The arena is a small, 50x50 meter plaza with a broken-down fountain, two benches and a couple trees in the middle; a total of 3 food vendor stalls are dotted around the outskirts. The plaza is at a crossroads, three streets branching off of it.

Additional detail will be negotiated/added upon request.

You said it might end up being a role reversal.

Yeah sure, I can use the practice anyway. It could be a role reversal if you end up playing something a bit more like Sigurd, because I must confess my new character was a little inspired by Gigue.

It did not. ;(

My character is still inspired by Gigue, armour wise. Not much else though. Your character has double the rock arms Sigurd has.

@Vordak Dude, if you can't even commit to a mess around fight like this, you really shouldn't join the GCL.

If it'll make things easier for you, I'll ditch half my weapons, but you're going to have to learn to fight characters with ranged potential, or play different characters yourself.

No need to tone down Rook, i'm fine with the fight itself; and if you're willing to continue, then i'll won't back down either. Have to give this another shot at least before i give up, so regardless, expect another post from me within the next couple hours - if not, shame on me.

Still, another hit to the same spot would make for tenfold the pain, now that it was stripped of protection, so first things first, he moved the discus-wielding arm to cover it up.
------
Leading arm's fingers were raised up to cheekbone level; right arm stayed guarding its side of the stomach.

Especially when said projectile is aimed right for the same spot as before, where the armour is weak and your guard is too, the lower torso.

Just making sure we're on the same page, since i am intending the shot to hit Quebra's arm this time, and not the stomach. The right side of his armor got damaged, but his guard is there, with crystal-covered arm and discus protecting the area, and left side is still in good shape.

Typical super bracers, can't say I'm surprised.

Still, for an ordinary human, the guard over the lower torso is fairly weak, our arms are better suited to guard the upper torso, because that's where all the important shit is.

Also, just to clarify, Rook is shooting for the belly button again, so if your character is jogging forward like you said he is going to have to move his arm to block the round, it's not just getting fired straight into his right side.

Updated Rook's CS a little, changed the length of the baton (made it slightly shorter) and increased his overall weight, that's about it.

I guess the blame's on me, 'cause i tacked this on at the very end of the ability's description, in a place where one wouldn't think to look for it, but here's the extra info:

As an auxiliary power, Quebra, at no cost, can transform parts of the armor into the same sort of crystal grown from his limbs, maximum toughness - the main reason to do this may be the fact that the liquid provides no heat or electrical resistance, unlike the crystal.

So it's pretty much anything but the legs/arms right now.

I don't really get what you're driving at. I know his crystal protects him from electricity, but he won't have crystal everywhere the shield is likely to make contact if Rook rams it into his body, namely his face.

I'm actually hinting at less defense, not more. His armor's default state is an amorphous, tarry liquid with next to none electrical resistance, so unless it is hardened with an impact or Quebra makes a conscious effort to permanently transform it into crystal, it won't protect him from shocks; the only resistant parts of his body in that case would be the fully crystallized sections of his limbs.

If you think you can handle it, go for it. I have a lot more experience with Rook now though.

@MelonHead

If Quebra successfully defends against the first shove, will Rook still follow through with pushing again and switching to a left lead? I'm a bit confused as to whether the post implies that Rook would perform the action only if the initial shield bash would prove successful in unbalancing/making sufficient contact with Quebra's body, or if he'd do so in any case, as long as Quebra is in front of the shield, as to make the action possible?

If Quebra just stops the shield dead, then no, he won't do any passing footwork, he'd just stop with the shield pushed forward, right foot leading. Rook's expecting to be able to push Quebra back because he looks lighter, so he would be prepared to advance forward in that instance.

In this instance, i'm planning for Quebra to stop only himself from smacking his pecs against the shield - he is barely over half of Rook's full weight, so not much of a chance to overpower the merc even with his souped up calves - but it will end up with him heavily leaning his weight into the shield. Not pushing back though, he'd just be resting up against it.

A knee strike, to be precise, as to let him brace the impact with three limbs instead of two and better stop the momentum of his lower body.
