Hmm, with the overheating it might be air flow or the fans or dust. I think I've mentioned that before, yeah the age of it can really drag it down as well. I can help you look for a good replacement if you'd like, granted I'd lean more so towards parts as it isn't hard to build your own and it's also cheaper to do so.
