The magic system seems flawed and incomplete, for some reason. Alchemy and engineering magic being considered a dark art seems... contrived. There's a number of grammar and formatting issues that might turn away pickier roleplayers, so I'd give your interest check a once over and fix those up to give it some more polish. I'd suggest looking at other interest checks to see how they pretty up their threads. Try applying similar things to yours.
