Before the scattered Cardinal Races would be annihilated, they created a massive vessel-city that would sail into the sky to avoid the destruction. It was risky to dare pass into the Ocean of Ashe, the violent tempestial mass that now overtook the skies, but it was the only chance they had. The ship was fitted with the strongest arcane barriers they could muster in a hurry, and the population departed only hours after for this desperate exodus. If only there was a happy tale to tell of this journey. The hull of the vessel-city was already breached in moments upon entering the swirling mass and countless were pulled into the sundering maw of the sky-ocean as the ship was ripped piece by piece. By the time they were able to escape the swirling jaws, only fragments of the massive vessel remained intact. The gigantic aircraft, once the size of an entire city, had been reduced to that of a shambling hamlet of shredded metal and wire. Anchoring high above the atmosphere, like a glimmering crown in the darkness, the survivors breathed a sigh now that their journey was finally over. For the moment, while bathed in the precious beams of light from the golden sun on the horizon, they were able to forget the violence and malice of the dying planet below. But the survivors were soon made to face a grim reality. They suffered too many losses to infrastructure to continue their plans of settling smoothly in this new home. What was left of the ruling authority made a difficult decision. To preserve the power reserves of the damaged arcane-core, the inhabitants were all placed in a deep asleep to await the time when the apocalyptic storms settled. When the time comes, they must return to face their old sins, to reclaim their shattered world.  Ages have long passed now and the first of these people have begun to awake, heeding their fateful call. But things are not what they expected. Will they be able to accept their new destiny?
Rules: 1. Basic RPG site rules apply. 2. My word is law on an outcome of an event, as this roleplay is meant to emphasize consequences and rewards based on actions. This is purely objective and by no means will I do something out of spite. I am willing to be reasoned with if you think something was unfair, but I do not tolerate whining or raging. ((So it can be on record now. There is no plot armor in this RP. I will give a few hints that what a character is doing may end up endangering them, but nothing more.)) 3. Don't be a wanker. 4. Have fun. After-Word:
Greets, and welcome to a short synopsis of this post-apocalyptic fantasy roleplay of mine. I am happy you have made it this far! Now, this is where I have to do a bit of explaining. I have been formulating this setting painstakingly over the months, pulling my hair out fine-tuning the plot and working with difficult themes in order to make an interesting story full of mystery and deep emotions. I finally think this work is worthy of allowing players and myself to enjoy a deeper roleplaying experience with notable progression and consequences to choices, such as offering a clear goal for the cast to achieve. As such, I'm afraid this is not entirely casual and I will only accept experienced people, or at the very least, those who show me they put in extra effort. A common misconception is post length determines whether someone is casual or advanced. In my opinion, it does not matter. They can range from a few sentences to large paragraphs, but I look most for quality of the post above all. How concise the ideas are and how well they paint the narrative. I'm not sure how many people I will accept, but I plan on having a small cast, perhaps only a handful of players. I have seen how cluttered and impersonal interaction can quickly get when too many people try to do different things at once. It makes people feel like they matter less when so many things happen at once without them. I want this to be an intimate and fulfilling story, so there will be a focus on a few flesh-out characters.  As a side note; a few notable things I drew inspiration from in making this roleplay are Final Fantasy, Shadow of the Colossus, Ergo Proxy, and the Dark Souls series. If you enjoy any of those titles, then feel free to check this one out. With all that being said, thanks for giving me your time! :^D

Character Skeleton:

(This sheet is left bare-bones since your character will start with essentially nothing and will learn and acquire things such as items and weapons later on. A lot of information regarding the backstory and history of the world is left missing on purpose. Very much, this aspect is inspired by the Souls series, exploring and discovering an old world and creatively dealing with problems given limitations. You might have already noticed that there is no place to put any sort of magical powers. This is also on purpose, since no one will be able to use the olden methods of magic at the beginning. This will come as a great shock to your characters. An explanation with be given IC. Don't worry, there will be opportunities to 'unlock' this trait once again.) Name/Title: Race: All characters will be Human until further notice. Gender: Appearance: Significant Memory: All characters will have amnesia when they awaken, forgetting everything of their past, save for vague glimpses of things 'important to them'. Maybe it's just a name, or is it a place? It could even be an idea. Best to just keep it short and simple. Without true identities, characters would only have these comforts, or traumas, to help define themselves. These lost pasts will play a large part in the narrative and tone of this setting. A few examples: a soldier who feels obliged to honor his duty despite the empire they once served no longer existing, or a confused child terrified by a nightmare they keep having. Feel free to be creative and if you need any help, just ask me any questions. (This mechanic will take the place of the usual 'History and Personality' portion of this sheet. Because I find it very boring to read through a long-winded background without any context, I opted for another method. I also felt it would feel much more dynamic and interesting exploring this aspect in-character through lack of knowing. Since no one can just go into someone's sheet and skim through their bio to know beforehand how anyone would react, this leaves a mystery to both the player and character, thus making character interaction have more meaning and surprise. That said, feel free to brew up drama. I encourage it.) Other: Whatever extraneous details you want to include.
