then something did. They moved to Japan along with a good portion of his dad's company when a lucrative market for their business opened up in one of Japan's bustling metropoles. Craving the novelty, Lucas had been completely on board with the move, excited to finally do something other than live out the rest of his boring life. Except when the dust settled a year later, he was just doing more of the same, now with a setting swap. "I'm so boooooored," he would drawl to himself daily in his room, pillowing his head on unfinished homework and textbooks, unaware of the fate that awaited him there.
If anything needs more fleshing out, I'll be glad to fix that. Powers are completely subject to edits if you feel they don't fit the universe. I can scrap the CS completely and go again if anything major is a concern.
