 I do in fact take into accoutn various modifiers. For example, if either of us were fighting on unstable ground that might be a positive or negative modifier for my rolls depending on the situation. Or let's say your character was considered "large" which is typically between 8 - 16 feet as opposed to medium which both our characters currently occupy. A large creature would allow for a positive modifier to my dice rolls to hit whether ranged or melee. Your enhanced speed for example does provide a -1 modifier for my to hit rolls at this point. The interesting thing about Dungeon and Dragons regardless of the edition you play is that it allows the DM to apply modifiers for a plethora of situations. Is it storming out?  Negative modifier for wind and wet hands. Is the NPC you are trying to persuade exceptionally ugly and use to being treated like a dog, negative modifier for gather information checks because your character has high charisma (aka good looking) and they don't like that. Did you use a fireball spell? Well, now you just caught the oil that covered the floor on fire everyone make reflex saves or take x amount of damage but you have a -2 to reflex saves because the floor is slippery with oil. Things of that nature. 

As for you making a character sheet - that is really not necessary unless you'd actually enjoy a little bit of light reading, some page flipping, and a good hour of entertainment (at least it is entertaining to me.) Essentially, I'm considering your character's pertinent stats very much like Maddox's. While essentially you where light armor which would be a -1 to ac where I have medium armor, you have a steel shield where I have a wooden which essentially cancels out any change. But those modifiers make a difference. 

And let me be honest. Using dice in this manner is still vague for me. While I am not trying to cheat or sway the odds in my favor - I am still working things out to accomodate those who don't use them. So you'll have to bare with me through all the confusion is all.

So I'll riterate, if you really want to do a character sheet I can guide you. But I won't require it.
