Looming at five foot seven and garbed in dark grey clothing that gives her an androgynous and intimidating appearance, Zen fits perfectly amongst the scum that litters the back alleys of Matala. Dark raven hair peeks underneath her hood, and electric green eyes are the only ones visible from behind the mask that covers the lower half of her face. Beneath her robes are an assortment of lockpicks and vials containing poisons of all kinds.

Born amongst the waste of the city, Zen knew no other choice but to embrace the darkness she grew up in. The degenerates she learned to call her family taught her to lie, steal, and, when the need arose, kill. They had to do what they can to survive and eat day by day, and none in the city of Matala wanted to take their chances employing someone who looked ready to rob them blind so soon as they turned their back on them. It was simply a fact of life, and Zen was fine living with it for the rest of her days. She was, after all, one of the greatest thieves in Matala.

Zen is no stranger to joining the expeditions towards the ruins. Much of her time with the Seekers had been spent sneaking artifacts under her clothes to be sold in the Matalan black market afterwards. She had been present when they discovered the city of Eligaas, but had made the fatal mistake of stealing an item made of pure gold from the temple in the mountain city. Guards caught her, but fortunately, she was able to escape back into Matala. She's kept a low profile since then, but recently found that Oren, a childhood friend of Zen who suffers from an illness inher blood, had grown sicker in the past few months. They quickly took her to a healer and learned that not only could they not pay the services, but they also required healing ingredients not found in Matala.
