■ MARTIAL ARTS | Krystal enrolled Stephanie in self defense at a young age due both to knowledge of her father's hobbies and the nature of Gotham itself. As she grew, Steph has learned a variety of techniques from karate, kung fu, taekwondo, judo and even jujitsu. That said, she's more of a 'Jill of All Trades' than a master of one. Due to her size and stature, Steph has relies on her stick fighting more than her own fists.

■ INEXPERIENCE | A side effect of Stephanie's youth is her lack of valuable experience in the war on crime. As such her inexperience could very well get her killed on Gotham's streets.

In her day to day life, she generally dresses casually, preferring jeans over most other legwear but isn't above wearing yoga pants on a lazy day. In terms of tops, Stephanie owns a wide variety of shirts, most of them in brighter colours, favouring primary colours that wouldn't look out of place on a hero in Metropolis. Stephanie has bright eyes that can appear blue one day and then green the next. Most often they appear teal on an average day. Her hair is a bright natural blonde, kept long in length and is well taken care of rarely looking disheved or rough.

Stephanie Brown was born to Crystal Brown and Arthur Brown, or as her father was better known - the Cluemaster. She grew up ignorant of her father's other life, despite the fact Stephanie's father spent most of her early childhood in jail, away from Gotham City. One night, about month after her father had returned home, Stephanie woke up to a strange noise only to find the Batman with his hands around her fathers' throat. Seeing the young girl, Batman decided not to return Arthur to jail. Going back to sleep, Stephanie eventually convinced herself that the it had all been just a dream.

However the visit from Batman did little to deter Arthur and soon the criminal mind returned to his old tricks. Updating his personal modus operandi, the Cluemaster went against his name, now pulling heists without leaving clues behind. Inspired by the visit from the Batman, Stephanie created her own costume in an attempt to try and stop her father. Dubbing herself 'the Spoiler', Stephanie discovered her father's plans locked away in the basement and decided to leak them in order to stop him. Using a social media account designated 'Spoiler Alerts', Stephanie released clues onto the web for Batman and the GCPD to stop the Cluemaster.

Despite being new to the world of capes, Stephanie is able to get by through her enthusiasm and dedication to her own personal vendetta. Unable to directly confront her father, Stephanie kept watch, following the Batman from a distance and eventually joining the fight when the Caped Crusader engaged the Cluemaster. Sending Stephanie home after the conflict was resolved, it didn't take the Batman long to determine the identity of the Spoiler. Impressed with Miss Brown's tenacity, the Batman left Stephanie a present, her own utility belt. Armed with the necessary tools, Stephanie continued to develop her skills.

Learning her father had escaped Blackgate, Stephanie has resumed the identity of the Spoiler and has vowed to return her father to prison.

■ SKILLED DETECTIVE | Grayson is a world class detective, though not quite as proficient as Batman. In light of that, Grayson has been said to be third to Batman who is widely regarded as the 'World's Greatest Detective'. Grayson was able to solve a riddle by the Riddler before Batman himself even figured it out and this was before Grayson had become Robin. Furthermore, he has been known to solve mysteries and cases in a speed that even impresses his mentor. Barbara Gordon even commented that he was able to solve 4 cases in "America's Most Wanted" in a single morning and solved a homicidal case that went unsolved for 14 years.

■ SKILLED HACKER | He is skilled enough to hack into the Batcomputer emergency override codes during a time when he and Bruce had a falling out following his evolution from Robin to Nightwing. During his travels with Kori, Grayson also hacked a Alien Terminal with the use of the Tameranian Language he had learned from former teammate and romantic interest Starfire.

■ SKILLED MULTI-LINGUIST | Having had the finest education as Bruce Wayne's ward, he speaks with fluency in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Farsi (Persian), Mandarin and Cantonese, and has some knowledge of Romany and the alien language of Tamaran.

■ SKILLED TRACKER | Gryason has been trained in hunting techniques by Batman who learned by the way of the African Bushmen (the Ghost Tribes of the Ten-eyed Brotherhood, among others). As such Grayson's skills are quite considerable both in natural and urban environments.

Born on the first day of spring during one of Gotham's rare sunny days, Richard John Grayson was handed into the hands of his loving parents who looked down on their son overwhelmed with pride. Upon first looking at her newborn baby boy, Mary called the boy her 'Little Robin', relating to his birth on the Spring Solstice. This term of endearment would imprint on the young Grayson for his entire life.

Like his father, Richard comes from a line of Romani descent. The Graysons were the ancestors of a roaming gypsy family who had been part of the circus for longer than any written record could tell. However unbeknownst to them, the Graysons were also the descendant of one of Gotham's most deadly legends, a man by the name of William Cobb. Cobb lived most of his life as a Talon, a highly feared enforcer for a group that has been all but long forgotten save for the haunting rhymes told to children who disobey their parents. As such the history of William Cobb fell into obscurity, lost in a history of circus performers and Romanies.

As his parents had, Richard or as he preferred to go by, Dick lived his whole life travelling from city to city in Haly's Circus. Trained by his parents, Mary and John Grayson, Dick was taught to be an acrobat and began performing at an early age, wowing crowds with his natural prowess on the trapeze. Together with his parents who were both world renowned acrobats, Dick would begin his introduction to performing at a young age and essentially from birth was trained to be a performer in the circus. His mother's nickname for him only became further enforced as Dick learned to perform on the trapeze, as Mary would constantly comment how he reminded her of a Robin while flying through the air in his red leotard. Together they were collectively known as the 'Flying Graysons' and were recognized as being one of the biggest shows in the circus business. In fact the circus' owner Jack Haley often remarked that the Grayson's were the biggest asset to the circus' business. Known for performing without a net, the 'Flying Graysons' true trade mark was their signature quadruple somersault, a move that only the three Graysons were known to be capable of performing. Growing up in the circus, Dick made several friends with the children of the other performers such as Jimmy, Zane and his childhood crush Raya Vestri.

Travelling the world with the circus, Dick became very cultured and outgoing though his education did suffer as he was only taught what those around him knew. None the less, his quick mind grasped onto most concepts quickly and Dick was recognized among the other performers as being a very sharp kid. At the age of fifteen, Dick found himself in Gotham City as the circus rolled into town for its annual performance. Dick had only ever performed in Gotham a few times previously, but that said having heard of Gotham's reputation for crime he had always been understandably nervous about leaving the circus grounds to explore the city like he had in Paris, New York, and numerous other locations. However, staying at the circus gave the boy a unique opportunity as he was able to meet a young fan of his by the name of Timothy Drake. At the time, Timothy was only about four years old, but none the less he remembered seeing Grayson's performances in previous years, wanting nothing more than to soar through the air like the older boy did. Having his picture taken with Tim and his parents, Dick wandered off through the circus to kill time before his family's show that evening.

Dick's world suddenly changed that fateful night. It was one of the biggest shows of the year as Haly's Circus had once again returned to Gotham City to help ring in the New Year. But Gotham wasn't the same place it was twelve years ago, not that it was some shiny metropolis then either, yet the city had managed to become worse. Stumbling across an argument between the circus' owner Mr. Haly and a well-known and feared crime lord by the name of "Boss" Tony Zucco. Dick hide in the shadows as he heard Zucco threaten Mr. Haly unless the circus's owner paid protection money. Being an honest and moral man, Haly refused not knowing the horrors he had released. That night Dick watched in horror as his parents' high wire snapped, sending his parents hurtling to their deaths, all while many of Gotham's elite watched on. A burden of guilt came over Dick as he stood there, the realization that he could have warned his parents washing over him, downing him in anguish as he collapsed into bitter sobs.

Shortly after the tragedy of his parent's death, Dick was placed in an uncaring juvenile services system, reportedly on the grounds that social services was full. While in the juvenile systems, Dick found himself dragged into numerous brawls where he was beaten up by a number of the inmates. He was eventually passed onto a Catholic orphanage where he stayed for a couple miserable months. Though life seemed to have taken a permanent turn for the worse for the young boy, seemingly out of nowhere, infamous billionaire Bruce Wayne rescued Dick by adopting him.

Dick insisted on only being adopted as his ward, because he did not want to replace his deceased father with the billionaire who he only knew from the tabloids. In fact, Dick originally believed that Bruce only adopted him for the good press and this was further supported by the amount of time that Dick found himself spending alone in the near empty mansion. Living with the billionaire at first felt like Dick had won the lottery, but after several weeks of growing loneliness, Dick's bitterness began to resurface. Growing frustrated by the lack of attention from his new guardian and the mystery still surrounding his parents' death, Dick snuck out of Wayne Manor one evening to solve the crime on his own - only to stumble upon Gotham's mysterious Batman, who was also investigating the murder. Feeling it would be cathartic for Dick to apprehend Zucco, the Batman allowed Dick to work with him, acknowledging their similar parallels in life.

While working with Batman, Dick began to get a familiar sense about the mysterious man. An expert in reading body language, a skill inherited from the circus and playing up to crowds it didn't take Dick long to deduce that Bruce Wayne and Batman were actually the same individual. Exploring the mansion for further clues, Dick eventually found himself stumbling upon the Batcave where Batman himself was awaiting his arrival. Bruce offered to train Dick, turn Dick into a crime fighter in his own right and pass along each and every skill he himself possessed. Wanting to honor his parents, Dick wholeheartedly agreed and was put through a rigorous training regime. Exercise after grueling exercise nearly brought Dick to his knees, but the young acrobat managed to excel through all combat and physical based training. Where Dick struggled however was the more academic departments although he eventually overcame these obstacles once he was able to put his own perspective on them.

Continuing their hunt, the pair succeeded in tracking down Zucco, and confronted John and Mary's murderer. However, Batman and Dick were unable to apprehend Zucco as the mobster died of a heart attack seconds before his arrest. But the night was hardly over as the nature of its events had allowed Batman to see a reflection of himself in Dick. A thirst for justice he could temper into an unstoppable force, Batman made the young boy the offer of a lifetime; the chance to stay on as his crime-fighting partner. Accepting wholeheartedly, Dick chose the name Robin, after the nickname his mother gave him, and his training began.

Bruce taught Dick fighting techniques and detective skills for a grueling six months. Despite the intensive training, Dick had still not been allowed in the field since the night the death of Boss Zucco. But fate had a different idea as Batman's found himself caught in the trap set by one of his many rogues. Stubborn still, Bruce refused Alfred's suggestion to send Dick into the field, but fearing for Bruce's safety and having complete confidence in Dick, Alfred made the decision to disobey Bruce and presented Dick with his first costume. Leaping into action, Robin managed to rescue Batman proving his competence once and for all.

With the rescue of Batman, Dick was finally deemed worthy to hit the streets. However Bruce had one final test for Dick to pass - "the Gauntlet". Dick had to elude the Dark Knight on the streets of Gotham for one night - from sundown to sunrise - without any outside help. Dick succeeded while simultaneously bringing Gotham gangster Joe Minette to justice. From that point on the two would patrol Gotham together and the name Robin became simultaneous to that of Batman. Just as the dynamic duo were becoming well known, rumors of a female Batman began to circulate Gotham however neither paid them much attention at the time despite the rumors becoming more persistent as time went on.

Enjoying his first few years as Robin, Dick regarded the role as much as a job as he did it an adventure until a confrontation with Two-Face served as a rude awakening for the young hero. The former District Attory Harvey Dent turned supervillain had captured the new District Attorney along with Batman. Suspending both from a hangman's noose in a 'double gallows death-trap', the rescue of the pair fell squarely on Robin's shoulders. However in trying to save the D.A., Robin used a batarang to cut the rope of the noose failing to account for Dent's obsession with the number two. To Robin's dismay it was a two-fold trap as he watched the floor give way, dropping the D.A. to his death. Devastated at his own failure, Robin was taken by surprise by Two-Face. Savagely beaten while Batman was forced to watch, Robin was left defenseless while Two-Face took no mercy on the young boy. Freeing himself, Batman jumped to Dick's aid, quickly putting an end to Two-Face's assualt.. This event, however, scarred the young crime-fighter, haunting him for years to come. Rather than see Dick be further endangered, Batman chose to "fire" his partner and sidelined the Boy Wonder.

Feeling disgruntled and disrespected by Batman, Dick decided to seek out other young heroes he had encountered during his time as Robin and realized they too felt under appreciated and ignored. Wanting independence and freedom from their mentors, the young heroes banded together in much the same way as the Justice Society and Justice League of America had before them. Branding themselves 'Titans', the team operated out of the eye of the League taking missions that Dick knew first hand Batman would never allow the League to touch. Hand picking his team, Dick sought out Wally West (Kid Flash) and Garth of Atlantis (Aqualad). This team was later expanded when the trio found themselves overwhelmed on the sands of Kahndaq. Joined by the Amazon Donna Troy (Wondergirl) and the recently rogue Roy Harper (Speedy). Making it out of Kahndaq as a team, the Titans finally caught the attention of the Justice League.

While Batman and Dick nearly came to blows, Superman stepped in and negotiated a deal between the Titans and the League. Superman's own protege would act a liason between the Titans and the League. With reluctant agreement from both Batman and Dick, the Kryptonian Kieran Kent (Seraph) was added to the team. Still the Titans were hard fought to meet acceptence from the world around them. However their acceptance finally came after an event with an alien organism left the Justice League under the control of a creature that wished to conquer and enslave the Earth. Working together fluidly as a team, the Titans managed to free their mentors and alongside them repel the potential alien invasion. After these events, Superman, Batman, Flash Aquaman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the league placed their support towards the idea of the young men and women becoming a heroic group, and the Titans were officially sanctioned by the Justice League. Dick himself would became continue to lead the team with Batman returning Dick's former identity as Robin to him. Despite a series of successful adventures and missions the team would eventually disband after only a few years together.

Returning to Gotham, Dick continued his adventures with Batman, as his former mentor welcomed him back. It was at this time that the rumors of a female Batman came to a head and Bruce and Dick sprung into action to investigate. Coming upon the female apprehending a pair of criminals, the Dynamic Duo confronted the Batgirl. While Bruce reluctantly agreed to train her, Dick became immediately smitten with the redhead and much to Bruce's chargin would go out of his way to both flirt and attempt to impress the older girl. However Batgirl took no interest in the much younger Robin and repeatedly pushed him away.

Batgirl wasn't the only thing new in Dick's life upon his return to Gotham. Having received a private and very privileged education from the finest teachers, paid for and provided by Bruce, Dick had completed a high school level education and upon his return to Gotham began attending college at Hudson University despite the commute to New York. Dick had chosen Hudson in an effort to assert his independence from Bruce. Robin started to take on solo missions as well, and found himself to be a capable crime-fighter in his own right.

Before Bruce could realize it, Dick was also becoming a man. His failure with Batgirl eventually lead Dick to dating other girls. In particular Dick found himself attracted to one of the daughters of Gotham's socialites. While Dick Grayson enticed her, Dick soon found out that the young Bette Kane was heavily infatuated with Gotham's Boy Wonder. Meeting her as Robin, Dick used his secret identity to score with Bette only for Batman to confront him. Yelling at Dick, words were exchanged between the two with Bruce accusing Dick of manipulating the girl, being irresponsible and compromising their identities while Dick reminded Bruce that he does the same thing with Catwoman on a regular basis. In addition to this confrontation, their idealisms began to differ as Dick looked towards moving forward while Bruce was still firmly tethered in the past.

The widening gyre between Batman and Robin only became worse as Dick was shot and injured during a confrontation with the Scarecrow. Subjected to a near lethal dose of fear gas, Batman put Dick on 'Cave Arrest' out of fear of seeing him further injured. However left alone in the cave, Dick discovered that Bruce had been training a boy by the name of Jason Todd in secret which he assumed was meant to replace him. Bruce tried to explain that they were at war and Jason was a soldier for their crusade, some much needed back but Dick refused to hear any of it. The conversation got heated as Dick began to run down Bruce's crusade calling him a 'Scared Boy hiding up a blanket' and saying that 'Bruce Wayne could do ten times more for Gotham than Batman ever could.' After a final sucker punch and a dramatic exit, Dick Grayson left the Batcave.

Dick realized at that point he had grown up: He no longer relied on Batman and, in fact, he and the Dark Knight disagreed on crime-fighting methodology. His newfound independence and Titans' duties in New York left less time for his former commitments in Gotham City. He had also dropped out of Hudson after only one semester. Without Bruce, Dick was out on his own but was more than capable of taking care of himself. Alfred had been kind enough over the years to teach Dick the domestic side of life and revealed to the young man that Bruce had been given control of a trust fund that Dick's parents had created for him. This trust fund had been left in the hands of financial expert Lucius Fox who had grown it into a modest fortune for Dick. Thanking Alfred for everything, Dick embarked away from Gotham.

Spending nearly a year backpacking through Europe, Dick took it upon himself to return to his Romani roots and explore the world as they had, living as a nomad and travelling from town to town. The experience was wholly enriching and exactly what Dick had needed on his trip of self discovery. Returning to North America, Dick avoided Gotham and instead went to New York. It was here that Dick met and enjoyed a whirlwind romance with fashionista Cheyenne Fremont. Though their romance came to an end, the two parted on friendly terms and Dick continued his journey eventually coming into contact with a Tamaranian named Koriand'r. Kori, as she preferred to be called opened Dick's eyes to the further wonders of the world as he was able to live vicariously through her optimistic and naive point of view about Earth. The two became rather passionately involved and were almost married at a Vegas Chapel until the ceremony was disturbed by the interruption of a localized zombie apocalypse. However despite intending to continue their romance, Dick returned to Gotham when Alfred contacted him regarding Barbara, the former Batgirl and his first love.

In his quest to break the Batman, The Joker had crippled Barbara Gordon but it was Dick who was out for revenge. A burning fire inside his chest once again united Batman and the former Robin on the same path. There wasn't a waking hour that Dick didn't stop by the hospital sitting at Barbara's beside. It was during this time the two became quite close, Barbara beginning to see Dick as more than the annoying kid who had a crush on her. As Barbara regained her independence, Dick continued on his trip, summoned to the aid of a mysterious young girl by the name of Raven.

The daughter of a Demon named Trigon, Raven had escaped her father's clutches and sought out the Titans believing the former teen heroes were her only hope. Reuniting with Kieran, Wally and Donna, they were joined by newcomers Raven, Terra and Beast Boy. Repelling the demon, Dick rediscovered his self-worth among the New Titans. Batman, however, was less than pleased. He informed Dick that if he no longer wanted to be his partner, then Dick would have to retire as Robin. Dick left Wayne Manor after this falling out. Helping him through this difficult time was his fellow Titans, as well as Barbara who urged Dick to not allow Brucer to define him. Realizing his journey was far from over, Dick handed over leadership of the Titans to Kieran and departed.

Uncertain what to do, he turned to someone he knew would understand: Superman. Travelling to Metropolis, Dick sought out Superman who much to Dick's surprise recognized the former Boy Wonder. Showing Dick the city, Clark and Dick eventually sat down for a meal where the two heroes had a heart to heart, sharing their frustrations about Bruce and ended the night with Superman sharing a story he heard about a Kandorian hero who not unlike Dickwas cast out by his family. The man had dreamed of a world ruled by justice, and set out to protect the helpless of Krypton. His true identity was never revealed. He was known only as Nightwing.

The story stuck with Dick and he took up the mantle of Nightwing stopping crime on the road before returning to Gotham upon learning of the death of his successor, Jason Todd. Joining Batman in the manhunt for the Joker, it was Dick was reminded Bruce of his one rule, his vow to never take a life. The line they swore not to cross. Turning the Joker over to the proper authorities, Dick returned with Batman to the cave. Though the visit was short, as Dick turned to leave, Alfred stopped him, presenting him with a gift as he had so many nights ago. With a small peek and a smile, Dick thanked his surrogate grandfather and headed back out on the road.

Rejoining the Titans, Nightwing had moved out of the shadow of the Bat and resumed leadership of the team. Battling against new foes and former friends, Dick lead the Titans through several hard times before once again taking a leave from the team upon hearing that Tony Zucco had returned from the dead. Learning that Zucco had not actually died but rather passed into a coma. Batman had feared Dick would want the gangster dead, so he "protected" the boy by telling him that Zucco had died. After spending nearly seven years in prison with good behavior, Zucco applied for parole, in exchange for becoming a state informant of mob activity. His real intentions, however, were to retrieve a ledger containing his secrets. Just as Dick arrived to see him step out of the prison, he was gunned down by an enemy mobster from a helicopter. Despite catching the assassin and getting some closure to his parents' deaths, Dick was upset with Bruce for lying to him and keeping him away. Bruce explained that this was not his intent.

Feeling hurt and betrayed, Bruce and Dick would remain at odds with each other, never fully sorting out their strained relationship. While serving with the Titans, Dick was sought out by an older Tim Drake who had only one goal on his mind, for Dick to return to Robin. It was Dick's refusal to return that Tim started down the road toward becoming the new Robin. After weeks of persuading and proving his potential, Dick then returned to the Batman to plead Tim's case, with help from Alfred Pennyworth. Due to their arguments and the realization that the Batman needs a Robin, Tim Drake becomes the third Boy Wonder.

Soon after, various members of the Titans were abducted by the Wildebeest Society. This event shook up the team in a big way. The group entered into tumultuous times, where members came and went, longtime friends were maimed or destroyed, although Dick persevered through it all, and remained the heart and center of the team. But Dick's relationship with the Titans became strained, and problems in Gotham demanded Dick's attention. Growing apart from the team, it was ultimately decided that it would be best if Dick handed leadership off to someone else until a time he could fully dedicate to them.

Meanwhile, in Gotham, Bruce Wayne was nearly killed by the villain Bane who had crippled him by breaking his back. Unwilling to force Dick to come back and believing that Dick deserved to be his own man, Bruce opted to give the mantle of Batman to the unstable Jean Paul Valley, with Tim Drake, the new Robin to guide him. Unfortunately Jean Paul proved too much for Tim to handle, and Dick returned to help. Dick intervened with Tim Drake, and when Bruce returned to Gotham healed and ready to become Batman again, the three of them along with Catwoman brought Valley down and Bruce re-assumed the mantle of Batman.

Still recovering from his broken back, Bruce asked Dick to substitute for him as Batman for a time, a request which Dick accepted. During this time, Dick was able to confront Two-Face and lay some demons to rest. He also established a wonderful partnership with Tim which allowed for their brotherly bond to flourish. Bruce eventually returned to Gotham to reclaim his role as Batman. Before taking back the mantle however, Bruce admitted to Dick the reason he had not selected him for the role of Batman originally and for the first time in a long time, Bruce and Dick began to heal their strained relationship. Bruce's respect for Dick was at last obvious.

Investigating a crime in nearby Blüdhaven, Nightwing saw that the city was just as bad, if not worse as Gotham. After discovering twenty-two dead men had floated into Gotham's south harbor, Dickdecided that he should leave Gotham and move to Blüdhaven. It didn't take long after the move for Nightwing to realize that Blüdhaven was what Gotham was before Batman arrived. Brimming with corruption to the highest levels of power, it seemed to be that whatever was too coarse or too awful for Gotham, would end up in the 'Haven. Due to his investigative training with Bruce, Dick was able to quickly discover that all the corruption in the city leads directly to the crime lord Blockbuster.

Living in Bludhaven, Dick found an apartment to rent as his base of operations, as well as taking a job as a bartender in order to better keep track of both the crime and corruption in the city. Finding himself frequently battling Blockbuster's minions, Nightwing discovered the crimelord had place a large bounty on his head. Unfortunately for Dick this attracted the wrong kind of attention leading to his own personal group of recurring enemies such as Stallion, Lady Vic, Brutale, and Shrike, all of who attempt to claim the bounty for their own. After several months of being alone in Bludhaven, he begins training another enthusiastic young man named Tad who was determined to follow Nightwing's lead and make a difference. But Tad's brutal methods soon lead him to unknowingly murder an undercover FBI agent, only for Nightwing to defeat him and send him to jail shortly afterwards. Contacting Barbara Gordon for information, Dick soon finds his childhood crush on her re-ignited, which she finally reciprocates leading to the two vigilantes to begin a relationship.

Blüdhaven was a long, uphill battle for Dick Grayson. He fought many victorious battles in Blüdhaven as its protector, and certainly made it a safer place, but he never won the war. The city, and his losses, took their toll on Nightwing, leading him to eventually adopt a grimmer outlook on being a hero. Deciding to join Blüdhaven Police Department in an attempt to get rid of the corruption of the city from within, Dick aimed to work on both sides of the law as Nightwing and an officer. As Grayson and Barbara's relationship continued to grow, Barbara slowly became annoyed with Dick who had become increasingly overprotective due to Blockbusters actions. This culminated in a fight about a female vigilante known as Tarantula, leading to their break up.

After his mother's heart fails during a rescue from Nightwing, Blockbuster comes to blame the vigilante for her deatH. Closely following Nightwing, Blockbuster eventually learned Dick's true identity and has Dick's apartment building blown up in order to kill everyone close to Grayson. Following the death of everyone in his apartment building except for Amygdala, Dick goes after Blockbuster dispatching his hired muscle and beating the villain. The vigilante Tarantula who arrives shortly after this, promptly aims her gun at Blockbuster intent on killing the crimelord. Despite having the choice to stop her, Dick decides to no such thing and Blockbuster is killed before his eyes. Suddenly awash with guilt for voilating the no kill policy, Nightwing, retreats to the roof where he begins having an emotional breakdown. Following him, Tarantula sexually forces herself on the nearly catatonic Grayson.

Due to the emotional trauma caused by the death of Blockbuster and the rape at the hands of Tarantula, Dick Grayson takes on a new suit and codename of Renegade and allies himself with his long time enemy Deathstroke. During his period as Renegade, Dick manages to keep tabs on the Society's activities in both Gotham and Blüdhaven. Deathstroke asks Nightwing to teach his daughter, Ravager, all the skills he knows. Nightwing takes Ravager out on many missions, but eventually Ravager grows suspicious and accuses him of being a hero. Under his instruction however, Nightwing begins to teach and instill the values of being a hero into the Ravager, which brought him into direct conflict with Deathstroke. Brokering a deal with Deathstroke, Nightwing agrees leave Ravager alone and stop teaching her to be a hero if Deathstroke leaves Blüdhaven alone. Deathstroke initially agrees, but eventually breaks the deal by releasing his mercenaries on Blüdhaven, just forty eight hours later while Nightwing was out of the city in Gotham. While in Gotham, Nightwing confides that he let the villain Blockbuster die and asks Batman to forgive him. Batman tells him that his forgiveness doesn't matter; Dick has to move beyond Blockbuster's death. Inspired by his mentor, he proposes to Barbara Gordon, who tearfully accepts his proposal with a kiss.

Returning to Blüdhaven, Nightwing is horrified as Deathstroke and his mercenaries have taken control of the city, unleashing martial law upon it and ordering anyone who knows the whereabouts or identity of Nightwing to turn the information over to the mercs or face punishment culminating in death. Calling in favours from the Titans, Nightwing brought them in, assisting him in freeing the city from the Deathstroke's grip. As the dust settled, Blüdhaven had been freed from mercenary control.

Continuing his roles as loyal protector to Blüdhaven and loving fiancé to Barbara Gordon, Dick has kept busy with helping rebuild his city in the wake of Deathstroke's assault. However with the disappearance of the League, Dick has found himself strained as he juggles his time between the 'Haven and helping Tim protect Gotham. Believing the Bat to be gone, crime has steadily been rising on both sides of the Bay. Believing that not only Gotham but the world needs a Batman, Dick is haunted each day by the rising need to don the cowl. Supported by Barbara, Tim and Alfred, Dick has decided to find his place among Bruce's peers to test the waters.

As the heir to the cowl, Dick believes the world needs a Batman and by extensive so does the Justice League. Joseph possesses the ability to fold space together allowing him to instantly travel from one location to another, provided he can see the location. This can extend to photographs, video recordings and any other photo realistic depiction. Joseph's teleporting extends past just simple travel however as he can fold the space around objects he touches in order to disarm or even harm others. Perhaps the oddest use of Joseph's powers is his ability to manipulate the space he's touching in order to adhere to it. He does this in order to cling to ceilings and walls.

Joseph also possesses a precognitive ability allow him to see events before they happen which greatly bolsters his reflexes and allows him to avoid teleporting into an object he didn't expect to be occupying his intended target space. Furthermore, while sleeping, Joseph's precognitive ability is boosted into prophetic dreams which allows him to see possible future events.

A slight vacuum occurs when Joseph uses his powers, the vacuum disappears as soon as his powers are turned off. As Joseph's powers only occur in spurts, this effect is often just a moment but if a fold between two points in space were to be maintained the vacuum would swap any loose objects that were pulled into the vacuum and transferred from one space to the other.

UNIQUE BIOLOGY
Damon's biology affords him abnormally large lungs which contain a highly flammable gas. This gas is expelled at high speeds before being ignited by two prongs located on the tip of Damon's tongue. These prongs produce a bioelectric current which arcs and ignites the gas creating a gout of fire. In addition to this, Damon's skill is incredibly resilient to heat, almost scale like upon close examination. This affords him protection from his own abilities as well as being durable against all manner of blunt force attacks.

Joseph has a slender frame that is covered in compacted muscle built up from years of exercising and toning his body. His torso and legs are built like someone who regularly competes in marathons and free running competitions while his arms and shoulders are built more like that of a boxer mixed with a martial artist. Joseph prides himself on being more balanced in his physique and as such has kept his flexibility and somewhat slender frame despite his well chiseled biceps and abdominal. Joseph is especially known for his keen piercing blue eyes. Deep blue with flecks of icy blue strewn throughout, Joseph's eyes are known for being able to look right through someone as though he is staring into their soul. Joseph has deep brown hair with strands of gold and auburn acting as natural highlights, these are most visible in bright light where as in dim and barely lit places, Joseph's hair can seem to be almost black. He keeps his hair anywhere from a short to medium length, often grooming it into various ways.

Joseph's general attire ranges from long sleeve mock tees to hoodies usually. Always paired with straight leg or boot-cut, dark-wash jeans. In collaboration with these, Joseph prefers to wear semi loose fitting tops in an effort to hide his more chiseled physique so as not to draw too much attention to himself. To that end he often will wear a t-shirt paired with a hoodie and jacket, or a long-sleeved shirt adorned with a hood and a jacket. Depending on the weather though Joseph may wear just a t-shirt, or a rolled up long sleeved mock tee. His outfit is almost always complimented with a leather jacket.​

During the height of the Mavericks' career Joseph's grandfather, Forrest Emerson Thoreau was a officer with the Larissa Lilith Police Department, often providing support to the Mavericks themselves. Proud to call himself an ally to the Mavericks, Forrest often told a young Joseph tales of the daring heroics the vigilantes had once brought to Larissa and its surrounding areas. However, Joseph's father, Silas Edward Thoreau didn't see eye to eye with his own father and while Forrest had been aiding the Mavericks, Silas had been away at Harvard earning his law degree and developing a deep rooted seed of hatred against those who took the law into their own hands. Upon Silas' return to Larissa, the ambitious young lawyer set his eyes on the gross abuse of the law he considered the Mavericks to be. Appealing to the local district attorney, it was Silas who instigated the city's zero tolerance policy towards vigilantes and ultimately caused the Mavericks to vanish from history. Due in part to his contribution to the city's new anti-vigilante stance, Silas became a valued asset with numerous law firms trying to recruit the young hotshot. Having his pick of the crop, Silas settled in with Campbell and Reid quickly rising to partner over three short years. Eyed by the District Attorney's office, Silas was scouted to take over the position of state prosecutor. Settling into his new career with ease, Silas eventually met and impregnated a young woman by the name of Samantha Russells. Desperate to keep the bastard child out of public headlines, Silas married Samantha in a private civil ceremony. Nine months later, Joseph Edward Thoreau was born to his loving mother and career driven father.

Growing up distant from his father, Joseph spent most of his time with his mother and grandfather. His mother provided the love and care every growing boy needed while Forrest filled the void left by Silas and taught Joseph many numerous life skills. Drawing upon his years of experience as a former police officer, Forrest taught Joseph to listen to the beat of the city, to hear its voice and learn its rhythms. Due to the teachings of his grandfather, Joseph grew to a strong set of street-smarts, taught to remain constantly aware of his surroundings and how to read those within them.

But Joseph found he had trouble connecting to the city, especially on its crowded streets. Constantly overwhelmed, he found the only time he could clearly hear the rhythm of the city was from high above the street. Looking down on the world, Joseph learned how to pick apart the details and eventually found his groove. The city became his playground and Joseph would sneak out of the house to play among the roof tops. It was from this height that the corruption growing in Larissa first became clear to Joseph, he could see the city was sick and that the illness was only spreading. It was here that the idea to follow in his grandfather's footsteps was laid in Joseph's head, within him a fire had lit and the flames of passion ignited a need to help the people of Larissa, a need he wouldn't act on until quite a few years later.

Originally traversing them by climbing fire escape after fire escape before eventually growing bold enough to jump from roof to roof. From there Joseph's skills only continued to expand as Joseph learned to move more efficiently from place to place, learning the city from a whole new angle. At least he would have until his mother, Samantha caught Joseph sneaking in through a window one dark Larissa night. Never before had the boy seen his mother so scared as she checked him over for any sign of injury, acting as though he had been out re-enacting the stories of the Mavericks. Making him swear to never use the roof tops again, Joseph was literally grounded from that point on. But he learned to adapt, find new ways to hear the city as he moved through the crowded streets and eventually behind the wheel as his grandfather taught him how to drive and he succeeded in gaining his driver's license.

Despite never being the brightest in his class, Joseph never struggled through school. Maintaining above average grades and achieving honors upon graduation, Joseph had a wide selection of post-secondary institutions to choose from along with several sizable scholarships. However money had never been a concern for the Thoreau's thanks to Joseph's distant father. Deciding to take inspiration from his grandfather, Joseph turned his back on the numerous high brow institutions that had sent him accepted letters before deciding to pursue his education at the local community college. Enrolling for EMT certification, Joseph completed course after course until finding a career with the Larissa General Hospital as a paramedic. Never had Joseph felt so much pride as the day his grandfather shook his hand to congratulate the young man upon his first assignment. Silas however was disgusted with Joseph's career choices, his attitude towards Joseph causing friction between both Joseph and himself as well as Samantha and he. Combined with his constant distant behavior, Silas' negative attitude towards Joseph was the straw that broke the camel's back and Samantha and Silas divorced.

Having moved out during his time at college, the split did little to upset Joseph's living arrangements. His mother however relocated from the Olympus district to a country home in the more rural district of Mount Nysa. Making time to visit his mother over the weeks that followed, Joseph was rather confused by how little the divorce seemed to bother her. Silas on the other hand was working hard to keep the divorce out of his public image least it reflect poorly upon him.

On the night of the blackout, Joseph was awoken from his slumber in order to respond to an evacuation order at the Michaels' Nuclear Facility. Arriving at the scene just as the explosion rocked the area, Joseph's ambulance was rendered completely powerless. Nonetheless, Joseph wasn't deterred as he rushed the scene helping the wounded to safety until other first responders arrived. Working to clear the scene, Joseph worked into overtime, eventually being relieved after nearly eighteen long hours.

▼ ABILITY AUGMENTATION
STAGE 01 | Joseph possesses the ability to enhance the abilities of other gifted individuals. By laying his hands on another who possesses extraordinary abilities, Joseph can increase the potency of their abilities beyond what they are currently capable of. This increase only lasts as long as Joseph remains in contact with the ability's host and its effects almost immediately dissipate as soon as Joseph lets go. At this stage, Joseph can only boost the abilities of another in one aspect meaning if he increased the range of an attack, he could not increase its potency.

STAGE 02 | As Joseph's powers continue to grow, his abilities are further able to increase those of another. The next growth in his powers allows Joseph to amplify all aspects of another's abilities. This means he increases the range, potency, duration and any other necessary aspects of the ability in question. Furthermore Joseph no longer requires physical contact with those he's familiar with. Joseph is able to form empathetic links with those who he's close to allowing him to amplify their abilities while they're nearby. However as with his early abilities, the effects are only temporary, wearing off an hour or so after Joseph terminates the link.

STAGE 03 | At Joseph's peak, he is able to evolve the abilities of others to their fullest potential. This could lead to any number of outcomes and may even hurt the host as their powers become too unstable to control or contain. This effect can last for upwards of a day depending on Joseph's bond with the host, those he has an empathetic connection with will find themselves empowered longer than another gifted individual who Joseph has just encountered. That said, Joseph's ability no longer requires physical contact and can operate solely on a field of effect although he can choose his targets. Physically touching another increases the duration of the evolution and its potency. While the field of effect can amplify abilities and with sustained effect can evolve the host, physical touch from Joseph accelerates the process, making evolution almost instant.

◼ ABILITY NEGATION
STAGE 01 | Joseph's secondary ability is the ability to negate the abilities of another gifted individual. When in physical contact with another, Joseph can choose whether to enhance or negate their abilities. Instinctively his body will always go with negate out of self preservation meaning that if Joseph were touched or assaulted while asleep or unconscious, his body will negate the abilities of his assailant. The negation of the host abilities only is sustained so long as the host is in physical contact with Joseph. Once physical contact is terminated, their abilities are returned within seconds.

STAGE 02 | As Joseph's ability grows, he'll be able to emit a small blast which can temporarily stun and negate the abilities of another. This blast will only negate abilities for several minutes, acting like a small taser blast. Repeated blasts will build up the duration of the negation but only to the extent of three hours. After this the host will recover unless Joseph incurs another attack upon them. Physical contact with Joseph has increased potency now, immediately rendering a gifted individual powerless for several hours.

STAGE 03 | Near Joseph's peak potency, his ability will be able to be projected in a field of effect, capable of rendering all gifted individuals in a set radius powerless. Furthermore, his offensive abilities will increase from a simple blast, to a prolonged beam or a wider-spread attack capable of targeting multiple foes. At this stage he is able to render most gifted individuals powerless for several days and may even be capable of stripping another of their abilities completely if prolonged physical contact is held.

STAGE 04 | With his final evolution, Joseph gains the ability to enhance his own body. These enhancements are only temporary and can only enhance one aspect of Joseph's body at a time. These enhancements can only be added to one existing aspect of Joseph's body such as accelerating his healing factor or boosting his physical condition. Joseph is able to keep his enhancements active for a period of twenty four hours after which his body will be weakened and unable to undergo another enhancement until fully recovered.

//SKILLS:
◼ MEDICAL TRAINING | As an EMT, Joseph is able to treat numerous injuries and ailment in the field. In addition to this, Joseph can sustain the life of a person, postponing death in the events of life threatening injuries until they can reach proper treatment. Notably, Joseph's skills are hinged on having the proper supplies although he can be pragmatic and use whatever is at hand when necessary.

◼ PARKOUR | Although rusty, Joseph taught himself how to parkour during his youth before being stopped by his mother. His body still remembers the movements and he has since stayed in good physical condition both for personal interest and due to his chosen career.

◼ DRIVING | Although Joseph isn't by any means a stunt driver, he is capable of driving most vehicles, including large vehicles such as ambulances. Even with such a large vehicle, Joseph is able to steer it an a manner that would be considered agile, capable of weaving in and out of traffic nearly as efficiently as the average motorcycle driver.

◼ SELF DEFENSE | In a city as dangerous as Larissa, one knows better than to work on the streets without some sort of defense training. While attending college, Joseph attended several self defense classes in anticipation of picking up patients in Larrissa's seedier areas.

//LIMITATIONS:
Joseph can not use both of his abilities at the same, Joseph has to choose whether to enhance or negate constantly, he can't lay a hand on an ally to enhance while firing a negation blast at a foe. Furthermore, the effects of his abilities are not permanent, except in an extreme case when regarding his negation ability.

Range of effect is also a major limitation, as even at his fullest potential, Joseph only has a maximum area effect of a twenty five foot radius. His abilities are most effective with physical contact which combined with his lack of physical enhancement requires Joseph to constantly be pragmatic enough to get close to a foe.

In regards to Joseph's self enhancements, he can't just add any superhuman ability to himself. Joseph can only enhance his pre-existing physique. Once the enhancement wears off after twenty four hours, Joseph is left in a weakened state for upwards of twelve hours, requiring significant rest and nutrients in order to recover as he body deals with the 'devolution'. If Joseph tried to enhance himself within his rest period, he could potentially harm himself on a genetic level permanently corrupting his DNA and leaving it unstable.

//WEAKNESSES:
Joseph has no physical enhancements of his own, meaning he's vulnerable to every conventional form of harm. His abilities can be interrupted by a strike to his nervous system such as electrical shock from a tazer. A sustained electrical field, even at a harmless voltage would interrupt Joseph's abilities enough to render them useless.

While enhanced by his own abilities, Joseph can be reduced back to a base human forcibly through extreme voltages which will render his abilities null and void, potentially even temporarily blocking them. Energy based attacks, particularly electrical ones are extremely dangerous to Joseph due to the way his abilities operate through bio-electricity.

Ever since he was young, Joseph has felt a desire to help others. This need was only further honed by his grandfather who was a retired member of the Larissa-Lilith Police Department. As an officer who had served during the Golden Age of the Mavericks, Forrest believed in heroes and Joseph inherited this belief but Larissa was long past the age of heroes and crime was beginning to resurface without any opposition. Taking to the streets as a member of Larissa's paramedics, Joseph decided to help in the best way he could by tending to those hurt in the rapidly growing crime wave.

Born on the first day of spring during one of Gotham's rare sunny days, Richard John Grayson was handed into the hands of his loving parents who looked down on their son overwhelmed with pride. Upon first looking at her newborn baby boy, Mary called the boy her 'Little Robin', relating to his birth on the Spring Solstice. This term of endearment would imprint on the young Grayson for his entire life.

Like his father, Richard comes from a line of Romani descent. The Graysons were the ancestors of a roaming gypsy family who had been part of the circus for longer than any written record could tell. However unbeknownst to them, the Graysons were also the descendant of one of Gotham's most deadly legends, a man by the name of William Cobb. Cobb lived most of his life as a Talon, a highly feared enforcer for a group that has been all but long forgotten save for the haunting rhymes told to children who disobey their parents. As such the history of William Cobb fell into obscurity, lost in a history of circus performers and Romanies.

As his parents had, Richard or as he preferred to go by, Dick lived his whole life travelling from city to city in Haly's Circus. Trained by his parents, Mary and John Grayson, Dick was taught to be an acrobat and began performing at an early age, wowing crowds with his natural prowess on the trapeze. Together with his parents who were both world renowned acrobats, Dick would begin his introduction to performing at a young age and essentially from birth was trained to be a performer in the circus. His mother's nickname for him only became further enforced as Dick learned to perform on the trapeze, as Mary would constantly comment how he reminded her of a Robin while flying through the air in his red leotard. Together they were collectively known as the 'Flying Graysons' and were recognized as being one of the biggest shows in the circus business. In fact the circus' owner Jack Haley often remarked that the Grayson's were the biggest asset to the circus' business. Known for performing without a net, the 'Flying Graysons' true trade mark was their signature quadruple somersault, a move that only the three Graysons were known to be capable of performing. Growing up in the circus, Dick made several friends with the children of the other performers such as Jimmy, Zane and his childhood crush Raya Vestri.

Travelling the world with the circus, Dick became very cultured and outgoing though his education did suffer as he was only taught what those around him knew. None the less, his quick mind grasped onto most concepts quickly and Dick was recognized among the other performers as being a very sharp kid. At the age of twelve, Dick found himself in Gotham City as the circus rolled into town for its annual performance. Dick had only ever performed in Gotham a few times previously, but that said having heard of Gotham's reputation for crime he had always been understandably nervous about leaving the circus grounds to explore the city like he had in Paris, New York, and numerous other locations. However, staying at the circus gave the boy a unique opportunity as he was able to meet a young fan of his by the name of Timothy Drake. At the time, Timothy was only about four years old, but none the less he remembered seeing Grayson's performances in previous years, wanting nothing more than to soar through the air like the older boy did. Having his picture taken with Tim and his parents, Dick wandered off through the circus to kill time before his family's show that evening.

Dick's world suddenly changed that fateful night. It was one of the biggest shows of the year as Haly's Circus had once again returned to Gotham City to help ring in the New Year. But Gotham wasn't the same place it was twelve years ago, not that it was some shiny metropolis then either, yet the city had managed to become worse. Stumbling across an argument between the circus' owner Mr. Haly and a well-known and feared crime lord by the name of "Boss" Tony Zucco. Dick hide in the shadows as he heard Zucco threaten Mr. Haly unless the circus's owner paid protection money. Being an honest and moral man, Haly refused not knowing the horrors he had released. That night Dick watched in horror as his parents' high wire snapped, sending his parents hurtling to their deaths, all while many of Gotham's elite watched on. A burden of guilt came over Dick as he stood there, the realization that he could have warned his parents washing over him, downing him in anguish as he collapsed into bitter sobs.

2 0 0 8 - 2 0 1 2 // R O B I N: T H E B O Y W O N D E R

Shortly after the tragedy of his parent's death, Dick was placed in an uncaring juvenile services system, reportedly on the grounds that social services was full. While in the juvenile systems, Dick found himself dragged into numerous brawls where he was beaten up by a number of the inmates. He was eventually passed onto a Catholic orphanage where he stayed for a couple miserable months. Though life seemed to have taken a permanent turn for the worse for the young boy, seemingly out of nowhere, infamous billionaire Bruce Wayne rescued Dick by adopting him.

Dick insisted on only being adopted as his ward, because he did not want to replace his deceased father with the billionaire who he only knew from the tabloids. In fact, Dick originally believed that Bruce only adopted him for the good press and this was further supported by the amount of time that Dick found himself spending alone in the near empty mansion. Living with the billionaire at first felt like Dick had won the lottery, but after several weeks of growing loneliness, Dick's bitterness began to resurface. Growing frustrated by the lack of attention from his new guardian and the mystery still surrounding his parents' death, Dick snuck out of Wayne Manor one evening to solve the crime on his own - only to stumble upon Gotham's mysterious Batman, who was also investigating the murder. Feeling it would be cathartic for Dick to apprehend Zucco, the Batman allowed Dick to work with him, acknowledging their similar parallels in life.

While working with Batman, Dick began to get a familiar sense about the mysterious man. An expert in reading body language, a skill inherited from the circus and playing up to crowds it didn't take Dick long to deduce that Bruce Wayne and Batman were actually the same individual. Exploring the mansion for further clues, Dick eventually found himself stumbling upon the Batcave where Batman himself was awaiting his arrival. Bruce offered to train Dick, turn Dick into a crime fighter in his own right and pass along each and every skill he himself possessed. Wanting to honor his parents, Dick wholeheartedly agreed and was put through a rigorous training regime. Exercise after grueling exercise nearly brought Dick to his knees, but the young acrobat managed to excel through all combat and physical based training. Where Dick struggled however was the more academic departments although he eventually overcame these obstacles once he was able to put his own perspective on them.

Continuing their hunt, the pair succeeded in tracking down Zucco, and confronted John and Mary's murderer. However, Batman and Dick were unable to apprehend Zucco as the mobster died of a heart attack seconds before his arrest. But the night was hardly over as the nature of its events had allowed Batman to see a reflection of himself in Dick. A thirst for justice he could temper into an unstoppable force, Batman made the young boy the offer of a lifetime; the chance to stay on as his crime-fighting partner. Accepting wholeheartedly, Dick chose the name Robin, after the nickname his mother gave him, and his training began.

Bruce taught Dick fighting techniques and detective skills for a grueling six months. Despite the intensive training, Dick had still not been allowed in the field since the night the death of Boss Zucco. But fate had a different idea as Batman's found himself caught in the trap set by one of his many rogues. Stubborn still, Bruce refused Alfred's suggestion to send Dick into the field, but fearing for Bruce's safety and having complete confidence in Dick, Alfred made the decision to disobey Bruce and presented Dick with his first costume. Leaping into action, Robin managed to rescue Batman proving his competence once and for all.




With the rescue of Batman, Dick was finally deemed worthy to hit the streets. However Bruce had one final test for Dick to pass - "the Gauntlet". Dick had to elude the Dark Knight on the streets of Gotham for one night - from sundown to sunrise - without any outside help. Dick succeeded while simultaneously bringing Gotham gangster Joe Minette to justice. From that point on the two would patrol Gotham together and the name Robin became simultaneous to that of Batman. Just as the dynamic duo were becoming well known, rumors of a female Batman began to circulate Gotham however neither paid them much attention at the time despite the rumors becoming more persistent as time went on.




Enjoying his first few years as Robin, Dick regarded the role as much as a job as he did it an adventure until a confrontation with Two-Face served as a rude awakening for the young hero. The former District Attory Harvey Dent turned supervillain had captured the new District Attorney along with Batman. Suspending both from a hangman's noose in a 'double gallows death-trap', the rescue of the pair fell squarely on Robin's shoulders. However in trying to save the D.A., Robin used a batarang to cut the rope of the noose failing to account for Dent's obsession with the number two. To Robin's dismay it was a two-fold trap as he watched the floor give way, dropping the D.A. to his death. Devastated at his own failure, Robin was taken by surprise by Two-Face. Savagely beaten while Batman was forced to watch, Robin was left defenseless while Two-Face took no mercy on the young boy. Freeing himself, Batman jumped to Dick's aid, quickly putting an end to Two-Face's assualt.. This event, however, scarred the young crime-fighter, haunting him for years to come. Rather than see Dick be further endangered, Batman chose to "fire" his partner and sidelined the Boy Wonder.

The widening gyre between the two only became worse as Dick was shot and injured during a confrontation with the Scarecrow. Subjected to a near lethal dose of fear gas, Batman put Dick on 'Cave Arrest' out of fear of seeing him further injured. However left alone in the cave, Dick discovered that Bruce had been training Jason Todd in secret which he assumed was meant to replace him. Bruce tried to explain that they were at war and Jason was a soldier for their crusade, some much needed back but Dick refused to hear any of it. The conversation got heated as Dick began to run down Bruce's crusade calling him a 'Scared Boy hiding up a blanket' and saying that 'Bruce Wayne could do ten times more for Gotham than Batman ever could.' After a final sucker punch and a dramatic exit, Dick Grayson left the Batcave.

Without Bruce, Dick was out on his own but at the age of 19 he was more than capable for looking at himself. Alfred had been kind enough over the years to teach Dick the domestic side of life and revealed to the young man that Bruce had been given control of a trust fund that Dick's parents had created for him. This trust fund had been left in the hands of financial expert Lucius Fox who had grown it into a modest fortune for Dick. Thanking Alfred for everything, Dick embarked on a soul searching trip.

Spending nearly a year backpacking through Europe, Dick took it upon himself to return to his Romani roots and explore the world as they had, living as a nomad and travelling from town to town. The experience was wholly enriching and exactly what Dick had needed on his trip of self discovery. Returning to North America, Dick avoided Gotham and instead went to New York. It was here that Dick met and enjoyed a whirlwind romance with fashionista Cheyenne Fremont. Though their romance came to an end, the two parted on friendly terms and Dick continued his journey eventually coming into contact with a Tamaranian named Koriand'r. Kori, as she preferred to be called opened Dick's eyes to the further wonders of the world as he was able to live vicariously through her optimistic and naive point of view about Earth.




Dick continued on his trip, reunited with Kori as the two traveled to Metropolis where he came across Superman who much to Dick's surprise recognized the former Boy Wonder.

Showing Dick and Kori the city, Kal and Dick eventually sat down for a meal where the two heroes had a heart to heart, sharing their frustrations about Bruce and ended the night with Superman sharing a story he heard about two Kandorian heroes not unlike Batman and Robin, Flamebird and Nightwing. The story stuck with Dick and he took up the mantle of Nightwing stopping crime on the road alongside Kori before breaking up their partnership and returning to Gotham upon hearing that Tony Zucco had managed to evade death. In the weeks that followed, Dick was able to track Zucco and his activities to Blüdhaven, a city possibly worse than Gotham. Finding himself in a familiar pit of criminal activity, Nightwing realized that Blüdhaven could use a protector. Setting up shop, Dick had finally found a purpose. He was out of the shadow of the Bat, he was his own hero. Using a web of allies formed through his career as Robin, Dick and Kori intend to take back Blüdhaven from the criminal empire that is slowly suffocating the life out of the dying city.

Koriand'r was the second of three children born to King Myand'r and Queen Luand'r of the planet Tamaran, whose inhabitants have the ability to absorb solar energy through their skin and convert it into the power of flight. Her elder sister Komand'r was the victim of a rare childhood disease that rendered her unable to fly. Komand'r developed a bitter and unpleasant personality as a result, and due to her disability and unpopularity, she was deemed unworthy of ascension to the throne. Komand'r was deemed not worthy to be queen and the succession fell to her more attractive younger sister Koriand'r, who had no abnormalities and was well-liked by her people.

Koriand'r received all of the privileges, honors, and dignity of royalty and grew to be the first princess of Tamaran in a hundred years, while Komand'r was largely shunned and forgotten. This set the stage for a sibling rivalry of epic proportions as Komand'r continually sought revenge against Koriand'r. When both sisters were sent to train with the legendary Warlords of Okaara, the bitter Komand'r ran off, allying herself with the Citadel. They used Komand'r's information to successfully invade the planet Tamaran. King Myand'r turned Koriand'r over to the Citadel to ensure peace. Part of the arrangement was that Koriand'r could never return to her home planet or the Citadel would destroy it. The captive princess endured six years of servitude and horrific torture at the hands of her own vengeful sister, who had now become a high ranking warrior of the Citadel. At one point, Koriand'r was raped by members of the Citadel that were under the command of Komand'r. In retaliation, Koriand'r fought back and killed the rapists, but was then subdued and sentenced to death.

Komand'r ordered her own sister's execution but before it could be carried out, the Citadel was attacked and both sisters were captured by the Psions , an advanced race of sadistic scientists. The Psions performed a deadly experiment on both of the sisters to see just how much energy their Tamaranean bodies could absorb before exploding from the overload. During the procedure, Komand'r's forces attacked the Psion ship to rescue her and while the Psions were distracted, Kori broke free with the starbolts, destructive blasts of solar energy, a result of the experimentation. Against her better judgment, she decided to free Komand'r who was still absorbing energy. However, far from grateful, Komand'r struck her sister down with the same-much stronger- power, enabling her to strike down her sister and escape. Koriand'r was recaptured, but later escaped again by seducing one of the guards and fleeing on one of the Psion's own vessels. Finding herself in a familiar sector of space, Kori made her way to the closest habitable world before finding herself in Knowhere.

Starfire has an outgoing and vivacious personality that epitomizes the joy-seeking aspects of Tamaranean culture. She wears her emotions on her sleeve, loves to have fun, and often expresses herself in flamboyant ways. Tamaraneans tend to wear very little clothing compared to humans, both as a reflection of their uninhibited culture and in order to absorb more solar energy through their skin and convert that energy into the power of flight. Starfire is no exception to this, and she finds the human mode of dress to be unnecessarily prudish and restrictive. She prefers wearing outfits that cover as little of her curvaceous figure as is possible to get away with, and enjoys the obvious attention that this creates. She can be openly flirtatious with men, even taken ones, and is seemingly oblivious to the jealousy she generates in other women. Starfire can instantly assimilate other languages simply through physical contact with the other person, and if that other person is male, she will usually kiss them (often without any warning) since it is more fun for her that way.

However, Starfire is also a born warrior, and her sweet and frivolous personality evaporates whenever a combat situation arises. She is a fierce and no-nonsense fighter and extremely aggressive in battle. When fully provoked she can fly into a berserker rage, increasing her already impressive strength level.

Welcome to Absolute DC Universe, where the DC Universe is absolutely yours to shape and mold as you please. The idea behind this RP is not to embody our favourite heroes and villains to simply retell iconic stories and origins but to take these characters and make them our own. In fact the goal of the RP is for players to take their favourite characters and reimagine them to tell their own stories. We only ask that the 'heart' of the character remains the same.

Perhaps you're dying to tell a story about the legendary assassin Deathstroke, a man who has never failed to complete a job until one day he discovers his target is a child reminiscent of his own son. Or maybe you're a fan of Jason Todd, and perhaps he finally became a more brutal Batman who is currently hunting down the head of every crime family in Gotham. Still, you might prefer to write something more lighthearted about the Flash performing the job of a certain other man in a red suit on Christmas Eve. The world has always sought to have heroes and villains. People have told each other stories about beings with powers far greater than the average man since the dawn of time. Stories of men bestowed with gifts from Gods, while others were even the offspring of these beings, demi gods walking the same plain as mere mortals fighting beasts of mythological proportions. Until recently these were thought to just be myths and legends, tales passed down from generation to generation. Yet now men who wield the power of gods walk the Earth along with mere mortals.

However despite this, the world is more on edge than ever. Relations between nations have been tense, many accusing others of creating bio-weapons in the form of these 'new gods'. Crime is on the rise throughout many cities with cops unable to keep up with the escalation of street warfare. Imbued with powers, wealth and intelligence some individuals have begun to take the law into their own hands. Sick of waiting for the system to do its job, men and women have taken to vigilantism and heroics while others have chosen to abuse their abilities establishing themselves as crime lords and anarchists.

The void of space was suddenly illuminated by a blinding flurry of lightning as the fabric between time and space was ripped apart like a once clenched jaw. The bow of a ship slipped through the gaping maw as the Hive Ship exited slipstream and came to orbit around the remote M-Class planet. Behind the massive vessel came another like it and another after that as each of the ships entered into orbit around the planet. From the surface, the humanoid populace turned their eyes to the sky as even from orbit the Hive ships were visible to those upon the surface. A primitive culture, they could not possibly understand was was about to befall their societies but yet they knew enough to feel fear.

From within the Hive ships came a deafening humming noise as hundreds of small ships suddenly exited from the hexagonal patterning on the ships' underbelly. Diving through the planets atmosphere, the ships began to fire on those below. A man reached out to his child only to be struck down, a metal prong hooking into his back as his body was forcibly transformed. Crying out to his child one last time, the man's eyes went blank as he lost his individuality becoming nothing but a drone to the invading aliens. Turning to his crying child, he extended a spike from his wrist before reaching down and submitting her to the same fate as he. More and more of the natives began to fall to this fate as a voice echoed over the planet from the Hive ships above.

"<We are the Reach. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.>"1

The message continued to play on a loop as the Reach began to bomb the planet from orbit. As they had done to the populace, the surface was transformed as the Reach penetrated the surface with pillars that unfolded to cocoon the planet. Drilling to the planet's core, the Reach were preparing the world for a metamorphosis, insuring it would survive the terraforming process. As the cocoon began to spread, the planet's resources were slowly absorbed as the Reach harvested each and everyone of them. Their new drones slowly awakening from the transformation process as they began to assist the cocooning process, their new implants allowing them total comprehension as they became one with the hive mind. Descending through the atmosphere, the first of the Hive ships prepared to land as the other two departed from orbit. This world, like many others now belonged to the Reach.

Ω C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

This version of Superman will be heavily based on the theme that he is the last son of Krypton. As such, my Superman will be a unique birth among the people of Krypton and made with the genes of ancient Kryptonians who had powers before Rao turned red. This means that Kal-El is the only Kryptonian born on the planet in the last ten billion years capable of acquiring powers under a yellow sun. Additionally Kal's weakness to Kryptonite is not a trait shared by all Kryptonians but rather a unique affliction due to radiation poisoning from the planet exploding and catching Kal's vessel in the shockwave.

At the beginning of the IC, I plan on having Clark still figuring out his role in the world. He's reluctantly to use his abilities and needs a push towards donning the traditional tights. Clark is a farm-boy possessing enough power to level the planet and he wants to figure out the best way to use his abilities responsibly to benefit man kind. As such he's taken to travelling the world, interacting with its various cultures and learning to appreciate the world for what is, to invest in his humanity before the time comes to embrace what he really is.

Welcome fans of Marvel, DC and all comics alike. Absolute Comics is a sandbox based RP that seeks to merge and mix the lore of your favourite characters into one living cohesive world. The idea behind this RP is not to embody our favourite heroes and villains to simply retell iconic stories and origins but to take these characters and make them our own. In fact the goal of the RP is for players to take their favourite characters and reimagine them to tell their own stories. We only ask that the 'heart' of the character remains the same. Players will take the roles of their favourite characters and tell stories either alone or in collaboration with other players in order to to develop and grow the world. While there will be an established timeline, these details will be left intentionally vague in order to provide players the ability to decided finer details for themselves.

To differentiate itself from previous 'One Universe' roleplays, Absolute Comics allows for non-linear story telling. This means you can play stories which occur in the past, present or future allowing a single player to have their character's story span multiple years. A Spider-Man player could play out one arc with Peter learning to wall-crawl while another arc could be player with Spider-Man teaming up with the Justice League. This is the flexibility afforded to you as a player in an effort to both keep interest fluent and to allow easier coordination of collaborative arcs without sacrificing independent stories.

Unlike that of a linear progression-themed collaborative story, the goal of a sandbox is to allow you to craft character arcs, NPC casts, and almost assistant GM decisions that don’t contradict the other rules. The style of role-play has been explained previously as an “interactive multi-author fanfiction” and the idea of this sort of concurrent thing is apt. However interaction, much like any role-play, is the bread and butter of the game; we don’t shy away from interactions, world-scale gatherings, and so forth. Our job in this role-play will be to set up events every so often but for the most part the GM Staff will do the same thing as the players in setting up our stories

Ω T I M E L I N E:

◼ 1910's | Reports of an Amazonian woman joining the fight alongside several American soldiers is regarded as a legend. The woman was said to fight with the strength of a demi-god and paved the way for several decisive victories.

◼ 1940's | Using the research of nazi defector, Abraham Erskine, the United States establishes Project Rebirth to combat the increasing influence of Hitler’s pseudo-science division, HYDRA. A young man named Steve Rogers becomes the sole recipient of the project. Dubbed Captain America by the war propaganda, Steve Rogers is heralded as the first true superhuman. Seeing the influence of Captain America on war morale leads to the creation of a team of other enhanced beings (known by the moniker of ‘Meta-Humans’) shortly after the Captain disappears in a battle over the Northern Atlantic. This team is known as the All-Star Squadron and helps repel the Axis Forces ensuring the victory of the Allied Forces that Captain America had worked for.

◼ 1950's | With no war to fight, the All-Star Squadron is disbanded but in its wake a new group formed consisting of both new and old members alike. This group pledged to fit injustices at home and was thus dubbed the Justice Society of America. While publicly the government embraced America's newest protectors, the Strategic Scientific Reserve is resurrected before being re-branded as the Advanced Research Group Uniting Super-Humans.

◼ 1960's | In the midst of the Cold War, a new humanoid race emerges known as the Homo-Superior or to the layman, ‘mutants’. Using the mutant scare as a distraction, the terrorist cell known as H.Y.D.R.A. re-emerges for the first time since the days of Captain America. Following an attack on the United States, the President of the United States is killed. This spurs the formation of a new government agency called the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Divison, or simply S.H.I.E.L.D.

◼ 1970's | After years of conflicts with H.Y.D.R.A., the organization’s end seems nigh when the collaboration between SHIELD and international agencies leads them to the supposed headquarters of their enemy within Southeast Asia on the island of Madripoor. H.Y.D.R.A. is allegedly defeated, although S.H.I.E.L.D.'s victory is a loss for the J.S.A. The public opinion of mutants had been warped, in part, by religious extremists calling themselves the “Purifiers”. They had used their numbers to cause anti-mutant sentiment which ignited a series of civil rights riots. By extension this fear became of all superhumans leading to a mandated disbandment of the Justice Society of America.

◼ 1980's | The gene responsible for the development of mutant powers in certain individuals is isolated and is dubbed the “x-gene”. Further study by the larger scientific community concedes that without a doubt is the cause of displays of power in random youths and adults. An academic by the name of Charles Xavier attempts to mediate but his efforts are ineffective to prevent what would happen in years to come.

◼ 1990's | Charles Xavier founds the Institute for Higher Learning in North Salem, New York. In the following years, the “Fantastic Four” shuttle launch occurs originating in the test site owned by Reed Richards’ Future Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the smartest minds together for the advancement of science. Due to problems with a quantum accelerator tied into what Susan Storm dubs “The Negative Zone” cosmic radiation erupts and changes them and two others drastically. Elsewhere in the world, Victor von Doom restores the nation of Latveria after procuring weapons and technologies through diplomacy and his own genius intellect following the fall of the Soviet Union.

◼ 2000's | An alien race known only as the Dominators turns their eyes towards Earth attacking in a curb stomp battle that decimated Earth's defenses. In response, A.R.G.U.S. assembled several scouted assets to create a counter force that the media would dub Earth’s Avengers. In the aftermath of the attack, public opinion of superhumans began to turn positive for the first time in nearly thirty years. Believing that public safety should not be soley in the hands of the government, a spiritual successor to the J.S.A. is formed, dubbed the Justice League. Unlike the Avengers whose actions are controlled by A.R.G.U.S., The Justice League acts independent, intervening where necessary. This earns them the hearts of America as the League becomes adored.

◼ 2010's | Worried about the Justice League's seemingly continuous growth, A.R.G.U.S. begins the Young Justice Initiative in order to recruit and train young super humans. In response, the Justice League allows their own young heroes to band together under the banner of the 'Titans'. These teenage heroes often find themselves in rivalry with the Young Justice members leading to a rivalry between not only these two teenage teams but also a third party known only as the X-Men.

◼ 2017 | The Present Year.

Ω R U L E S & R E G U L A T I O N S:

◼ 001 | You may choose any character appearing in the continuities that envelope certain frames of western comic books, though the core of the game is DC/Marvel. You can include aspects of the Bruce Timm continuity, Wildstorm, the Cinematic Universe(s), and so forth. Characters from Dark Horse, Image, IDW, and Archie are acceptable.

◼ 002 | Manga/Anime based characters are heavily discouraged due to their incompatibility with western superhero comics. Other comic titles discouraged are those of a science fiction nature such as Star Trek, Star Wars and Transformers. Properties from outside of the Marvel and DC Universes will be judged on a case by case manner for the most part but the above limitations will be definite denials.

◼ 003 | Posts are to be made at least once per character every fourteen days. This means if you control more than one character you can't simply post for once and call it your quota. This is to ensure that players do not squat on characters simply for the sake of laying claim to them. It's simply best to have as many characters active as possible. That said, if you have more time to post and are invested in doing so you may have more characters.

◼ 004 | Please do not kill player-created characters or important NPC’s unless given the go-ahead to do so or are within your right to.

◼ 005 | Do not impose on arcs without asking for permission; don’t jump into a scene for the sake of interaction; your characters should have sufficient reasoning to want to be in a cooperative scene and noting that— do be courteous and respectful about approaching or possibly interfering in character arcs. While this is more a suggestion then a rule, we should be courteous to those who are planning arcs. Communication is the key.

◼ 006 | No post should be made that contradicts the host website's rules, so keep those in mind.

◼ 007 | Competing applications will be decided via a vote based upon sample posts. In the event two people both are interested in the same character, they will be requested to deliver a sample post to the the OOC where other accepted players will vote for who they think best represents the heart of the character.
