[b]Humanity enters a crossroads unlike any it has ever seen, a plague ravages Asia unlike anything ever witnessed. Do we eradicate it forcibly, thus killing millions, if not billions of innocents who have yet to be infected with the disease, or do we accept the inevitable spread of it and attempt to weather the storm of this new "Plague of Darkness". War also begins to brew as the rivalries have begun to reignite between the the former European Union and what the former Russian Federation, South America's tension grows larger and larger by the day as they try and become the power of the continent, and the countries currently infected with the Plague trying to fight for survival. The year is 2066, and we are closer to death in what seems like centuries, nuclear warheads stand armed, a plague is ready, and a choir is prepared to sing, this could be Humanity's Last Ballad. Hello, and welcome to Humanity's Last Ballad, my attempt to try and create a NRP based around Humanity being faced with the decision of sacrificing some of us to ensure our eventual survival, or attempting to survive a storm with the potential to eradicate us. In other words, I'm trying to make this NRP focused about Morals, and if sacrificing some is worth the survival of the many. Below this paragraph, you will see hiders holding International and Technological, along with information about this plague that has the potential to wipe out humanity.

The World is a lot less united than it is now, so to speak. Organizations like the EU and NATO no longer exist at that large of a scale, and the ones that still do typically involve only 3 to 5 countries. The United Nations continues its existence, but is a shell of its former self, having very little power of the Whats and What Nots of the world. Nations themselves have begun a major change, but this won't be decided by me (other than my country). Most major powers of the early 21st century have gone through at least one revolution or civil war that has completely changed the country in some way. The large question currently on every nations mind is can we sacrifice those in areas at risk to possibly save humanity in the long run.

Technology is a lot simpler than this, simply put, it is no where near the level of colonizing planets or setting up massive bases on planets in our solar system, let alone the moon, but we have begun testing satellites and other objects in orbit as possible weapons, but currently none of these weapons are nuclear. If you have an idea for a weapon or technology that might fit the setting, but don't know if it will, just ask me.

[hider=The Virus]
This Virus itself is quite new, only being around for 6th months, though in that time it has already begun its effect on countries in Asia. The populations of the former nations of China and India are now both over 2.3 Billion which basically makes it a hot bed for disease to spread. The Virus itself has not spread across Europe, Africa, or the Americas yet, but multiple cases of those who have the disease accidentally flying to these places have happened, thankfully none of these cases have caused the disease to spread, and those who happen to end up in this situation ended up dying within the next 12 hours, which leads to the next part of the disease, it will kill you, quickly, which is why it has not completely destroyed humanity yet, it takes less than a day for the disease to kill you, and in that time it can't spread that quickly, but it also makes it difficult to study as when the human dies, the disease dies with it. The Survival rate for the disease is less than 20%, and it has already claimed the lives of 20 Million people.

A large part of an NRP is of course, the nations, which of course will play a large part in this story. National Governments have become a lot more complicated from what exists today, and a rebirth of Far-Right and Far-Left politics in the 2030s would see a lot of democracies in the early 21st century now be one party states, but some countries still claim to be bastions of freedom and "Western Values".........

This is all I currently have regarding the base outline for the story and nations, if needed, I will gladly clarify things, and once more people voice interest, I'll set up the Nation application for all of you.
