Not to put too fine a point on it, but...

It would probably be better to assume that they'd already joined? There's no reason for every new character to manually apply when it can just be assumed they've been in the background. Don't need padding. 

Especially because this is basically [i]dinner or later[/i]. Not really a time of day to be walking up like that... >_>
