Rule number is literally: 1. This will be a roleplay with a standard of adept roleplaying. I'm not expecting an overwhelming amount of detail but I do expect effort to be put into characterization. Three sentences do not make a personality, or a bio in my eyes. That roleplay is something expected from a free level (example: http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/129899-arranged-disney-style/char) roleplay. You need to put a lot more work into it. There's more to a character's depth than just a few sentences. They have lives and have experienced hardships, love, and they are generally more complex than what's given. I'm expecting the same length that I have put in but that is not enough. I'm not trying to be offensive but I strictly enforce the length rule. Not as a way to punish players but as a way to make sure characters are properly fleshed out and not half baked. It shows thought was put into the character and that the player will stick with them.
