I would like to say that while the two may not personally know each other, they are acquainted with each other perhaps. While not specialized as much like Adrian, she is well known for her other competitions and not to mention a noble competing (and that she's a girl, how scandalous!). She would give or take win a few of them and come in top five most of the time in the others that would warrant her a good competitive reputation. So in sportsmanship terms, they would be an acquaintance from a long time ago indirectly and perhaps not remember depending on how long it was.
