[b]Biography:[/b] Saiba was born in Italy to an Italian mother and a Japanese father. His father was an ordinary man, but his mother was a fairly strong Mage. It was thanks to her that Saiba was first educated in manipulating his Prana in his adolescence; she'd hoped to teach him some magic once he could work with it, but when it was discovered that he was an Esper... that rather put a damper on things. Still, it wasn't like the practice went to waste, and Esper training wasn't exactly hard to secure. In time, and with practice, he started getting the hang of things.

As he got stronger, however, it became harder to find personnel who could teach him further. Most of the local instructors were ill equipped or simply unable to advise Espers above the most basic levels, and Saiba had a strong desire to nurture his gifts. It was his father that came up with the solution; Pyramid City, the place where Espers and other uniquely gifted individuals were being encouraged to gather near his homeland of Japan. The decision was made, and a young adult Saiba was off to the MegaCorp city.

What he found when he got there, however, was not at all what he expected. Rather than a place of learning like he thought it might be, the place was a lot like any other large city; certainly some good to it, but also a lot of bad lurking just under the surface. The Entrance Exam for ENMA proved little trouble to him, but the tuition was almost prohibitively expensive. He found a solution easily enough- the Monitors, student volunteers on security detail in exchange for scholarship money. It sounded like the perfect thing for him... until he got in and figured out they didn't really do anything of note. Just kept an eye out a window, reported anything they thought was suspicious, and then left it alone. He wound up leaving the Monitors out of disgust, which forced him to drop out of the school and look for work elsewhere. He took the things he'd managed to learn to heart, however, and made sure to spend time each day honing his Ability.

Then, about 3 years ago, he was contacted by a Private Security Company who had caught wind of him and his actions as a Monitor. They talked at length, about what the PSC was and how they operated, and at the end of it Saiba was offered a job with them. Short on income and looking for a chance to do some good in the world, he accepted. A year and a half of training followed, and then he was given an assignment; he was to go undercover at ENMA as an innocuous position (Janitor was his idea), and from there his role was to keep an eye on the students and, if need be, step in to protect them from threats. 

[b]Personality:[/b][Reassuring] Saiba Castellano is an even-tempered man who seems to take everything in stride. He endeavors to treat everyone he meets with respect and kindness, from the weakest student to the Level 10s themselves, and seems to always be wearing a smile of some kind. He's easy to get along with and doesn't hesitate at all to give advice if he can... but if provoked he's incredibly ruthless in response. "Beware the anger of a gentle man," as it were.

Subject Castellano is able to manipulate and, in a more limited scope artificially create, the effects of gravitational fields on objects and others. Through practice and personal experimentation, Subject Castellano has discovered that it is both less stressful on his Prana reserves and more effective overall to redistribute the earth's existing gravitational pull from one area to another rather than amplify or reduce it directly. As his Ability Level has increased, so too has the maximum range at which he can perform this feat. 

Due to the subject's habit of operating under an increased gravitational pull in his daily life, he has developed impressive physical prowess; his strength is naturally greater than most on account of being accustomed to all items he uses being heavier, and he can grant himself a surprising increase in agility and speed simply by returning himself to normal gravity. 

In addition, upon reaching Level 7, the subject has gained the ability to briefly conjure gravitational singularities that will pull nearby objects toward the center. Objects that move into the outside will have orbital forces applied to them, and if enough force to break out is not attained they will begin to curve around the singularity. At present, however, these singularities can only exist for a brief period with a maximum effect diameter of 10 feet. If prior results are conclusive, the size, duration, and power of the singularities is likely to increase as the subject's Ability Level grows.

[b]Extras:[/b] Saiba is an expert in the cleaning and care of musical instruments as a hobby. Music students will often come to him for help in caring and tuning of their instruments, and he often takes it upon himself to see that the school's loaner instruments are kept in good condition.
